Chapitre 24: Unexpected Guest

Malik was just looking at her as though she was the most important thing in the world to him. And the next, those warm brown eyes turned colder than ice, rejected her request, and stormed off. He left the house. And he didn’t come back. Not the next day. Or the day after that. Nor the day after that. Malik left her. She worried the entire time if he recognized her. Alfred did lovingly point out the resemblance she held of her ancestor Katrina Owens. Malik had recognized her. Why else would he leave? His absence turned her stomach.

One night, she was trying to sleep when her window suddenly shattered. She shot out of bed and ran across the room. A mysterious, hooded figure came through the window. Vanessa panicked and grabbed a lamp, holding it out threateningly. “Who the f*ck are you?”

The figure removed the hood revealing a familiar face, “Really V? A lamp?”

“RYLIE?!?!”

Rylie did a bow, “In the flesh.” She grinned, and Vanessa was everything but amused.
