"Still no answer?" Elvira asked as she bit on her nails.

Iris exhaled a loud sigh in frustration. "It's just kept on ringing and it's totally driving me insane. Should I just go upstairs to check?" 

Elvira creased her brows. "What are you going to check? Didn't you hear what Theo said, there's ongoing manslaughter upstairs. Going there is just like wanting to be killed yourself." 

Iris got up and handed the phone to Elvira. "You do the calling. I don't think I can tolerate more ringing," she said with a big sigh. She had been sighing like the world was going to end. Maybe it would, a small voice whispered at the back of her mind Iris recalled her dream and her body made an involuntary shiver.
