100% Acheron in Tensura / Chapter 23: 22. Personal stalker

Chapitre 23: 22. Personal stalker

Luminous reclined in her new velvet sofa, set atop the fertile ground of her freshly chosen sanctuary. She gazed out at the beginnings of her new domain, her mind preoccupied with the latest developments. The sanctuary would be grand, a symbol of her newfound vision. Yet, as her thoughts drifted, her attention was pulled toward her new skills—gifts that had come after she named Acheron.

The first skill she examined was **[Soul Mate]**. It allowed her to sense Acheron's position at all times, as well as her emotions. 'This will be useful,' Luminous mused with a sly grin. 'Acheron won't be able to hide from me. I'll know exactly when she's lost or when she's feeling something... amusing.' A chuckle escaped her lips. 'It seems I've become her personal stalker.'

The second skill was more perplexing. **[Ultimate Skill: Acheron]**. Her eyes narrowed in confusion. 'What in Veldenava…?' The skill was Acheron herself—she could summon her at any moment. It wasn't just a skill; it was a manifestation of the person she'd named, a direct connection to her soul. The weight of it made Luminous pause, her fingers idly tracing the rim of the wine glass in her hand.

Interrupting her thoughts, Gunther approached with his head bowed. "Gunther, how is the construction progressing?" she asked, her voice calm as she swirled the crimson liquid.

"The sanctuary is being built as planned, my Lady. It will take some time to complete, but I assure you, it will meet your expectations."

Luminous arched an eyebrow, not even bothering to glance at him. "Hmph, you think I don't know that? Where is Roy?"

Before Gunther could respond, Roy knelt before her. "I am here, my Lady."

She didn't even look his way, her gaze fixed ahead. "Join them in building," she commanded, waving her hand dismissively.

Roy hesitated, his head still lowered. "Before that, my Lady, may I ask... why are we building such a grand, holy structure? What purpose does it serve?"

Luminous finally turned her gaze on him, her eyes glowing faintly. "You dare question my methods?"

A bead of sweat formed on Roy's brow, though he maintained his composure. "I apologize, my Lady. I would never question your wisdom. I am merely curious about our next steps."

Her eyes bore into him for a long, tense moment before she sighed. "Very well. You may be a fool, but I will enlighten you. We are building a new religion—one where I will be the goddess, guiding from the shadows. Through this, I will have even greater control over the people I rule."

Both Roy and Gunther's eyes widened in awe. "That's... brilliant, my Lady," Roy stammered.

"Of course it is," she replied with a smirk. "Now go, and do as I've commanded."

The two bowed deeply and hurried off to continue their work. As they left, Luminous's thoughts wandered back to Acheron. She took a deep breath, focusing on the soul bond that now linked them. Acheron's presence flickered in her mind—somewhere in a forest.

Meanwhile, in a dense, unfamiliar forest, Acheron walked calmly, her overly long katana strapped to her back, her purple hair swaying lightly in the breeze. She stopped in front of a tree, her brow furrowing. 'I swear I've passed this tree before.'

A voice broke the silence. "Hello, beautiful lady! What are you doing here? You look lost."

Acheron glanced around, but saw no one. The voice spoke again, this time from below. "Down here."

She looked down to see a small girl, no older than seven, carrying a basket of mushrooms. "Hello," the girl chirped. "You shouldn't be in the forest alone."

Acheron's face remained calm as ever. "Neither should you," she replied gently.

The girl grinned innocently. "But I'm not alone! Heeeeey, daaaaad! Over here!"

Acheron turned to see a burly man with a thick beard and an axe strapped to his back approaching. He called out to the girl, his voice gruff but warm. "Masha! How many times have I told you not to talk to strangers?"

"But, Daddy, she doesn't look scary!" Masha protested, pointing at Acheron with wide, curious eyes.

The man eyed Acheron, scanning her from head to toe. 'I don't feel any aura from her… but that sword isn't normal. And her clothing… too fine for a wanderer.' His instincts told him to stay cautious. "Who are you?" he asked.

"Just a wandering swordswoman," Acheron replied, her voice calm and non-threatening.

Masha tugged on her father's shirt insistently. "Daddy, she's lost! Can we keep her? Pleeeease?"

The man sighed, rubbing his temples. "Masha, she's not a pet. Miss... do you need help? We're heading to the city of Reberus, not far from here."

Acheron gave a small nod. "That would be appreciated."

The man motioned for her to follow as they made their way toward the city. Masha eagerly walked beside Acheron, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Can you slash mountains with your sword? Can you breathe fire? Can you teleport?"

"Masha, stop pestering Miss Acheron," her father scolded, though the corners of his lips twitched in a small smile beneath his beard.

The walk was otherwise quiet. After a while, the father turned back to her. "Welcome to the Kingdom of Reberus, Miss Acheron."

Acheron looked at the city as they approached. It was small, nestled between mountains, its stone walls old but sturdy. 'Not much to look at,' she thought, though it seemed peaceful enough.

Before she could take in more of the view, Masha grabbed her hand and started pulling her toward the market. "Come with me! I have to show you where we make the best weapons! And you have to see the bakery!"

Acheron allowed herself to be led, her mind drifting back to Milim. The little girl reminded her so much of the child Milim once was. 'She hasn't visited me in ages. Not a single message. But at least Luminous gets to see her at the Demon Lord gatherings. It's frustrating.'

As Masha eagerly showed her around town, her father returned to their house, sitting down with a heavy sigh. He placed his hand over his face. "This is going to be a long day..."
