Chapitre 6: Close Fight

The disciples were wondering if they should stay or leave the scene, which was bound to be a bloodbath from what they thought.

While considering this, the fight had already begun.

Adonis made the first move by using his Heavenly 1-star ki and closing the distance between him and Tristan in an instant.

Tristan, who was underestimating Adonis was shocked by his speed but was able to dodge and back away. But Adonis wasn't going to let there be any distance between them.

Tristan, who was able to back away, immediately used his 2-star ki ready to overpower Adonis, only for Adonis to close the distance again and continue to be the one suppressed as they exchange blows.

'What the hell! How is 1-star ki overpowering my own! What type of ki does he have?!'

There are multiple different types of ki, the most widely known one is the balanced ki which ups all physical abilities by 2 times for every star that appears. But some types only focus on one specific strength, which usually ups that strength by 4 times. The one Tristan has is balanced ki, while Adonis was blessed with a higher version of ki.

Adonis strikes at Tristan multiple times, while Tristan is barely able to block or dodge each strike. Tristan ducked 1 of Adonis's slashes and run behind Adonis, then Adonis immediately turned to slash at Tristan making Tristan have to block.

Tristan then finally decided to use one of his techniques "Aqua Blade!"

Tristan's sword was quickly covered with water that was rotating at high speeds and used the newly added force to knock Adonis away. Tristan tried to gain the advantage of the battle now.

Tristan stabs right at Adonis's face, Adonis dodges the blow and does his stab at Tristan's chest. Tristan backed away in time and slashed at Adonis's neck, Adonis dodged and took a step forward to get rid of any space between them as he stabs at Tristan's stomach.

Tristan knowing he won't be able to move in time to dodge it used another one of his techniques "Ripple Walk!" the ground slightly shined this small ripple under Tristan's feet, making him back away fast.

Tristan then used "Water Cleaver!" a large water slash appeared when Tristan swung his sword and was strong enough to slice into the ground. Adonis ran to the right but Tristan wasn't done.

Stabbing his sword into the ground he said "Torrential Collapse!" the ground broke, forming many cracks as water flowed through it making Adonis lose his balance. Tristan used this chance to charge Adonis.

Adonis ducked Tristan's slash and move behind him, only for Tristan to spin around and slice Adonis across his chest.

"Aah! Shit!" Adonis yelled as he continued to move backward, but Tristan wanting to turn the entire battle continued to chase Adonis and perform his assault.

Adonis continued to back away as he blocked and dodged Tristan's strikes, it wasn't until Adonis was blocking one of Tristan's attacks that Tristan put more mana into his "Aqua Blade" and knocked Adonis's blade away.

Adonis now defenseless, Tristan couldn't help but smile as he stabbed right at Adonis planning to end this fight by killing him. Only for him to notice Adonis's smile as he did it.

Tristan immediately felt a large amount of danger and backed away as Adonis cast 'Flame Pillar!'

A large pillar of fire formed around Adonis protecting him from any strikes that may be coming after him.

'Shit, that was close! I was only able to dodge due to instinct. Plus doesn't it look like this spell is way more powerful than it should be?! But...FUCK! He didn't even have to say the spell's name to cast it!'

When casting a spell to make it easier for the cultivator to use it they say the name out loud since it creates a better visual for what the spell will do. It would have to take a certain level of mastery over a spell to cast it without saying its name and for it to still be as effective as it should be.

'Damn it!! I don't have time to think! I need to end this fight as soon as possible!'

Tristan then used his most powerful technique "Sea Dragon!"

A water dragon started to form around the blade and he rushed Adonis.

Adonis saw this and ran the other way as the "Flame Pillar" was still up but quickly extinguished when Tristan stabbed through it and continued to run towards Adonis.

Adonis picked up his sword and looked like he was going face it head-on; when in actuality, he was going to take Tristan by surprise.

Tristan ran toward Adonis at full speed and stabbed the 'Sea Dragon' right at him, making the dragon launch out of the blade and go right toward him.

Adonis then used 'Electric Flicker' and disappeared from his spot making the dragon hit nothing.

'WHAT! HE IS A DUAL ELEMENTAL?!!'

Tristan was shocked and could only react when he heard this crackling noise behind him.

What he saw was Adonis being surrounded by lightning as Adonis stabbed right at him with full force.

Tristan tried to block, but his mana was exhausted, and his 2-star ki was nothing in front of Adonis's ki.

Adonis's stab was so strong that he broke Tristan's sword and launch him off the training ground, which as in the rules for fights like these in the sect, would make this Adonis's win.

This made everybody and everything silent; the only thing you could hear was the wind blowing and the rustling of leaves.
