"Where am I?"
Notice: The user has been asleep for 3 days.
Seth looked around as he couldn't believe where he was.
Notice: The User is on the Northern side of the Desert Plains of Carabis.
Notice: The Ruin of Blaze is within sight.
Seth looked behind him and he saw a pyramid in the distance. The whole area was a whole desert in which all he could see were dunes for miles and miles away.
"I'm surprised that I can't feel the heat even though I'm in the desert."
Notice: The user resisted the weak environmental debuff because of the passive skill: Dragon Soul.
"Ah, right. I did have such a skill."
He tried to remember what had happened so far.
(I remember being suspended in the air and cannot do anything. In front was an Ancient Dragon.)
Notice: The system was forced to sacrifice "Guardian" and all monster-related materials that contain the energy to be consumed to create the Unique Skill: Forced Irregularity. This teleported the User randomly, nullified any negative status as well as made sure that the user is not chased by the Enemy. The skill has been used and cannot be found in the Character Skill menu.
"So technically, I was given another chance to live. Hahaha. Why is someone like that even alive? I was literally frozen in place and couldn't do anything."
Notice: The system will try to sacrifice and do anything at its disposal when faced with an unbeatable opponent to prioritize the survival of the User.
"First of all, I will never visit that area again until I'm someone of the same lvl as that Ancient Dragon. Second, I'll be warier in the areas I enter."
Notice: The System has conducted possible scenarios as to why that happened to the User and the most likely answer includes the two people that the User met prior to the Ancient Dragon attacking the user.
"What do you mean."
Notice: Correlations include the Summoned Wolf-Giant in front of the Ruins, The special requirement to summon the HoarFrost Dragon Lord as well as the killing of thousands of dragons within a short period of time to awaken the Ancient Dragon Lord of Frost. Those two, after a rough estimate of their achievements as well as their quick presence in front of the User, are three to five times the User's level. They are the most likely culprit.
"I see. So their level is around 160- 200+."
(I should be prepared once I see them again if they are that strong.)
Notice: Rim can be ascended.
"Oh, I forgot I did clear the Ruins. Wait, where did Rim go."
Rim suddenly popped out of Seth's bag.
Notice: Requirements have been met for the level ascension of Rim. Proceed with the ascension?
"Yes."
Notice: 1x Ruin artifact will be consumed. Ascension is completed.
Notice: Rim's max lvl is now 100. Rim has learned the skill, "Mimic." Rim can turn into a monster/higher monster that the User has defeated and use their skills depending on their adapted affinity and equipped item. Rim has the affinity of Frost from adapting to the environment of Mount Feris as well as the item, Dragon Persona. Rim can mimic the HoarFrost Dragon Lord.
"This is a passive skill. So Rim can change to this form whenever he likes, huh?"
Seth looked at what was left of his inventory.
Character Inventory:
4x Ruin Artifact
1x Demon Gate Key
1x Frost Ring
.
Notice: Can equip accessory, Frost Ring.
(Equip.)
Frost Ring:
-Immune to Frost/Ice attacks.
-Deals 50% Magical Ice damage when hitting an opponent and will put them into the Frostbitten state. The frostbitten state makes that part of the Enemy Freeze. This effect slows the enemy's speed by 15% for 30 seconds. Stacks up to 5 times.
.
"This is a pretty neat ring. It goes well with my fighting style and it stacks the same with my Undying Flames."
(Hmmm... What do I do with the other Ruin artifacts? I guess I will need it to ascend my level as well when I reach lvl 100. As For this Demon Gate Key...)
Notice: Demon Gate Key (Dungeon lvl 50)
-1 of the 9 Demon Gate Keys that can be acquired from the Ruins.
-The resting place of the Demon Race. The old heroes of the world had sealed the demon race into 9 different dungeons.
-Opens a dungeon in the designated area. A Dungeon that can be entered multiple times until cleared.
Opponents:
-30,000 Demon Spawns (lvl 55)
-3 Vice General Demon Spawns (lvl 70)
-1 General Demon Spawn (lvl 80)
-Can leave and enter the dungeon whenever. The dungeon is active until cleared.
Notice: Can activate the Demon Gate Dungeon.
"Let's see the surroundings first. Hmmm... There really is nothing besides that Pyramid over there. I'll just camp beside the pyramid and open the dungeon beside there."
(I'm guessing this dungeon is a grinding area to increase my level. If there are thousands of enemies there, it will take me some time to fully clear it.)
Seth went towards the Pyramid.
Notice: It is highly likely that there is an Ancient Dragon in Slumber Nearby.
"You should've said that sooner!"
Notice: Most of the Ruins in the current continent are within the territory of the Ancient Dragons that correspond to their element.
"So should I run away from this area then?"
Notice: Ruins are meant to be cleared. Unless the User will take an unnecessary action to force the Ancient Dragon to wake up from its slumber, there is no need to worry about the same incident happening.
"Well, I guess we are on the opposite side of the continent. There is no way that those two who awakened the Ancient Dragon of Frost are here as well."
Notice: Pyramid is within range. Lvl Requirement is 70.
(I'm still 56. So I really need to Grind the hell out of this dungeon first.)
"Are there even animals here? I don't know how long I can survive here in the desert."
Notice: There are an abundant amount of animals here in the desert.
Notice: Rim has adapted to the environment. Rim can mimic a Sand Dragon.
"Being a slime sure makes things easy."
Notice: Rim can stay here and hunt for animals while the User can enter the dungeon. The affiliated effect makes it so that you will still know the whereabouts and status of Rim in the overworld once you enter the Dungeon.
"I see, then we can do that then. I can take a break every couple of hours since I'm sure this dungeon will take a while to clear. I only have my Summon Dark Shadow as a company. Hmm... I'll max it for now."
Notice: Summon Dark Shadow Greater lvl max.
(Nice, only a 30-second downtime. I have 2 skill points left. Let's see the Dark Shadow's Skill tree.)
"So It's either my summoned Dark Shadow becomes a passive without cooldown and he just goes into my shadow. I can also summon him as long as I have the mana. Or I choose the other upgrade which is, Summon Dark Shadow Army lesser. It summons 40x Dark shadow lesser and 10x Dark shadow Greater. And Summon Dark Shadow Army greater can be learned after that."
Notice: Passive Dark Shadow Skill requirement is lvl 50.
Notice: Summon Dark Shadow Army lesser requirement is lvl 80.
Notice: Summon Dark Shadow Army Greater requirement is lvl 90.
Notice: Passive Dark Shadow Army Greater requirement is lvl 100.
"Okay, I'll save it for now. I don't want a mid-tier skill of 1 passive Dark Shadow. Having An army of shadows which are 25-50% of my stats is the way to go. by the way, I should give a name for the System. It feels weird talking to it daily and yet I don't even know what to call it."
Notice: The system doesn't require any name but if the User demands the system to be named, It shall comply with the request.
"Hmmm... Let me think... Since you are quite intelligent and you help me a lot... as well as being my only ray of hope in this harsh world... how about the great archangel of Light and Wisdom, Uriel."
Notice: The System shall take the name, Uriel.
"Well after I grind the hell out of this dungeon and this ruin, I think I'll head South of here and go towards the City of Wishes. But first, I need to get stronger."
Seth's months-long training has now begun. What he didn't know is what was happening back in the Holy Kingdom.
***
"Finally, you are awake, Lord Vlad. How does it feel to be awake after dying just recently?"
"My body doesn't feel right."
"You don't have to worry about that. All you have to worry about is how we are going to take down the Holy Kingdom."
"You're right! I remember dying at the Hands of the Church."
"Right. That is right. We have given you another chance to redeem yourself and we will help you with that endeavor." All you have to do is be a great puppet and control the masses to incite another uprising. We will make sure that you succeed this time."
***
"Aries, Why don't you just copy his Unique Skill: Mass of the Apostles? That skill is pretty good at creating a hivemind to force people to follow his will. Even before we resurrected him, all his followers still have the skill in effect."
"It's not worth copying such a skill. I can only copy a limited number of skills, remember? Besides, once the people in hiding can see that their Lord was reborn, they will be more empowered to follow his will. All we have to do is promote his hatred even more. It was a really good thing that he was the one we chose for this mission. Although we failed once since we didn't think the Holy Kingdom was strong enough to fend off the revolution, this time we are guaranteed to succeed."
"I really don't mind crushing all the Nations here with our own hands."
"We are only tasked by the organization to help the Nation of Iru and Nation of Zan conquer the Holy Kingdom. Destroying such weaklings doesn't give me pleasure as well, Phobos."
"I guess it will take a month to rally the forces of the two nations in the west area. I've heard they got good mages there that can cast an area of effect, a transparent veil. And you said these people are weaklings, Aries. The Holy Kingdom won't know what got them until it's too late."
"Well compared to us, they might as well be ants. There are only a couple of beings and people stronger than us. Most of the people who are stronger than us is long dead."
"I don't know about you but I'll spectate the war later on."
"Don't worry, I'll spectate it as well. It's boring doing nothing. I'll play with some of the Strongest in the Holy Kingdom."
The future chapters will also tell the other parts of the story as Seth is busy grinding the Dungeon.
