CHAPTER 1

Welcome, my dear readers, and hopefully future companions in the matter of waiting for more and more chapters. Each week I will try to fulfill the norm of three chapters. I can't promise exact days, but there will be at least three chapters. But it's not certain, because in me burns a desire to please my reader with a quick completion of the work, so that you can enjoy a lot of interesting content. The average chapter size will be between 1000 to 1100 words. I have two fanfic ideas, from two different franchises, so I'm trying to write three chapters a week for each of them at the same time.

And the most important thing, I must warn you in advance that at first the story may seem too slow-moving, but I assure you that every thought and small detail is in its rightful place. There is a reason why exactly such a slow pace of events is needed. So be patient and get into the mood of Planethos.

Well, let's get started.

________________________

 296 years AC

The lands beyond the Wall, east of the Thenn Valley.

In the darkness, in the very depths of the cave that found its home beneath a rather large and ancient tree, where any sighted person would resent the injustice of lack of proper visibility, a decrepit old man whose age would serve as a mystery to any eyewitness was beginning to lose patience.

- What was it that made the future so unclear, and what was that red haze? - Brinden Rivers, once a seasoned warrior, now a shell of himself, long forgotten in the annals of history, mumbled his thoughts aloud, audible only to himself. He tried again and again to find out what was going on in the Seven Kingdoms. Until a few weeks ago, it had been within reach for the last greenseer to witness the desired and necessary events, but that was before.

A red haze obscured many episodes in the lives of key figures of the future events. The players on the board were still rapidly chasing their sad outcome without knowing it, but while until recently a wise manipulator could clearly trace the outcome of events, now something or someone else was interested in the manipulation. The more secrets lurked behind the veil of obscurity, the more irritable the elder's mood became.

During his time in the cave, enveloped in the roots of the tree, the Three-Eyed Raven had repeatedly and meticulously scrutinised every detail of history, past and future, but of late, events and actions surrounding several key figures had begun to escape the greenseer's gaze. This was first witnessed in one of the forests south of the wall, and Brinden Rivers was instantly alarmed, sending his faithful feathered servants to scout the situation, but could find nothing.

The old man could not explain his mistake logically, referring to the uncertainty of the time period of the events that had taken place in that forest as the closest thing to logic and common sense.

The wise Targaryen descendant clearly remembered the scenes of future events he had seen more than once, and could still rely on the weirwood and animals to witness the events that were happening near them, but the opportunity to see the future in person was irretrievably lost.

- And it was now, when the need to use my powers even more often came up, this anomaly had arisen- Remembering his age and the need to go to sleep more and more often to regain his strength after each session of invasion into the bodies of other creatures, spoilt his mood even more. Even in a young body, greenseer had a hard time after each use of his magical abilities, and now that old age and laxity were claiming their dividends, it would be even harder.

Perhaps fate had decided to play a trick on him, and the concealment of events and the impossibility of seeing the future, particularly the many places in Westeros, were occurring now.

________________________________

- Why is my back so heavy? - The evening dawn was broken by the voice of a young man who had spent the last few minutes regaining consciousness after waking from unconsciousness. It always took Isaia, as the young man was called, a few long moments or even minutes to get his thoughts in order and force himself to get out of his cosy bed and get on with the day's routine. This time, however, was a little different, for there was even more perplexity in the uncertainty, for the lad had no recollection of his last acts of preparation for sleep, nor was he absolutely aware of his surroundings, forget bed altogether.

While his thoughts were racing uncontrollably through his mind, he was disturbed by the discomfort of a sensation in his back. Like every other ordinary human being, acting instinctively without any intricate reasoning, the young man reached his hand to his back to check for the cause of the discomfort, but instead of finding anything, he came to an unexpected realisation.

The realisation was due to the inability to reach for his back, for something was in the way, and it did not take too long to realise that he had been lying on his back the whole time. At first he didn't even realize what he had touched, as he was reaching for his back, but instead his path was blocked by something. It was cold, and only after a few seconds did it dawn on him that he had been probing the ground the whole time and he had been in an atypical position for a newly awakened person.

The mind and thought process is a strange thing, for the young man did not feel the usual slow coming to consciousness of waking, it was as if he had been thinking all the time and only now realised the circumstances in which he was. Consciousness did not fix even the lying down state, all the while convincing himself that Isaia was in an upright, standing position. Even his open eyes provided no information that he'd been lying on his back all this time, staring up into the darkening sky.

Wondering about the reason for his unconsciousness, he rose to a sitting position to look around and find the answers to the fluttering questions that were so reluctant to lag behind, gnawing at his cerebral cortex in search of the truths to be revealed.

His eyes did not fix anything previously, being in unconscious wandering, and they were constantly open, but they did not want to give information to the consciousness.

The young man could not explain the reason for his strange behaviour, the human thought process and the whole apparatus of consciousness remained a mystery to him. There was no hint of the environment or any unusual coincidence of circumstances, but only a feeling of prolonged prostration of the thought process without any content - a simple closed existence without thoughts.

At this point Issai recalled something he had once read about people who lose consciousness, where it was said that in the first few moments it was impossible for the individual to realise the situation, and it seemed to them that nothing had happened. Only after a certain amount of time do they realise that they are lying on the floor or somewhere else, with further reasoning and inference of their case.

Only after personally experiencing the situation he realised the absurdity of the whole situation, because moments ago it seemed to him that everything was absolutely fine, only there was some weight on his back, but in fact this heaviness was caused by the pressure of his own body weight on the area that was in contact with the ground the most.

Hence the conclusion was that he had not fallen asleep, but had lost consciousness, given similar syndromes as the man he had once read about. It remained to be seen whether he had been thrown here by some jokers, or knocked out, which was more likely, so as not to cause trouble in the process of being transported.

English, as some of you may have realized, is not my native language, hence the requirement to occasionally use a dictionary. I ask for your indulgence, and hope you enjoy the chapter, and all the future ones, for there can be no greater reward for me than the pleasure you have derived from reading them.
