As Emily's sniffles could no longer be concealed, Chloe's eyes slowly fluttered open.
She was laying behind Emily and turned herself over so that she was facing her back. They were both facing the floor to celling window in the bedroom, which allowed the bright moonlight to fill the room.
Chloe quietly sat up, propping herself up with her forearm. She could see Emily's tears shining in the moonlight; each streaming down her cheek faster than the last.
Making sure to keep quiet, Chloe lifted herself from the bed, placed the blanket over Emily's shoulder, and walked out to the living room. Emily saw the TV light come on, but it must have been muted because she didn't hear any noise coming from the other room.
"Shit." She whispered to herself as she wipe the rears off of her face with her palms. Before now, she didn't know that Chloe had heard her talking, but now she couldn't be more certain that she did.
Come morning, the television was no longer on, and Chloe wasn't in the appartment. All of the blankets were folded, and she had left her side of the bed neat.
When Emily finally dragged herself out of bed and made her way out to the kitchen, she saw a small piece of paper on the island:
"Emily,
I know that we haven't been dating for a long time, but I really feel something for you. I always have, and always will. And that only makes this more difficult for me. I heard you talking last night, to me, to yourself. I probably shouldn't have listened, but I did. I just couldn't get what you said out of my head. You deserve the world, Emily, and I would love to be the one to give it to you, but until you figure yourself out, I don't think I can. I don't want to be in the way of you finding out who you are. You're a great person Emily. If it's possible, I would love to be your friend. I am patient, and if- after you figure things out- you still want to be with me, I'll be here. I can wait for you. If not, I would be extremely honored to be your friend.
Just remember that everything I said earlier was true. I am always going to be here for you, no matter what you choose.
~Chloe."
My appologies for the short chapter, as well as any spelling and gramatical errors, as always!
