"Greetings, your majesty. I'm Tasir. His highness's personal doctor."
Nashia nodded slightly at their greetings. She then spoke,
"I heard Eric took some painkillers. He might need some help now. I believe you two used to take care of him. From now on, you two will tend to him."
"Yura, call a maid to show them the way to his chamber."
"As you order your majesty."
She led them outside and called a maid to show them the way. She returned to Nashia's side after that.
"You must be tired now, Yura. You're dismissed. You can return and rest now."
Yura didn't pester her with any unreasonable questions and left her study chamber with a bow.
Most of the people of the Palace went to rest. But Nashia was the only one who remained awake. She stared at the night sky outside of her window thinking why she is doing this.
She should've ignored him but she ended up taking the hassle of bringing his close peoples here. She wants to be his nightmare yet she can't show her bad side to him even in an inch.
In Eric's bedchamber, he was curled into a ball under the bed sheet as his heart was still hurting. He felt his head heavy and drowsy.
Suddenly, in the silent room there was a sound of opening the gate. His ears perked up. Even though his heart hurted, Eric sat up in bed. His fear raised as he thought it was the person from before.
"Who is there?" He asked as he tried to find the person in the darkness.
"It's me, your highness." Sora replied to him while lighting up the candle's.
"Hello. My prince."
"Sora? Is it you? Is it truly you? How come, you are here?"
Eric jolted up as he heard the familiar soothing voice. He found her familiar face. A woman, who is 10 years older than him.
She was there to look after him from his childhood. She is the only maid who truly cared for him and raised him like her own little brother despite the harsh treatment she got from his family.
Eric used to talk to her about his feelings, and she never ever left his side. She always tried to raise him. So, him finding her at his chambers at this time in his state really made him feel a bit happy.
He quickly lifted his hands to hug her and reached out to her. He hugged her very tightly. She was there for him all along his childhood so she quickly understood that he was feeling lonely and sad.
Sora felt that his body was warmer than usual. She comforted her before pushing him away. She hurriedly checked his temperature.
"Your highness! You're burning up. Please lay down first. Doctor, please check him first."
She spoke with panic in her voice.
"D-Doctor? No! I won't."
Eric replied as he tensed up hearing about the doctor. He didn't saw Tasir's face behind Sora as he was too busy to emotionally believe Sora is here.
"Your highness. It's me. Tasir. Don't worry, you're safe with me."
Tasir replied in a soothing voice as he slowly approched him.
"Tasir? Hah! My goodness. You're here too? You should've spoken up. I got frightened."
Eric replied as he leaned back in the bed calmly.
"My apologies, your highness."
"It's fine."
"Keep the formalities for later. Check him first. His highness's body is so warm. I think he has a fever." Sora pestered Tasir.
"Don't be so hyped up, Sora. I'm fine."
Tasir checked up on him and saw his condition. His curse's effects have subsided a little but the physical pain of the heavy blow caused his high fever.
"My prince, you look so tired. Is your heart hurting once again? Why didn't you tell them about your disease?"
"They bought me and Lord Tasir because you don't let any vampire maids or doctors come near you."
"How generous of her majesty that she brought us here for you! You should've said her the truth"
"You are wrong Sora. She doesn't like me. Also it's not like I want to hide it. But you know that I'm helpless."
Sora started to realise the reason behind his actions.
"Is that the case, your highness? It looks like her majesty didn't tell us the details behind your relationship. I know your situation but.. It's still unacceptable."
Tasir brought some medicine to subdue his high fever. Sora brought cold water and a towel to give a wet towel on his forehead.
She kept comforting him. She sat beside him and held his hand tightly so she could support him and provide him the comfort and attention he needed. She sat beside him until he fell asleep.
In this way, a few days passed. Eric's condition stabilised again. Eric grew a bit happier as he got Sora back.
And there was no one tormenting him or Sora everyday like back in the days in the Zenith Empire. He had a peaceful day unless he met Nashia.
Nashia also ignored him as much as she could. As Nashia spent all her days diving into her work, she barely got a glance of him even by mistakes.
These days, Eric has become a bit out-going. Sora pestered him to get out of the room and get fresh air. He takes a stroll around the garden with Sora.
So, today as well, he went to take a stroll around the garden when he suddenly noticed a little kitten there.
The kitty's fur was a long black coat and pink eyes. It was very little. He went to catch the kitty. As he tried to touch it suddenly someone stopped his hand.
He looked up to see who it was, only to find Nashia standing before him. Sora and the other surrounding maids bowed seeing her.
Yura was standing behind Nashia. Eric stood straight and looked at her. He bowed slightly to her.
Nashia was wearing pants and a loose white shirt. Her hair tied up in a high ponytail and her body drenched with sweat.
