"The dagger my father always carried around was given to him by our grandfather when he became alpha and it was promised to me or my brother when one of us became the next alpha. My uncle was always jealous of my father and it was hard for him to pretend he wasn't. My father noticed it too, but never spoke to his brother about his brewing hate." 

"Why? Why not address it early to fix the family?" Aurora didn't see ignoring jealousy as the best idea. When someone shows you a side of them that is envious of your accomplishments and wants it for themselves, it is best to distance yourself.  What if his uncle had planned to target Vincent and Victor back then to completely get rid of anyone who would block his chances after his brother's death?
