Chapitre 21: REJECT
Selena went home but not straight to their own house. She headed to Luke's so called bachelor's pad.
Luke's place is big enough for a family of five. It is a two storey house with three bedrooms and two baths. The master's bedroom has it's own bath. His living room is spacious enough to accommodate guests. The kitchen can be considered large but not too extravagant.
Erin send Selena a message. She's in their house and watching the repairs. She also asked her to cook dinner for Luke. Selena sighed.
Selena headed to the kitchen then straight to the fridge. She was surprised there's a lot of meat inside.
"I wondered what kind of food Luke eat?". Selena is curious. She took out her phone.
"Mom.... What do male gods eat for dinner?". Her last source of information.
Erin's place.
Erin was busy instructing the workers Luke hired. She wants her store to be exactly like before when suddenly her phone rings. She checked the ID and saw her daughter calling. Her daughter's words took her by surprised.
"Just cook some meat men love them". Erin just gave her a simple advice while smiling ear to ear.
"Are you sure?". Selena knows a lot of recipes but she have no idea what Luke's favorite food.
"Trust me". Erin smiled widely even though Selena can't see it.
Luke's house.
Selena prepared three types of meal. She was preparing the table when the doorbell rings. She hurriedly run towards the door. Luke and three other men are standing outside.
"Why did you ring the bell?.... Don't you have a key, this is your house". Selena was confused with Luke's action.
"I know Erin is not home and I don't want to scare you". Luke said politely.
Selena was astonished. She can't believed how nice Luke is. She noticed again the three men behind him.
"Can we invite them for dinner?.... I kind a cook a lot".
Luke feel hesitant. He look at his men and he can see a glint of hope in their eyes. He looked back at his beloved Mate then sighed in defeat. "OK!".
Selena smiled widely. She intentionally asked Luke to invite his people in so that they won't end up alone with each other.
The four men sits on the table and Selena starts to served them food. Then joined them after.
"By the way, I'm Selena". She introduced herself. She have a feeling Luke won't introduce her to them.
"I'm Drew, Luke's assistant. He is Tony, that's Rick and that's Jay". Drew introduced the others one by one. He can sense Luke's aura, it's getting colder.
"I think I remember you. You're always with Luke right". Selena is giving Drew a warm treatment.
"He is always with me because of the nature of his job". Luke answered for him. He is starting to get annoyed by Selena's warm treatment for Drew. "And I don't think Sylvia mind". He added for her to know his Beta is already taken.
"Who is Sylvia?". Selena asked candidly.
"His fiance". Luke answered again for Drew.
"Really?.... Wow, congratulations!".
"Thank you!". Drew quickly answered. He can hear a low growl from his Alpha. He wants to laugh for his Alpha's childish action. He knows he is getting jealous.
"Come let's eat!". Selena instantly serves Luke's plate with some meat. "Hope you like it". She said with a shy fainting smile.
Luke eat first before his men. He is savoring the flavor of his Mate's home cooked meal and he was satisfied with the taste. Hesitant, he told them to eat. Luke wants to finish all the food his Mate cook but he don't want her to think bad of him.
Selena can hear some good compliments from Luke's men from the first dish to the last. She was very happy. Men do love meat. Even her male god appreciate her home cooked meal.
"Why aren't you eating?". Luke got worried. They almost finished the food and Selena have only a small bite.
"I'm fine... Seeing how you enjoy the food I cook it's very satisfying for me". She gave them her warmest grin.
Feel a bit embarrassed that the men finished the food on the table in a snap. They still feel very happy. It's like eating their own mother's home cook meal. Selena will become their future Luna someday and that means she will be the mother of all the Shadow Claw pack. And being the first people who can dine with her is already a great honor.
"Selena, can I ask you something?". Drew without hesitation spoke.
"Sure, anything!". She is confident. She's an open book and she never hide anything about her life except for her freaking ability.
"Do you have a boyfriend?".
Selena was stunned with the question. "No I don't have right now". But she answered honestly.
"How about a crush?..... Or someone you feel special?". Drew steal a glance to his Alpha. He is silent and waiting for her to reply.
Selena look to her side where Luke is sitting. Her cheeks burned red. "Yeah, there's someone I like". She said shyly.
"In school?". Drew needs to play around with his question first. He don't want Selena to be embarrassed in front of Luke or his Alpha will twist his neck.
"He kind a own". She paused. If she say he owns the school it's like telling them directly that it was Luke. "He's older than me". She changed her answer.
"Older?.... Like, I don't know.... As older as Luke?". He can hear the men in the table through their mind link saying. 'She is our Luna indeed'.
Selena didn't look at Luke. She just nod her head.
Luke is just silent on the side. At first he almost growled at Drew for being nuisance but his curiosity takes in. He wants to know everything about his Mate.
Drew stop for a moment and looked at his Alpha. He is staring at his future Luna intensely.
"Can I ask one more thing?". Drew tried to test the water.
Selena nod.
"Do you think.... You could fall in love with my boss?". Drew is almost holding his breath. He asked her a direct question. If Selena answer them with a NO, he will die. Literally.
Selena's chest trembled as soon as she heard the question. Her heart is beating fast. She tried to stop herself for looking at Luke's side. She swallowed hard as if there's a big lump on her throat. She have no idea how to answer his question.
Luke cleared his throat and speak. "I'll just go and get some water".
Selena looked at him until his back fades.
"Yes!".As soon as Luke left, she answered Drew's question. "But please don't tell him. I don't want him to kick us out yet". She pleaded.
"Don't worry, you can trust us". Drew gave her a very assuring look. "May I ask when did you like him?". His interest flared up.
"The time he tried to save me from those wolves. My heart aches when I saw him got hurt because of me. When I saw them attacked him and the thought that he might die, I felt like I want to die with him too". Selena's eyes became gloomy. It was a sad memory for her. The man that she have fallen into almost died because of her.
"If you like him, just tell him. Luke is a very nice guy and I think he likes you too". Sincerity is in Drew's voice.
Selena was surprised with Drew's revelation. The thought that Luke might like her too gives her a big hope. But telling him how she feels made her a little worried. 'Confess to him?'. A thought occurred in her mind.
"I don't know... He is my male god and I'm just a freak who came from nowhere. What if he rejects me?". Selena said without hesitation. She wasn't thinking what her words would sound like for them but her tone have a hint of worry.
'MALE GOD?'. the four men looked at each other then a sinister but almost fainting smile occurred on their lips and vanished after a second when they heard a growl inside their head.
" Trust me he won't reject you ". Drew tried his best to convince her.
"You don't understand. Luke is like a GOD. Do you even know how many women are drooling over him.....I can drown at their saliva if they gather and drool at him at once!". Selena admit to herself that she is also one of this girls.
Drew wants to crack and laugh by Selena's point of view. He can't believed that in the eyes of many women his Alpha is considered a GOD.
"If you like him fight for what you feel. If the feeling is right then stand for what you think is yours. We are all born with other half and it is our duty to find them". Tony a lead warrior spoke.
Selena was surprised when he talked. Everything he said had made sense and she was enlightened.
"You are right.... I feel like his MINE. Starting tomorrow I will start to seduce him!". Selena said with full of determination. Though her words sounds awkward to the other men.
"Pufftt". They almost breakdown and laugh.
