Chapter 85: A Heated Encounter
As Yun Yun anxiously watched, Mo Yu finally returned to the cave after what seemed like an eternity. However, the young man was clearly in bad shape—his breathing was weak, and a large patch of blood stained his chest.
"Mo Yu, are you okay?" Yun Yun's delicate face lit up with relief when she saw him return, but it quickly shifted to concern as she noticed his injuries. She rushed over to check on him.
"Cough... Do I look okay?" Mo Yu weakly spat out some blood, suddenly feeling a sharp pain in his head. His vision blurred, and he collapsed to the ground, losing consciousness.
Earlier, to deal with the third-tier magical beast, Mo Yu had used a soul technique, which severely strained his soul power that had only just begun to recover after the last time.
Yun Yun quickly caught him as he fell, gently cradling him in her arms.
Luckily, this time, Mo Yu woke up rather quickly. As he came to, he vaguely felt a soft, warm arm wrapped around his waist.
"You're awake," Yun Yun said, relieved to see Mo Yu open his eyes. Her previously furrowed brow relaxed into a gentle expression.
"Yeah, I'm feeling a bit better." Mo Yu rubbed his throbbing head. The primary damage had been to his soul power, so his body wasn't as badly injured.
"Here, drink some water." Seeing Mo Yu's pale, pained expression, Yun Yun's beautiful face softened with concern and guilt. She gently brought a bowl of water to his lips.
Mo Yu had intended to take the bowl himself but, seeing Yun Yun's attentiveness, he let her feed him the water instead. With a beautiful woman caring for him, his spirits lifted considerably.
As Yun Yun noticed his improved mood, her own face reddened slightly. The situation and their closeness felt reminiscent of a couple in love, which made the usually composed Yun Yun feel a bit awkward. A strange emotion stirred within her heart.
"I'm sorry, I didn't expect things to turn out like this," Yun Yun apologized. The situation had made her more down-to-earth, and the usually proud and aloof sect leader found herself apologizing to Mo Yu.
Internally, Mo Yu thought, "If it weren't for my plans, I wouldn't bother with this." But outwardly, he simply replied, "It's fine. It was troublesome, but I managed."
Seeing Mo Yu's confidence, Yun Yun grew curious about how he had managed to fend off the third-tier magical beast, a creature as strong as a high-level Dou Shi. Few of the younger generation in the Jia Ma Empire could accomplish such a feat, not even her prized disciple, Nalan Yanran.
Although curious, Yun Yun didn't press the matter. She could sense Mo Yu's extraordinary nature, and since he had been injured because of her, she didn't want to pry.
Seeing this, Mo Yu also felt a sense of relief. He trusted that Yun Yun wouldn't repay his kindness with betrayal, but he didn't want to reveal too much just in case.
"I'm hungry," Mo Yu said. After battling a third-tier magical beast, he felt drained and famished.
"Oh...?" Yun Yun was momentarily surprised, then realized what he meant. He was asking her to make food. As the leader of the Yun Lan Sect, Yun Yun had never cooked before. Even her master, Yun Shan, had never tasted her cooking.
Mo Yu pointed to his injuries, implying that she should take pity on him given his condition. Seeing this, Yun Yun let out a small laugh, then mockingly huffed, "Serves you right for being reckless. You're still so young, yet you act all tough."
Despite her teasing, Yun Yun quietly turned and began preparing to cook, leaving Mo Yu with a view of her graceful figure.
Watching Yun Yun crouch down to start a fire and roast the wild boar, Mo Yu took a moment to admire her again. He hadn't expected the aloof sect leader to have such a gentle, endearing side.
Shaking his head, Mo Yu formed a hand seal and began meditating, entering a state of cultivation after a short while.
Half an hour later, Yun Yun called him to eat. Rubbing his hungry stomach, Mo Yu looked at the large, somewhat charred roasted boar in front of him. A small smile tugged at his lips as he looked up at Yun Yun, who was watching him expectantly. "So, this is your roasted boar?"
"This is my first time cooking. Even if it doesn't taste good, you still have to eat it all. Otherwise, when I recover..." Yun Yun's lips curved into a slight smile, her tone carrying a hint of threat despite her gentle words.
Mo Yu chuckled, cutting off the most tender part of the boar's hind leg and offering it to Yun Yun before he began devouring the rest of the roast meat.
Seeing this, Yun Yun smiled too, gently nibbling on the roast meat. She was pleased with Mo Yu's response to her cooking.
As Mo Yu ate more of the boar, his hunger began to subside. However, halfway through his meal, he started to feel uneasy. His body began to heat up, and he found himself shifting restlessly.
"Uh... Mo Yu, do you feel... something's wrong?" Yun Yun asked softly, her cheeks flushed as she stood before him.
Mo Yu looked up, and his heart skipped a beat. Yun Yun's face was now a deep, alluring red, and her usually clear eyes had grown hazy.
"Something's definitely wrong..." Mo Yu muttered with a bitter smile. His body was heating up unnaturally, and worse, this heat was triggering the latent fire within his Tian Gang Thunder Body, making it increasingly difficult to control.
He sighed heavily as he realized the heat was becoming unbearable. He tried to suppress it with his Dou Qi, but the rising fire was relentless.
Yun Yun, too, felt her body growing hotter by the second. She was overwhelmed by an urge to strip off her clothes, but her past discipline as a Dou Huang allowed her to resist the impulse, even with her power sealed.
After a brief analysis, they both concluded that the problem must have come from the roast boar they had eaten.
"When I hunted the boar, I found the corpse of a He Snake nearby. Could it be that the boar accidentally ingested the snake, causing some mutation in its meat?" Mo Yu speculated, struggling to keep the fire within him at bay.
The He Snake was known as a lustful serpent, often used in aphrodisiacs. Mo Yu's theory seemed plausible.
Yun Yun's face turned even redder, and she stamped her foot in frustration, exclaiming, "How did we end up in such a situation? What do we do now?"
"Suppress it with Dou Qi. The He Snake is only a first-tier magical beast, and the poison should be diluted after passing through the boar. It shouldn't be too strong. Just suppress it," Mo Yu advised, quickly closing his eyes and focusing his Dou Qi to suppress the growing heat.
Yun Yun tried to do the same, but when she attempted to use her Dou Qi, she realized in frustration that her power was completely sealed by the Amethyst Seal. There was nothing she could use to control the heat spreading through her body.
As the fire in her heart burned hotter, Yun Yun's eyes grew more unfocused, and the heat began to overwhelm her mind.
"You try to suppress it. I can't stay here—I need to leave!" A cool breeze from the cave entrance briefly cleared Yun Yun's mind. Gritting her teeth, she decided to run out of the cave, hoping to escape the fire within her.
Mo Yu, who was focused on suppressing his own inner fire, opened his eyes when he heard Yun Yun's words. His expression changed instantly. If she ran out of the cave and lost control, who knew what might happen if she encountered magical beasts?
Quickly jumping off the stone bed, Mo Yu rushed over and grabbed Yun Yun from behind.
"Yun Zhi, don't go out! If you lose your mind out there, some magical beasts are just as interested in human women, like the He Ape..." Mo Yu's words sent a shiver down Yun Yun's spine. She had heard of the He Ape's terrible reputation, and the thought of being violated by such a filthy beast made her stomach churn with nausea.
Caught in a dilemma, Yun Yun suddenly bit down on Mo Yu's shoulder out of frustration. But the proximity to him only heightened her awareness of his presence, and she found herself losing control even further.
As her teeth released his shoulder, the cool sensation made Mo Yu shiver, reigniting the flames within him. His arms tightened around her waist, and he could no longer suppress the fire burning inside him.
With his soul power depleted from battling the third-tier magical beast, Mo Yu could no longer hold back the evil fire rising within his Tian Gang Thunder Body. Unable to fight it any longer, he gently laid Yun Yun on the stone bed as the last of his clarity faded...
