Synopsis
Garnetta Briars, a once-beautiful 17-year-old girl from a small town, is accidentally killed by a group of drunken boys while visiting her mother’s grave. As she lies dying, she is offered a second chance at life by Raphael, an ancient and mysterious vampire with a French accent. Raphael transforms Garnetta into a vampire, awakening her to a new world filled with both danger and power.
Now, 200 years later, Garnetta lives a life of solitude and restraint, feeding only on wild animals and honing her unique vampire ability to grow and manipulate briar roses that can siphon the life force of others. The roses serve as both a defensive weapon and a surveillance system, allowing Garnetta to protect herself and those she cares about.

Écrire un avisI really like what I'm reading so far. I do have one question though...Does she have fangs like a traditional vampire? I'm asking because 1. it would lame of she doesn't, and 2. I read somewhere that Twilight vampires don't have fangs.
Overall, the story isn't bad. The plot progresses quickly, and the MC has to flee her new abode after attracting the attention of some evil group. Everything was fine, although I did find the dialogue a bit boring. Its a bit too "old timey" for my taste, and they genuinely act like vampires in some "mysterious movie" that it almost seems like a funny joke to me. I would have kept reading if the author didn't suddenly say they wanted to make it into a harem. I appreciate the announcement, but I wished they had tagged it. I'm quite frankly sick of the number of harem stories in everything nowadays. It seems my endeavor in reading this, too, was a waste of time. How unfortunate.

so far so good, tho i feel the characters lack soul and personality besides the roles they play or are told to play, as well as, it feels like it has a starting of character arcs but hasn't gotten the time to develop. The story could benefit from having a time and date, like when it is set, which era/century, what world event is happening at the time in the human world etc.
