#Ayodale City Hospital
Officer Eva sat on the bench with Eliza and held her hand. She didn’t have to say anything… or rather, she couldn’t find any word that could comfort a grieving mother. She held her hand and waited until Eliza spoke.
“While we were waiting for Cacey, we fell asleep. We don’t know when she came back. It must be before dawn.” She paused. Eliza’s regret that she wasn’t awake when her child returned was eating at her. She was trying her best to suppress the regret. She needed to talk to Eva. “When we woke up, we found her on her bed; not moving.” She opened her purse and gave her the suicide note.
Eva took her time to read and analyze the information given here. She thought, “She is an amazing girl—intelligent and goal oriented. Impressive!” She looked at the operation theater and then looked back at the parents and said, “I sincerely pray to God that she survives. Did you mention to the doctors what happened? Did you show them the letter?”
