Ellis approached Dr. Greene with a calm determination. She wasn't there to tear apart the witness—just to sow enough doubt.
"Dr. Greene," she began, "is it possible
Ellis's voice remained calm as she addressed Dr. Greene. "Dr. Greene, is it possible that the sedative found in Ms. Anders's system could have come from another source? Perhaps a different individual who had access to the same medication?"
Dr. Greene shifted in her seat slightly but held her ground. "It's possible, but unlikely. The sedative found in her system was a specific prescription given to Mr. Salud."
Ellis nodded, as if expecting that answer. "So, you're saying there's a chance—however small—that someone else could have obtained the same medication and used it to stage this crime?"
"There is a chance, yes," Dr. Greene conceded, her voice slightly more hesitant.
