Gao De took the yellow parchment from Yom and quickly scanned the information.
The spell list contained a total of five 0-Circle spells:
[Acid Splash] (Conjuration, 0-Circle)
Fires a small orb of acid at a target, with an initial maximum range of 25 feet (approximately 8.5 meters).
You must make a successful ranged touch attack to hit the target. The acid orb deals acid damage.
The acid from the orb dissipates after a few seconds.
[Resistance] (Abjuration, 0-Circle)
Infuses a target (which can be yourself) with mana to increase their spell resistance, thereby reducing the spell damage and effects they suffer. A single casting lasts for one minute.
[Blade Ward] (Abjuration, 0-Circle)
Trace a protective sigil in the air with your hand to grant yourself resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from weapon attacks.
[Ray of Frost] (Evocation, 0-Circle)
Fires a frigid blue-white ray at a target for a ranged spell attack, with an initial maximum range of 25 feet.
If it hits, the target takes cold damage and has their speed reduced.
[Read Magic] (Divination, 0-Circle)
You can decipher magical writings on items – books, scrolls, weapons, etc. – that are otherwise unintelligible. This deciphering usually doesn't trigger any magical effects contained within the writing.
Furthermore, once you have cast this spell and deciphered a particular magical text, you can understand the same text afterward without needing to resort to Read Magic again.
"Well? Are you satisfied?"
Gao De suppressed his excitement and looked up with a neutral expression.
Satisfied? Very satisfied!
How could he not be?
Yom's spell list not only included the offensive spells he desperately needed but also offered two of them.
However, the most important principle of negotiation was to never let the other party see your satisfaction with the goods, otherwise, they would inevitably raise the price.
"One or two of the spells are decent, barely meeting my needs. It's just that the number of spell formulas is a bit lacking," Gao De replied, offering a mixed review.
