The police had arrived at the scene and secured it completely. They began collecting evidence and examining the crime scene. Shortly after, a detective wearing plain clothes arrived with his partner. Their badges, clipped to their belts, glinted in the dim light. They ducked under the yellow tape and entered the bar.

The detective made his way towards a familiar face, Officer Jake, who was standing over the body of Johnny alone, as he wasn't with his partner this time. The detective had known Johnny for years, a notorious figure who had always managed to evade justice every time he tried to catch him. A complex mix of satisfaction and frustration washed over him as he looked at the lifeless body.

"It looks like we got a bloody one on our hands this time," the detective remarked, his voice tinged with grim satisfaction speaking to his old friend. Jake turned to face him as soon as he heard his voice, a weary look in his eyes.
