" Things have been good so far, I wonder if I'll get the chance to meet any of the other heroes."
Jay said to himself as he flew over New York city. Suddenly Jay could hear a large group of people chanting something.
" No more mutants! No more Mutants! No More Mutants! No more Mutants!"
A crowd chanted as a Group of men Circled around a young Red haired Metal woman, A gold skin colored boy, a blue-haired woman, and a young African American boy.
" Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! that's enough everyone."
Jay said as he floated down to the ground. Putting himself between the teens and the angry crowd of people.
" Thank god It's Superman."
One of the rioters yelled out.
" Superman, those beasts were trying to attack us. They're monsters."
One of the men said as he approached superman.
" That's not what happened at all! You bastards attacked us just because we're Mutants!"
The blue-haired woman yelled.
" What's the matter with all of you, these are teenagers. Kids! The only Monsters I see are the ones Crowding around a bunch of teens. You should all be ashamed of yourselves."
Superman berated the group for their ugly attack on the young Mutants.
" You four Grab on! I'm taking you home."
Superman said as he turned to the four young teens.
" How do we know you aren't one of them huh? How do we know you aren't gonna take us prisoner?"
The blue haired woman asked as the three other mutants looked at the man for an answer.
" You don't. If you don't want me to carry you home. Then I'll sit with you until someone you trust does come. If that's what you want."
Jay replied. The four mutants looked to each other and began conversing. After a few minutes they returned to the man with an answer.
" We don't want to wait too long. If we do then we'd be leaving ourselves open for an attack. If you wouldn't mind walking us home, we'd appreciate it greatly."
The young African American said to Jay.
" Wouldn't be a problem at all. Lead the way."
Superman said as he gestured for the group to move on. The young teenagers all moved ahead of the man letting Jay walk behind them for protection.
As they were walking the Blue-haired young woman kept looking back at Jay, watching him for any sign of an attack.
" I understand you're being cautious young lady, but I'm not out to get you. If I was so bad, would I have stepped in, in the first the place?"
Jay asked.
" You'll have to forgive Noriko; we aren't really used to non-mutants helping us."
The golden skin boy spoke up.
" Ah Noriko! That's a beautiful name. Japanese, I think it means something along the lines of Law, or rule, or code, or ceremony, right?"
Jay asked
" Yeah, something like that."
The woman replied.
" So, her name is Noriko. What about the rest of you?"
Jay asked
" My names Josh! That's David and That's Cessily."
The golden skinned boy said as he pointed to the two other Mutants both of whom looked back him a little displeased.
" Oh, come on guys, he's not so bad. I mean he is helping us get home. And besides this is Superman."
Josh said to the group.
" Wait that new hero that's been showing up recently? That Superman? You're him?"
Cessily asked.
" Yes, that's me."
Jay responded with a smile on his face.
" But you don't look that much older than us. I mean yeah, you're pretty stacked, but you can't be any older than twenty-five."
Cessily stated.
" Well, you're close. I'm actually twenty-one."
Jay said to the group shocking them.
" Wait really dude? Twenty-one! That's it?!"
David asked in surprise.
" Yeah, That's it."
Jay replied again, this time letting out a small chuckle.
" So, what can you do?"
Josh asked curious on the man's powers.
" Let's see, Flight of course, Super speed, Super strength, and Heat vision."
Jay answered. Purposefully leaving out Super hearing and X-ray vision as too not repeat what happened on the Quin jet.
" Dude that's a lot. I can heal just about any Injury."
Josh replied.
" That's awesome man. A healing power like that will always come in handy, no matter the situation."
Jay said to the boy.
" Thanks man."
Josh replied.
" What about the rest of you? I'm curious now."
Jay said as he asked the others their powers.
" I can memorize anything and use it as my own, fighting styles, languages, Etc..."
David answered
" My body is made of mercury that i can bend and change to will."
Cessily answered as her hand changed into different shapes and weapons.
" Those are both really interesting powersets. What about you Noriko?"
Jay asked
Noriko raised her hand and electricity sparked from her gauntlets.
" I control electricity."
Noriko stated bluntly.
" That's pretty Lethal. Does it burn your hands when you use your power? is that why you wear the gauntlets?"
Jay asked as he observed the woman's hands.
" No, they help me keep my powers in check. Otherwise, I'd be blasting electricity from my hands uncontrollably."
Noriko explained.
" Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure that's rough."
Jay said to the woman.
" What would you know?"
Noriko asked
" You should have seen when I first got my powers. Imagine the feeling of your eyes burning and nearly roasting yourself. Or trying to take a step and running full speed into a wall."
Jay said with a laugh.
" Man, that sounds like it was rough."
Josh spoke.
" Yeah, it took some time getting used to. And I'm sure Noriko if you continue to practice, you'll be able to use your powers without your gauntlets. If you want, I'd be more than happy to help you practice."
Jay said offering the young woman his help.
" Why would you help me? Why did you help us in the first place?"
Noriko asked in bewilderment.
" Because it was the right thing to do. Anyone who sits idly by while a bunch of grown men and women assault teenagers should be ashamed of themselves. I don't care what you call yourself human, mutant, inhuman, alien it doesn't matter. I will always be there to save those who need to be saved. And to me it looks like you need help controlling your powers better."
Jay answered honestly. The four young mutants all looked at him with smiles on their face.
" Thank you. Not too many humans would say much less do the same thing you've done for us."
David said to the man.
" No thanks is needed David. I might not be able to be there for you guys everyday all day, but when you need me, I'll be there for you."
Jay said to the teens.
After a few minutes of walking the group arrived in front of a large school.
" Well, this is it. Thank you for walking us home Superman."
David thanked the man.
" No problem, David."
Jay said to the boy.
" Glad to see you're all alright. I was just about to come get you."
A tall man with brown hair and red sunglasses said as he walked towards the schools gates followed closely by a woman with Red Hair and woman with platinum blonde hair.
" Mr. summers. Ms. grey. Ms. Frost. Sorry we're late. We got attacked by a group of mutant haters in the city."
David explained to the three teachers.
" I see and who are you?"
Scott asked as he looked at Jay.
" That's superman! He saved us and walked us home."
Josh answered excitedly.
" Superman? The new guy huh? Well, you have our thanks for getting the students home safely."
Jean said to the man with.
" No problem, Ms. grey. Just doing what any sensible adult should."
Jay said as he held out his hand for the woman to shake. Jean went to shake his hand but was stopped by Scott.
" We appreciate you helping our students. But I must ask you to leave now."
Scott said to the man.
" Ahhh!"
Emma yelled in agony. She grabbed her head and collapsed to the ground.
" Emma! What did you do?"
scott asked as he placed his hands on his glasses.
" Nothing! She just collapsed is she okay?"
jay asked.
" I'm fine scott. I'm fine. Just too much information to try and take in all at once."
Emma said as she struggled to her feet.
" Are you okay ma'am?"
Jay asked as he helped the woman to her feet.
" Yes, thank you."
Emma responded.
" I'm sorry Superman. Again, we appreciate you bringing the students back. Why don't you come inside?"
Jean asked inviting the man in.
" I don't think I'm wanted here."
Jay responded.
" Nonsense man, I know some of the younger kids would love to meet you."
Josh said to the man.
" I insist please come in."
Jean said with a smile.
" Well, if you don't mind then I'd be happy to."
Jay said as he and the others began walking towards the school.
' Whoa this is Xaviers! This place is huge.'
Jay thought as he got closer to the school.
The group of students arrived just in time for the rest of the school to let out. The bells rang and students began pouring out of the classrooms.
" It's superman!"
One of the students yelled drawing attention to the man instantly. A lot of the young kids started running at the man, practically swarming him.
" See i told you the kids loved you."
Josh said with a smile on his face.
" Okay, kids settle down. Don't swarm the poor guy."
A Hairy blue man said as he walked into the room.
" Hello Superman, my name is Hank Mccoy."
Beast said as he introduced himself to the man.
" Nice to meet you Mr. Mccoy."
Jay said as he shook the man's hand.
" You don't seem frightened by mine or any of the children's appearances."
Beast said
" Why would I be. I've seen many things in my short life Mr. Mccoy and trust me I've learned not to judge a book by its cover. And besides these are kids. What kind of man picks on children for being different?"
Jay explained.
" More than you think Superman. More than you think."
Beast replied.
" Hey, what's going on? What's with all the noise?"
A young woman with brown hair tied into a ponytail asked as she came down the stairs followed by a big man with short cut black hair.
" Peter! Kitty! We have a visitor."
Jean said as the woman walked into the foyer.
" Hello Comrade! I am peter."
The big man said as he walked up to Jay. he held his hand out for Jay to shake it.
" Hello peter. I'm Superman."
Jay said as he shook the man's hand.
" Quite a strong grip you have there friend."
Peter said.
" You're quite strong as well."
Jay responded.
" You two knock off your little testosterone game."
Kitty said as she walked up to Jay.
" Hi, Superman, the names kitty Pryde."
Kitty said holding out her hand for the man to shake.
" It's a pleasure Ms. Pryde."
Jay said as he shook the woman's hand
" Superman! Superman! Between you and Peter who's stronger?!"
One of the kids asked excitedly making both men laugh.
" I am!"
" I am!"
Both men replied at the same time. Both men then turned and stared at each other intensly.
" You thinking what I'm thinking?"
Jay asked as he looked at the man.
" Da, we settle this in the wrestling of arms."
Peter replied.
" Yeaaaah!"
The kids yelled in excitement.
" Oh lord."
Kitty said as she held her face in her hands.
The two men walked over to the nearest table and put their hands on it.
" What is going on down here?"
A short scruffy man asked as he came down.
" It seems our guest and peter are having a test of strength. He and peter are having an arm-wrestling competition.
Scott said to the man.
" Someone's trying to overpower the tin man? Brave."
Logan responded.
Logan walked over to the two and held their hands together.
" Ready you Pete?"
Logan asked
" Da."
" Ready Bean pole?"
Logan asked Jay
" Yeah."
" Start!"
Logan yelled as he released the two men's hands.
" Why are you encouraging them?"
Scott asked
" Oh, come on Scott the kids are excited. Let them have some fun."
Jean said to the man as Peter and Jay went at it.
The two men pushed against each other trying to overpower the other. Pete using all of his strength to win and Jay holding back greatly to entertain the kids.
" You are strong comrade; I need to stop holding back."
Pete said as his body began to change into a form of metal. His grip on Jays hand tightening significantly.
" Then I'll do the same."
Jay said as his grip on peter increased as well.
Peter tried with all of his might, but Jay steadily wrestled his arm to the table ending the match in his victory.
" Yeah! that was awesome! Superman won!"
The students cheered as Jay overcame Peter.
" Whoa, he actually beat peter. Impressive!"
Kitty said in shock.
" Yeah, no kidding. Bean pole is strong."
Logan said as he too looked slightly surprised.
" Well, done comrade. You are very strong."
Peter said to Jay as he transformed back.
" You as well Pete. that was fun."
Jay said as he shook the man's hand.
" All right kids, back to your classes."
Jean stepped forward and said to the kids.
Jay laughed as the kids all let out a breath of sadness over having to go back to class.
" Don't worry you'll see me again. If you're teachers would let me?"
Jay said as he looked at the six teachers.
" We'd love to have you again."
jean said, though scott and Emma didn't look all too excited about it.
" Well then, I think it's probably time for me to leave. It was good to meet you all."
Jay said as he walked towards the X-men.
" Yes, thank you."
Jean said as she showed the man to the door.
Jay opened the door and took off in the air.
' Sometimes, it's nice to be able to help without punching someone. Really it feels nice just being able to make kids smile by being nice to them.'
Jay thought as he flew through the air smiling, as he headed home.
