Chapitre 38: Preface: A Fall Unfolds
How had I not seen this coming?
The strange behavior, the way they almost worshipped the queen . . . I should have known something was up. That there was more than one fox in this henhouse.
Me being one of them.
What had they given me? It had worked so fast. My body wouldn't obey me and my thoughts were muddy. I almost couldn't remember how I got there, why I was on the ground. I could barely swallow.
Who were these people talking harshly to one another? A man and a woman in lab coats. They were mad . . . Mad at me?
I tried to pick myself up, but everything moved so slowly and I was comfortable on the ground, lying down.
Maybe I'd take a nap . . .
No, no I couldn't take a nap. I needed to get up, I needed to grab my gun. Why, though? These people . . . one of them had something in his arms. Something I didn't like.
They'd sedated me when I confronted them about . . . about SOMETHING. I'd fallen.
I couldn't understand what they were saying. Everything was shiny and warped.
But I had to get up. I knew I did. Every fiber inside me told me to get up, to get my gun, and fire. Nothing I did made me move, however, and I felt like I was floating . . . up, up, up . . .
Until I was looking down at myself. Panic and nausea threatened to overwhelm me.
A facehugger. That's what they had. I could see it now, squirming as they put it down in front of me. It flopped about in a muddy state, much like me.
I tried to scream but I could not.
It all came crashing back to me in a hot wave of memories. The lab techs, the dead queen, the asset seizure executed by Weyland Corp, all if it. These crazy fucks had kept this facehugger hidden away.
And now they planned on rebuilding the hive, starting with me.

Welcome to volume 2, Nightmare. I don't know how much editing I'm going to do with this volume, but it is already completed so barring any from-scratch rewrites, updates might not take very long.
This preface was new, as I didn't think the one I have fit very well. Same thing with Phantasm's epilogue, that was also brand new.
Before you guys ask, Wolf will not be showing up until later so strap in and enjoy the ride for now :)
