Chapitre 8: 8 . Scarlet and training
POV : FINN THE HUMAN
Finn had thought about telling Jake about the ninja Nomicon and the training he would be getting from it . It was really not much of a secret and Jake was his brother and was also very understanding .
Finn knew as long as he explained well enough , he would understand . Jake would most probably want in in the training . It was just like him infact . Who would give up an opportunity in learning about Ninjas
And he would also be using the powers he got during their adventure so Finn found it better to completely reap of the bandage at once . He trusted Jake , both as a friend and as a brother despite him having a not so secret background of thievery as he was now aware of , but they would cross that bridge eventually , once step at a time .
Jake was still playing his violin trying to harmonize himself which surprisingly he was succeeding at doing and Finn decided to cut into .
" Hey Jake , I want to tell you something about the book " Finn had noticed the book kept following him and he did not know how to solve this problem . Was this even a problem ? . He would not have to carry it out every where he went right and it would be available to him at any time he desired it . This was a win now that he thought about it .
" What did you find out Finn , you can tell me anything . " Jake quickly put down his violin and approached looking every ounce of the extremely cute dog he was . Finn could not help himself as he patted his furry companion whose ears started to flap happily , but Finn noticed Jakes attention was till on him . Ready to offer solution and comfort to any of his problems .
" I figured out some things about the book . " This caught Jake's attention but his ear still wiggled in enjoyment at his continuous petting . What a cute gesture for such a serious moment .
" So . . . " Finn told Jake most of what he knew , from how it was a ninja book to how it would offer him training in the mind conscious realm . And the possible abilities the book could give him . Why lie when Jake would see him use all the abilities . He was his best adventure bud .
Jake was silent for a while until his eyes widened really widely and looked liked they were shining like stars . His mouth was wide in what Finn thought was awe .
" So , so , you're a ninja now ? So coollllll ! " Jake was in complete awe . Now that he knew he wished that boulder had hit him . He could have become a ninja . What a wasted opportunity !
Jake could imagine the possibilities already , wielding cool swords . using his ninja stealth abilities to sneak into several maximum security places , using awesome types of powers and most importantly wearing an extremely cool ninja costume . The possibilities were limitless !
" Ouch ! What was that for Finn " Jake rubbed his hand which had just been pinched by Finn in discomfort as he looked at his pouting little brother .
" You thought of something rude and you were drooling . " Finn did not know how but as he looked at how Jake had looked at him with a sort of betrayed expression , he was sure he had been unknowingly insulted , and he was one to take actions against such . Bite him , he was petty like that .
" He hehe " Jake laughed sheepishly as he rubbed away the spilled drool and Finn also smiled , his pretense melting away .
" Hey Jake , maybe I should start training . . . and then we can go on an adventure ! " It was a spar of the moment decision from Finn's end . he knew there were danger in doing anything without sufficient preparation but , the uncertainty of adventure was running strong in his blood .
Filling him with an adrenaline that run through his entire being and made his heart beat strongly . Or was it simply fear making him this way , fear of death , fear of not living up to his full potential .
Finn thought it was both . But he had promised himself something now that he had these new life of his . He would not let fear control him and that was why he wanted to go on an adventure . To experience the wind on his face and the smell of grass . The excitement of battle and the satisfaction of victory
He could see the excitement from Jake's eyes and he knew he was very much onboard . Maybe they could even go on a safe adventure . They did not have to do anything dangerous , maybe they could start small and work their way up . It was very plausible . That idea for some odd reason made him feel slightly at ease . As if he was worried . . .
But he saw Jake's eyes suddenly dim a realization dawning on him . Jake held back on trying to support the idea to much . First of all , wasn't Finn still injured from their previous adventure . Jake thought they should take a brae for a few days . Enough time that he would be sure Finn was 100%
" You're still injured Finn . I won't let you go anywhere like that ! " Finn could see the finality from his words and Finn appreciated the worry . But , it was unnecessary .
He had noticed from earlier that his headache had disappeared and his head had stopped throbbing as much as it did . Was this a form of healing factor that came with being the ninja or was this a benefit of being the main character . Finn did not know but he was sure of one thing .
His earlier head ache was most likely caused by the memory merging between the two souls . He couldn't say the process was finished but now that the bulk of the memories were mostly stable he felt more calmer . More like himself but at the same time he felt like the new him . A person wishing for adventure and fun . or could it be his new body affecting his mind . Children had always proven in being more energetic and the current Finn was most definitely a child .
Finn should probably look into that later .
" I'm fine Jake . You know I'm a strong kid ! How about this , we won't walk far away from the tree house . If we manage to find something interesting we may or may not pursue it ! And you know walking around helps the healing process right " He said convincingly like a doctor urging an unwilling child to drink their medicine .
He found himself more excitable than he expected . The longing for exploration was great in him . It would also allow him to find parts for his lab and future inventions . Maybe a junkyard could fulfil his purpose . Their was also that cave at tree forts back side . He could remember it having a variety of machine parts . He would definitely check it out .
He could see the wheels of acceptance turn in jakes head , the growing struggle within him until the excitement beat his worry . Jake was also an adventurer at heart and it was obviously not difficult to convince him . It was simply a matter of being more persuasive .
" Okay , but you will remain close to me at all times . Deal ! " Jakes hand enlarged as a business suit grew from his stretchy body and Finn looked on in both amazement and curiosity at the ability . It really had countless possibilities .
" Deal ! " Finn quickly said shacking the offered hand . He did so quickly to prevent Jake from backing out and with the wide smile he had , Finn was also sure Jake was excited for the possibility of what they could encounter . They both were smiling widely at each other and Finn felt there was something wrong with the way Jake was smiling at him .
" Let me get your sword . " Jake hurriedly stretched back into the bedroom where he remembered he had last placed it and Finn smiled like a master mind while rubbing his hands .
" All according to plan ! " " I can hear youuu ! " He laughed it off ah he heard Jake return with the sword in hand and all he could say was that she was perfect . A perfect blade for his first journey as this new him
The blade was golden and had a sharp edge on both sides and it was of considerable length . The hilt was fully black with a leather grip strap on it and it had a red gemstone on it's pommel . It might not have been the strongest or most durable but to Finn it was the best , because this was hid first blade . And maybe it could even go through an upgrade ! He did wonder what material it was made from . Maybe an alloy of Gold .
She was Scarlet and they would do great things together !
Finn wondered if he was ready to take the responsibility that came with holding such a weapon . He knew what it meant . At some point , he would have to spill blood with it . Would he be ready at that moment . . .
But , what was this ? . . . why was his hands shaking as he held his sword ? Why did a sudden sense of lost take over him as he saw his reflection on the blade ? Could it be that . . .
No . . . it had to be excitement ! . . . Right ?

Now the question , will Finn be able to slay evil as he supposed to or Will he hesitate and get himself into more problem . A true paradox for Finn/Leo
