Chapitre 12: Who is the loser?
She felt quite possessive of Eric. If he needs to be hurt, he shall be hurt by Nashia herself. Not by others. She smirked as she could sense the darkness within him, but she was determined to put an end to his overconfidence.
With a swift motion, Nashia leaped and danced around Valoric, avoiding his attacks with ease. Her movements were so fast and smooth like butter, each step perfectly choreographed to counter his blows.
Valoric's eyes grew increasingly frustrated as he found himself unable to land a hit on the Empress. He knew her power but still at least one hit he expected.
As the battle raged on, Nashia began to toy with Valoric, using her agility and cunning mind to wear him down. The crowd watched in silence, mesmerised by the display of skill and power.
It was clear that Nashia was more than a match for the Valoric's brute strength. She hasn't even used her vampiric powers yet she is already so untouchable.
Valoric snarled and snarled, his eyes flashing with anger as he struggled to land a blow. But Nashia was a master of her craft, and she remained undefeated.
The outcome of this battle was all but certain. The match was truly worth seeing. The best knight of the empire, struggling to put up a fight in front of his empress.
Eric just sat on a chair outside of the battle ground, which Yura brought for him without making any moves as he waited to see what would happen next. He was curious to see how Nashia would deal with Valorics's power.
While occasionally wincing in pain as he felt his chest pain occasionally. He needs to take his medicine but he didn't bring that with him. So he waited to go back to his chamber.
As the time kept passing, Valoric grew tiring out himself, his aura growing weaker by minutes. While Nashia was still beaming with energy.
As she saw him getting exhausted, she quickened the pace on her feet. She took the chance like an eagle waiting for its prey to come to a hunting position.
She got him where she wanted him. She held out her sword at him as she thrust a few blows on him. He took the blows with the flat of his sword as he slid towards the edge.
She put more power on her sword cornering him. As his sword started to shake she put her final blow.
He was about to fall into the water behind him as he lost his balance. Valoric closed his eyes as he prepared to fall. All the crowds gasped as they saw him about to fall.
At that time, Nashia held his wrist to prevent him from falling as she pulled him up. He sat on the ground being exhausted.
"T-thank you, your majesty." He said while gasping for air as he looked up at her.
Nashia silently darted her gaze toward him as she stood silently. The announcer announced that she won the match as the match ended. However, Nashia's reply was rather cold for a victorious person.
"I didn't consider this a fight. You've grown weak, Valoric. I think you should consider yourself some training in the Glacier. You seem restless."
Nashia replied coldly to him as she swayed her hand and the sword in her hand dissipated into thin air. She turned back as she walked out of the battle ground.
As he heard her mention going to Glacier, he turned his head down. The arena fell to a pin drop silence.
The winner of the tournament, Sir Valoric was told to go back to train in Glacier. That means all the other knights were nothing but a blink of her eye.
Glacier, as its name implies, it's a cave situated in the north of the empire. In between the cold snowy mountains. It's a training cave for imperial knights who are training to be a commander.
The cave is extremely dangerous as it contains a very deep spacious area with hidden dangers. Also they must go out of the cave in the snowy mountain to hunt their own food.
Also this cave helps people gain control over their mind. While training there were many who ran away or died. After all, the position of the commander of the imperial divisions isn't something for beginners.
However, Valoric trained there and came back after finishing his training successfully a long time ago. Taking the spot of the commander of the first division of the imperial knights.
Yet he was told to go back there, which means that she was dissatisfied with him. She is telling him to take care of his mind indirectly.
The crowd was in awe and cheered at Nashia as she won the fight effortlessly as they dropped the chilling atmosphere. Eric's heart started to throb and ache deeply as he watched her walk back to her throne.
He was now starting to regret letting her save him as she was ignoring him once again. His mind became clouded with doubt and confusion.
But he was also thankful to her cause it seemed he would die there if she hadn't stepped in. He calmed down himself.
The only thing he could do now was just walk back to his throne and pretend to smile like a handsome fool.
But as he returned to his throne, Nashia glanced strictly at Eric but didn't utter a word to him. Instead she looked forward and spoke,
"Let the festival resume." The crowds cheered at her command.
Eric tried his best to ignore Nashia's glare and pretend to be okay. He was starting to feel a sharp pain in his heart. It was hard for him to keep up with the charade any longer as he felt the pain increasing.
Also he noticed that Nashia was keeping a distance from him ever since she stepped out from the battle ground. It's not like she gives him attention but at least she keeps the facade of a normal couple in public.
