Chapitre 19: Interview

I walk side by side with Rafan, the boss will be in the office all day today. Today, in addition to checking reports, I must interview several applicants who have expressed an interest in working after being interviewed by Reno.

"Do you want me to make coffee or tea, Mr. Rafan?" I asked as soon as we both entered Rafan's room and he sat in his work chair.

"Coffee," he replied simply. "How many applicants do I have to interview today?" he asked, leaning back in his work chair.

Laras opened the tab he was holding and checked Reno's report on the names of the applicants who would be interviewed today.

"There are ten people, sir," Laras replied politely after verifying Reno's data.

For a brief moment, Rafan was deafeningly silent, his face numb and an eyebrow raised. "How come there are so many, and what kind of jobs do you have?" Rafan inquired.

Laras double-checked the information in his tab. "In fact, sir, it only takes seven people to replace my previous position one person; for factory workers, it takes four people, but these ten people are considered the best."

"Why should you be eliminated if you're performing at your peak? So it's not fair, is it? "Rafan spoke casually, but he managed to make Laras nervous.

How do I know why, Reno only told me that? Anyway, what's so difficult about just choosing, why do people like him have to think about fair and unfair when people like us can already accept injustice?

"Sorry, sir," Laras said stiffly, "I'll ask Mr. Reno again."

"Tsk! It's okay if you have to ask first, but don't keep asking; that's why you listen when people talk, so it won't be like this when asked "Rafan stated unconcernedly.

Patience Take a deep breath, Laras... Be patient!

"Please accept my apologies, sir," Laras said quietly.

Rafan didn't care, he raised his hand and moved to interrupt. "Make me a cup of coffee, please."

"Ouch... Mom's child is really handsome and it smells good as well, so you look handsome."

Javas' mother smiled broadly as he emerged from his room, dressed in a white long-sleeved shirt and black pants. Javas sat directly in front of his mother, who was waiting for him at the dining table; breakfast was ready, and Javas was now preoccupied with putting on his tie.

"Javas has been cool from the beginning, it's just mom who doesn't realize she has a handsome child," said Javas, making his mother smile even more as her hands spooned rice and side dishes onto a plate for her child.

"Yeah, yeah, mama's boy, he's really handsome."

Javas simply smiled, amused, at his mother's praise, perhaps his mother was overjoyed because her only child, who had been unemployed for months, had finally received a job call.

"Have you started work today or not?" his mother inquired as she handed Javas a plate of side dishes.

Javas gave a quick shake of his head. "No, today I still have to meet the company owner's big boss, yesterday the problem was that I only met the manager, so now it's the final thing that determines whether I get a job or not," he replied, then fed rice into his mouth.

"Oh well, I hope you get a job so that your knowledge can be blessed, son."

Hmmm.... Mother's mouth is really sweet if she wants it, and she feels her mother transforming into a good fairy with a mouth that is sweet like honey, as opposed to her usual mouth, which is sharp as salt and sharp as a knife.

"Yes, Ma, amen, and thank you for praying."

Both of them ate in a cheerful mood, and his mother was completely behind him, even bringing food for Javas.

"You be cautious."

Javas returned his mother's hand wave as he sat on his automatic motorcycle, donned a helmet, and prepared to ride to his destination.

"Of course, I'm leaving!" Javas said his goodbyes, and his mother, who was still standing in front of the house, greeted him.

There was silence between Laras and his boss Rafan; the boss was silent in his seat, his eyes wandering somewhere; occasionally he sighed and then moved his legs, causing his work wheelchair to move; however, Rafan appeared normal in comparison. In contrast to Laras, the woman appears awkward and uneasy because, despite knowing Rafan is blind, every time he looks into his boss's eyes makes him nervous.

"Mr. Rafan, do you require anything?" This is the umpteenth time Laras has asked, the reason being that it has been an hour since he delivered coffee to his boss, during that time they are just like this, it is unclear what they are waiting for, even Laras keeps looking at the clock on the wall, hoping that the clock will turn quickly until the time the interview arrived.

"No, why do you keep posing that question?" Rafan was irritated, his brows knitted together as a sign that he was disturbed by Laras' question, which rendered the woman speechless.

Yes, how can he not ask? He, who is used to being busy and even forgets to enjoy free time, is suddenly confronted with this rare condition, and he immediately becomes confused, awkward, and like an idiot who doesn't know what to do.

For the love of God! He'd rather Rafan give him a job than this.

"What time is it now?" Rafan inquired once more.

Laras looked at the wall clock. "It's nine o'clock, sir."

Rafan just nodded briefly and fell silent again, he actually seemed to enjoy the time now that he had to relax, as evidenced by his current behavior, which is leaning against his work chair so that he almost sleeps on his back while moving his legs makes the work wheelchair appear to swing himself.

"There's still an hour before dinner, so make me an omelette."

Huh ?!

This boss is truly unpredictable, I has no idea what is going through the boss's mind, yesterday he was also angry and threw a pillow at me, but everything was fine again, and now.... no wind, no rain, and a request for an omelette.

"Are you referring to the omelette?" Laras inquired, hoping he had misheard Rafan's order because it would be impossible, right, if he was the one who...

"Should I buy it? My people advise you to make an omelette rather than buy one."

Rafan's mouth spoke like a flowing stream, carefree, in contrast to Laras, who could now only stare with his mouth open.

I did, indeed. I asked Rafan to hire him, but.... For an omelette?

"Can you make an omelette or not?" Rafan questioned dismissively.

Laras stared silently at Rafan with face solemn. "You can, sir," Laras replied, still adjusting speech, "but the problem is that the ingredients aren't there; in the kitchen, there's only coffee and boiled noodles."

"if that means it's just a lack of eggs, the noodles are already there, right?"

What the hell happened? This implies that the boss wishes to prepare an omelette, however, what type of omelette? Isn't it true that the boss wants to make real foreign-style omelettes with milk and cheese, rather than Indomie omelettes in the Indonesian style? What could be the location of that omelette?

"Are you really capable of making an omelette?"

"Yes sir," Laras replied emphatically.

"Are you sure?'

"Certainly, sir."

What is it about this boss that irritates you?

Rafan didn't respond, but the corners of his lips lifted, irritating Laras even more when he saw Rafan's smile that looked down on him so much.

Knock, knock...

A knock on the door interrupted their argument. "Come in!" said Rafan, who immediately invited.

Reno walked into Rafan's room, his eyes first looking at Laras and Rafan alternately, Laras' face flat and his boss's face relaxed as usual, but Reno sensed a different air from the two of them, especially Laras.

"Good morning, sir," Reno said as he approached his boss.

"Morning, what's the matter Reno?" Rafan knew immediately when he heard Reno's voice.

"Mr. Rafan, I'd like to inform you that some applicants have arrived for the interview, do you want to expedite the interview or wait until it is completed at the scheduled time? Because I believe it would be preferable if it were completed quickly so as not to disrupt Pak Rafan's hectic schedule. this is"

People have been deafeningly quiet ever since!

Rafan immediately sat up straight, took a deep breath, and resumed his usual professional demeanor.

"All right, I agree with you, the sooner the better," he said. "Well, just call one by one, okay, I want to score one by one directly, just tell them to come in here," Rafan stated firmly and dignifiedly.

"Okay excuse me, sir."

Reno exited the room once more, preparing what Rafan desired, leaving Rafan and Laras in the large room.

"You made me an omelette while I was interviewing because as soon as I finished, I wanted to eat the omelette," Rafan explained after Reno had left.

"But sir... Pak Rafan, what kind of omelette do you want to make?"

"As usual."

"Which is simillar to....?"

"Omelete Omelette Laras! how many different kinds of omelette are there in the world that you're confused about?" Rafan grumbled.

"Okay, I'd like to make an omelette!"

It's stupid, If I won't be held accountable if the omelette me makes is incorrect, and who asked his boss to respond in this manner?

Laras walked out of the room just as he closed the door again, but her gaze was fixed on someone.

"Huh? But..."

Laras glared for a moment, She hand pointing at someone standing not far from him.

"Hey we meet again, you applied for a job too?"

The man looked at Laras with a bright smile, waving at him as if they were old friends reuniting.

Why was His here! the crazy man who kissed her at the dance?!
