*Next Day
The sun had just begun to rise over the Royal Capital, casting a golden hue over the grand city. Asta and Finral stood at a bustling marketplace.
Their eyes take in the opulence of the capital. The grandeur of the buildings and the lively atmosphere were a stark contrast to their usual surroundings.
"Wow!! this place is incredible! I've never seen anything like it!!" Asta exclaimed.
"Yeah, it's something else. But don't get used to it; we don't come here often." Finral said.
"Right, by the way, where did Captain Yami go?" Asta asked.
"He said he had some business to take care of after the Magic Knights Entrance Exam, we're just waiting on him,"
"I'm excited to see what the rest of the black bulls are like. I heard they're a pretty unique bunch," Asta said.
"You could say that. They're definitely, special..." Finral said avoiding Asta's eyes.
As they chatted, Yami finally arrived, strolling through the marketplace with his usual relaxed demeanor. He approached Asta and Finral with a casual wave.
Asta noticed Yami approaching with a young boy beside him who looked a little younger than him, shrouded in an aura of mystery. Asta's eyes widened with curiosity and excitement.
"Hey! Captain Yami! And... Who's that with you?"
"Yo. Asta, Finral. This is Ozul. He's our other new recruit I just picked up after a little... Incident,"
"Ozul, huh? Nice to meet you!!" Asta exclaimed smiling.
"Hello," Ozul said nodding slightly.
"This is the business you had?" Finral asked.
"Kinda," Yami said avoiding eye contact.
Finral sighed and then eyed Ozul with a mixture of intrigue and caution, noting the dark aura that surrounded him.
"Nice ta meet you," Finral said smiling.
"You too.." Ozul said.
Finral's curiosity got the better of him. He turned to Ozul with a curious gaze, eager to learn about their new comrade.
"So, Ozul, what kind of magic do you use?" Finral asked.
Ozul looked over at Finral, taking a moment to gather his thoughts before responding.
"My magic Is called 'Shadowstorm'" Ozul said as he thought of a name.
"What does it do?"
"It's cursed fire, I can control black flames, more powerful than normal fire magic and when I activate them, red lightning appears within the fire,
With my flames I can summon and control soldiers that look like humans or animals to fight with me, they have a ghostly, ethereal appearance and they're good in battle for offense and defense,"
"Awesome..."
"Whoa, that's an extremely powerful magic," Finral said amazed.
"Yea!! Just make sure you use it for good," Asta said to Ozul smiling.
"I'm still learning to control it, but I know."
Yami glanced at the three who were having a conversation about Ozul's power with a smug expression, he knew this was a chance to brag about Ozul's power.
"Yeah, Ozul's got all that power without even having a grimoire. Impressive, don't you think?" Yami asked smiling.
"Seriously? That's incredible, I've never seen anyone like that before," Finral said.
"Yeah, That's why we need to go to where the grimoire library is in the city right now so he can get one," Yami said.
"But, the day for everyone to get their grimoires this year passed," Finral said.
"That's why we're going to the Wizard King."
*******
Yami, Finral, Asta, and Ozul arrived at the Royal Palace. They were promptly escorted to a private chamber where the Wizard King, Julius Novachrono, awaited them, along with his assistant, Marx Francois.
Only Yami and Ozul were able to go in.
"Yami, it's good to see you. And this must be one of the new recruits that you got," Julius said looking at both Asta and Ozul.
"Yeah, This is Ozul, but we need to talk about his situation," Yami said as he looked at Ozul.
Julius's expression grew serious as he gestured for them to enter the private room. Once inside, Marx ensured the room was sealed for privacy.
while Ozul stayed back.
******
"Alright, tell me what happened," Julius said to Yami as the three were in a private room.
"We found Ozul in a pretty rough situation. His village turned on him, thinking he was some kind of demon. They attacked him, and in the chaos, he unleashed his power. The kid's got some serious abilities—black flames with red lightning inside it and another ability where he can make his flames into soldiers that go by his will, without even having a grimoire."
Julius's eyes widened in interest as Yami explained the events, glancing at Ozul with a mixture of concern and curiosity.
"That's quite the story. And you say he did all this without a grimoire?" Julius asked.
"Yeah, which is why I think it's about time he got one. I want to take him to the grimoire library." Yami said.
"I agree."
The three left out the room going back to the children who were waiting.
"Ozul, you've shown remarkable power already. Let's see what kind of grimoire chooses you. You can go to the library alone."
Ozul was led to the grand library within the palace, a vast room filled with countless grimoires floating in the air, their magic creating a soft, glowing ambiance.
Ozul stood in the center, feeling a strange pull as the grimoires began to respond to his presence.
After a moment, a single grimoire began to glow brighter than the others, slowly descending towards Ozul. It was a four-leaf clover grimoire, signifying great potential and fortune. The book's cover was adorned with intricate designs of black flames intertwined with crimson lightning bolts, and the edges of the pages shimmered with a dark, otherworldly glow.
Ozul reached out catching the grimoire.
"Incredible.."
As he held the grimoire, Ozul felt a surge of power course through him, amplifying his abilities and solidifying his connection to his magic.
Ozul emerged from the library, the four-leaf clover grimoire in hand. Waiting outside were Julius and Yami their expressions a mix of anticipation and curiosity.
A four-leaf clover grimoire… That's incredibly rare. Congratulations, Ozul." Julius said as he knew how powerful and unique you had to be to get one.
"It seems the grimoire has recognized your potential, Ozul. You've been chosen for greatness."
Yami nodded in acceptance.
The two left the Wizard King's office and met back up with Finral leaving the Royal Palace
"Finral, open a portal," Yami said.
"A please would be great..!" Finral exclaimed.
Finral raised his hands, and a swirling portal began to materialize, Its surface shimmering with magical energy.
"I can't wait to see what the Black Bulls' base is like!!" Asta exclaimed.
The group stepped through the portal, leaving the royal capital behind. As they emerged on the other side.
