Chapitre 57: Creating Custom Golems For Dummies!

※~・Arc 5: Newb Otherworlder; First Event・~※

Hey, Shun here!

Have you ever wondered what you would you do if you suddenly became a Dungeon Master, with your life tied to a Dungeon Core?

I certainly have not… Eh, I was lying. Of course I would think of it since I'm quite the fantasy loving person.

Maybe that prepared me for this. I think?

✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽

(Shun's POV)

It's quiet inside the Master Room. The only sound that could be heard was some clanging sounds beside the newly made bed.

It's the eleventh day of my stay in this fantasy world but all I did for now was craft golems. No newbie adventurer has passed by this place for a while now but I bet that it would only be for a while.

Rokuko said something about adventurers visiting her dungeon once or twice every month so it's only a matter of time before some newbs arrive in this newly renovated dungeon. However, our current problem is that we don't have any monster.

I've been trying to make new golem monsters that we could use to pit them against adventurers but it seems like I hit some kind of mental block. I need some inspiration.

While I was immersed in my own thoughts, thinking about the things I might be able to do with the golems, I suddenly heard a voice from beside me ears, interrupting me from my thoughts.

"Hey, Shun! I accidentally summoned a goblin by reflex!"

Looking over my shoulder, there's the face of Rokuko in her DP saving form, with a troubled expression on her face. You… I'm starting to think that you only summon goblins because you have some weird liking towards them.

"Do you have some kind of goblin fetish, Rokuko? Want me to fill a room with goblins, just for you?"

I immediately received a push from Rokuko. It looks like she slapped me but in truth, she just used her two small hands to push my face with all her might.

What's this? Some new kind of slap that I don't know about?

"NO! Why would you do that!? It's just that, I've been summoning goblins for ten years now and it kinda became a reflex for me to summon one…"

Ah, so that's it. She became so used to summoning goblins that she developed a muscle memory from summoning them too much… Or something? I could be wrong, though.

"You! What's with that look, Shun!? I'm telling the truth!"

Definitely quite suspicious but I'll believe her. It looks like she's gonna cry if I don't, after all.

In my opinion, the one who's at fault here is the Dungeon Core who told her to summon only goblins. She's definitely trying to sabotage Rokuko.

"I believe you, partner. You're my partner, after all. How can I not believe you?"

Rokuko seems to be satisfied by my reply as her expression immediately relaxed. The slightly bratty expression on her face returned as she began announcing her 'accomplishments' these last few days.

"Good! Anyway! I didn't come here to tell you just that! Actually, I just finished the room number 7! We can start building a new floor to the top or bottom now!"

Oh, that's certainly a major achievement.

"Good job Rokuko! We'll start building a floor to the bottom first, then. We can't start building to the top for now since we don't have a concrete theme yet. Also, it's much cheaper."

I just found out about it recently but it looks like the terrain of which you are in somehow affects the pricing in the DP Catalog. This pricing on the service of adding a floor is a major example.

If we want to add a floor towards the upper part of our dungeon, it costs 10,000 DP. On the other hand, if we want to expand our dungeon underground, it costs half the price of the former expansion service, 5,000.

I guess having the soil already present in it plays a major role on the pricing.

"Alright! I'll go buy the 'Add a Floor' service then!"

"Go for it. Also, can you call that goblin and make it come here. I want to do some experiments and I might need its help…"

"Okaay~! I'm off then!"

I watched as the bubbly girl leave, with Tsuka following her from behind. It looks like the two of them formed some close friendship without me even noticing it.

Moments after Rokuko left, a really ugly green skinned creature began approaching me. It's around the height of a normal human child and it's only wearing some rags while its weapon is only a wooden club.

"This guy doesn't even have an armor to protect himself. Also, his weapon is just too crude and could only hurt those careless newbies…"

Wait… An armor? A weapon? Didn't I make that really cool fantasy-esque vibrating stone golem sword that could cut trees?

If I could do that, can't I do that with armor as well?

What would be a good function for the armors though?

"Gobu?"

"Since you look extremely weak, why don't I make a golem that would assist you in moving? Right, I should teach the golem that you would wear a thing or two about the basics of using a weapon so that you guys would not easily lose… Ah, no I should just…"

Creative ideas once again started forming inside my head as I began to think about the entire theme of our dungeon. Once this is decided, this will be the main theme of our dungeon going forward.

Of course, I'm gonna consult Rokuko about this. She's my partner, after all.

✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽

And so, I began working on my ideas, trying to make it come true. It was extremely hard at first because it seems like, even though a goblin's body is like that of a human child, their anatomy seems to be slightly different.

In my past world, this was definitely not the case. Some imaginative individuals even depicted them as creatures who could impregnate humans.

That was the only trouble I had with my research, though. Everything was smooth sailing after I figured out the trick.

By the way, after a lengthy conversation with Rokuko, we agreed on the future theme of our dungeon. Since we wanted to attract the attention of almost all the adventurers, I suggested that we should build this dungeon up into a typical one.

What I meant by that is, we are going to focus on the main theme of every dungeon I've seen on the previous Earth and the current dimension I live in. And that theme is… Avarice.

Or in other words, Greed.

I am a human as well and I know for a fact that humans are greedy creatures. Thus, in order to milk out as much DP as I could from these human adventurers, we need to target their greed.

How? It's simple. Place coveted treasures inside the dungeon.

I already have an idea as to what treasure would be coveted by the adventurers of this world but in order to be sure, I'll need to visit a town soon to gather vital information.

Anyway, back to the previous topic.

Even if our dungeon's main focus is to pique the human's greed, we of course didn't forget our previous goal: "To accommodate a larger group of these adventurers."

And so, I worked on the dungeon's design and monsters day and night. I of course didn't forget to rest since I didn't want to once again experience a mental block.

Almost every room and the paths leading to them received some revamp but the general structure still stayed the same. The paths we made prior to the revamp was still there but we made other paths too, in order to make it more confusing and to accommodate the new tricks that I formulated.

As an aside, I replaced the doors of our dungeon into a golem made of some iron and stones. I plan to remake it with better raw materials at some point.

In the first room of our dungeon, we changed some things. We made the path starting from when you go down to the staircase that leads to the dungeon's entrance be divided into two.

As some kind of warning, I even put up a question asking them whether they have adventuring experience or not. If they don't, go to the left path. If they have experience already, go to the right path.

The left path leads to the first half of the first room wherein they will have to face regular Jellies and Goblins that are spawned from the spawners.

If they're newbies and they lied — deciding to go to the right path — well, good luck to them staying alive. I developed a golem armor to every monster that will be summoned by the spawner we brought.

We had to take those monsters to the master room in order for them to be able to wear those armors, giving us extra work, but it's all fine and dandy, I thought. I could just make a golem do all that work for us in the near future.

For the Jellies, basically the weak slime of this fantasy world, I made a clay round armor. That golem is just programmed to ram itself into a careless adventurer.

These armors didn't need magic stones since they're inside the dungeon.

As for the goblins, I made them a golem cloth armor and clay flippers, solely for their lower half. I taught those golem some basic foot work through the Dungeon Monitor and called it a day.

Right, I also made them some fingerless gloves that would assist their movements. Their club swings are now quite deadly.

These guys will be able to fight the bandit boss now. Good luck to those foolish newbies who wanted to pretend that they're some hotshot.

I and Rokuko will definitely remember you(a lie), and accept your offerings(DP).

I do hope there won't be such a stupid group, though. It would be such a shame if they die so stupidly.

If they somehow, by some kind of miracle, managed to kill those Goblins and Jellies, they'll be able to gain a greater reward than if they went to the left path.
