Chapitre 10: The first Blow
" Were you serious about what you said in there?"
Scott asked Clark as he and a few others sat in the institute.
" Yeah, Scott. I was serious."
Clark replied as he took a sip from his drink.
" Well, we're sitting this out."
Logan stated bluntly.
" I'm glad to hear that, Logan. The mutants have been through enough already. You guys don't need to fight in a civil war."
Clark replied.
" You don't need to tell us that."
Emma retorted.
" Emma do you always need to give me the cold shoulder? You really are beautiful but if you keep frowning like that, you're going to mess your face up."
Clark joked.
" Ha!"
Logan laughed as he took a swig from his cup.
" You really think there's going to be a war?"
Emma asked solemnly.
" Yeah, I do. And it saddens me to know that so many people are going to get hurt before it ends."
Clark explained to the woman.
" Well, you're welcome here anytime. Just give us a heads-up before you show."
Scott explained.
" Yeah, just make sure to wear something a little less conspicuous."
Emma said as well.
" Thank you, guys. I appreciate it. But a word of warning to you all. The heroes are going to be distracted. Which means your enemies are going to be able to move more freely than before."
Clark explained.
" What do you mean, like someone is going to attack the school?"
Scott asked.
" Wouldn't surprise me. The bastards are evil sons of bitches."
Logan replied.
" I'm saying it's possible. I don't know for sure, but it definitely is possible."
Clark stated bluntly.
" We'll make sure to keep the kids close and under watch."
Scott replied.
" Can I tell you something Scott?"
Clark asked.
" What's up?"
Scott responded back.
" I miss Jean. This place seemed so much brighter with her around."
Clark said to the man as he stared down at his empty cup.
" It was. Her smile alone could brighten up the darkest of places. She was a light this world didn't deserve."
Scott exclaimed.
Clark took a deep breath and wiped his eyes as tears were forming, the weight of the world suddenly placing itself on the man's shoulders.
" Why are you crying? Ain't nothing bad ever happen to you."
Logan stated bluntly.
" Sorry, Logan. But you have no idea how wrong you are. But that story is for another time. I think it's time I get going. I have some safe houses I need to setup before Shit hits the fan."
Clark said as he got up from his seat.
" Thank you, guys, for having me over. I hope things get better for you guys. But if you need help, please call me. Too many children have been lost already."
Clark said before leaving the institute.
It was a week after the meeting at the Baxter building that Clark had gone to meet with the X-men a week later, the bill was passed, and Registration became required by Law.
" Superman help."
Clark heard a voice calling out to him for help and rushed towards it. Arriving to see the person calling was captain America.
" Not nice to call Wolf captain."
Superman said to the man.
" Sorry, Superman. But I need your help. You were right about this. About all of this. And I can't let this go on. I'm forming my own team to help fight this Registration Act and I was hoping someone as influential as you would be willing to help me."
Steve explained to the man.
" Steve, I want to stay neutral in all of this. Until the law goes in effect in seven days. That is how I will remain. If nothing changes in these next seven days, then I will gladly help you. But if something does change. If the people can be convinced this is wrong, then I'm sitting this out."
Clark explained.
" And that's perfectly fine Superman. I will give you a code word to meet me in seven days. It will be Salazar exodus! In seven days, I will speak that phrase. I hope by then you're right."
Steve said before walking away.
Clark waited and watched over the seven days until finally the registration act came into law, and on that night the young avengers were arrested.
" I gave them a chance to do the right thing. I warned Stark. He's thrown the first punch. Now I hit back."
Clark said before flying out of his apartment one last time. He headed to save the young avengers.
" You see the trouble you caused? You see what happens when you try to be some big bad vigilante like your buddy, Captain America?"
A shield soldier said as he hauled the young avengers away.
Suddenly a large object struck down near the soldiers and sent them flying.
" What the hell?!"
one of the men asked as he got to his feet.
In the blink of an eye a red and blue blur freed the young avengers.
" Superman?"
Wiccan called out.
" Are you with me kids?"
Superman asked.
" Yes!"
They all replied.
" Then move fast and hit hard!"
Superman said before launching into the shield soldiers sending them flying left and right. Suddenly a hand grabbed superman by his shoulder he turned around to face the threat and was surprised by what he found.
" Salazar Exodus! It's me Superman!"
Steve said to the man.
" You dressed up like a shield agent, brave Steve! Very Brave! Do you have an exit plan?"
Clark asked.
" yeah, I do. it's called Wiccan. Wiccan cast a spell and get us out of here and hurry!"
Steve yelled to the young man.
Wiccan nodded and began chanting his spell.
" Iwanttobesomewhereelse!"
Wicann repeated over and over again.
Suddenly a blue energy field surrounded the young avengers and The others and teleported them somewhere else.
" Whoa! That did not feel right."
Clark explained.
" Oh god, what's happening? Where are we?"
Stature asked in a panic.
" Congratulations everyone! You all just joined the resistance."
Steve explained as daredevil entered the room.
" What is this place?"
Stature asked.
" SHIELD, safe house number thirty three. One of twenty-eight such places peppering the globe, and only known to thirty-third degree shield officers."
Steve explained.
" And how many of them are there exactly?"
Clark asked.
" Just Nick Fury."
Steve replied.
" He's underground now too. And can only be reached via scrambler phone, but he said we could use this place for as long as we like. And he's already working on our new secret Ids."
Daredevil explained.
" Why do we need new secret Identities?"
patriot asked.
" Most likely because our old ones are compromised."
Clark replied.
" And because you're going to need somewhere to be when we aren't out there kicking assess and taking names."
Cable stated.
" This is where we live for the duration. Tony crew is planning something huge out there. And this is where we start to fight back."
Steve explained to the team.
" Guy, I think you better see this."
Another resistance fighter yelled out to the group. They all ran over to the screen to see Tony giving a speech.
" Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm sure I don't have to introduce you to Mrs. Miriam Sharpe. Mrs. Sharpe, you may recall, lost her son in the stamford incident and kick-started my passion for federal employment of all superheroes. Likewise I'm sure Spiderman needs no introduction."
Tony explained as Spiderman joined him on the stage.
" No!"
Superman shouted before taking off towards the press conference.
" Superman wait!"
Steve called out.
" Um, as most of you probably know, I've uh, guarded my secret Identity pretty carefully over the years... And it's only after a long talk with my wife and family that I decided to take the following step. See, the registration act gives us a choice: We can continue the trend that Captain America advocates and have people with powers completely unchecked... Or super heroes can go legitimate and earn back the publics trust. I'm not wearing my old mask because I'm ashamed of what I do. I'm proud of who I am, and I'm here right now to prove it."
Spiderman explained as he slowly started to take his mask off. Suddenly Superman raced into the room and stopped the man from removing his mask.
" Huh!"
the crowd gasped as Superman appeared.
" Kid what are you doing?"
Superman asked.
" I'm doing what's right Superman, please don't stop me."
Spiderman stated.
" Kid you don't understand the consequences of what you are about to do. You really don't! You do this and your life as you know it goes away completely! No more privacy! No more alone time with your wife! You will have to live every single day of your life wondering whether or not your family is safe or not. Kid I'm begging you please don't do this!"
Superman begged Peter not to reveal his identity.
" He's made his choice Superman. I suggest you do the smart thing and join him."
Tony exclaimed.
" Yeah! Tell us who you are!"
Someone from the crowd yelled.
" You cold heartless bastard Stark! Don't use this kid to push your agenda!"
Superman yelled.
" I'm not a kid. I'm Peter Parker. And I'm Spiderman."
Peter stated as he took his mask off.
Hundreds of photos were taken in an instant as peters Identity was broadcast to the world.
" No! PETER! Do you realize what you've just done?! You just put your aunt and your wife at the top of every single one of your villains Kill lists! Don't you get that?!"
Superman asked in anger.
Suddenly the doors burst open, and the rest of the Avengers and Shield rushed in.
" Take him down now!"
maria Yelled.
Superman Grabbed Tony and threw him at the guards before bursting out of the conference hall.
People around the world were shocked by the events that had just transpired.
" Did that really just happen?"
Bobby asked.
" Yes, bobby I do believe it did."
Hank replied.
" Starks gone to far. Clarks right, that boy's family just got a hit put out on them."
Logan explained.
" I know we said we'd stay out of this. But I have a feeling they're going to drag us into this no matter what happens."
Scott explained to the group.
In a hospital building in New York.
" What have you just done Reed?"
Susan asked as she watched the news.
" He's gone too far Susan. I can't stand by this."
Ben exclaimed.
" Oh, peter I'm so proud of you."
Aunt may exclaimed.
" Me too may."
Mary jane stated as the two watched the broadcast.
The world of heroes is bound to shake up from this.
" Tony's gone too far. Now there's no going back for any of us. The war has begun!"
Superman said as he flew through the air.
