"Why are you here Thor?" Asks Thoth after some time of watching the place where Gorr's extension was
"I want to learn magic from you," I tell him turning to him
He stares at me while shifting to a more humanoid form as his Ibis head turns to that of a normal humanoid
"You are...different, far too much from..." He stops looking at me in curiosity
"My previous versions, I know," I say and he nods
"My last encounter with a version of you about 11 versions back, was a drunken buffon, an idiot," He says and I resist the urge to frown as I know that my previous versions were not the best from what Mother told me about
"So, that's why," he says with his eyes glowing and looking at me
"I was aware of Gaea being your Mother, but having such a monumental change is..."
"...above me," He says
"What happened?" I ask him as that question has been plaguing my mind for some time now
Thoth used to be revered, respected, and loved by the people
"My 'punishment'," He says hatefully
"For what,"
"For being better," He answers before sighing and motioning me to sit down on chair that he conjured
Once I do small table appears and Thoth offers me a drink which I accept
"I am Ra's most trusted son and with that relationship came jealousy from others. What I know, was taught to me by Ra himself, I would help him deal with Apophis when the night came,"
"Isis saw me as a threat to her son's rule, and went about dismantling my reputation, destroying my temples, destroying cities built in my name, and worst of all turned most of the gods against me by using my own ideals," He says almost growling and I nod at that
"I made libraries filled with knowledge that anyone could learn from, unlike most our kind, I do not enjoy using the collective power of faith from mortals, it is disgusting in its nature," He says while I agree with that
"Now they are burned, most of what I worked to spread is gone now," An idea pops into my head something I am planning for the future
"What happened to Ra?"I ask him cutting off what he was going to say next
"He fused with Amon, and has become Amon Ra, he has since left to his duty and keep Apophis at bay, while Horus has become the Skyfather for our pantheon and now I am in exile,"
"Come with me then," I say smiling at this opportunity
"What?"
"I am traveling the world to learn and explore on my own,"
"Really just like that," he says deadpanning at me
"Tell me, do you have something better to do?" I ask him while raising an eyebrow at him and he flinches back at that and lets out a sigh
"No, I don't," he says sadly
"Also, like I said before, I want to learn magic,"
"Yes, you already said that, with that domain of yours, it's easy to know why you would ask me. Very well, I will teach you and...follow you," he says agreeing with me
"Thank you..."
"Don't thank me yet, I still have some preparations to do before we leave," He says standing up and lifting his hand and a book appears in front of it, although, it appears to have been damaged severely
"Fuck you, you bitch," I hear him mumble and I am going to take a guess on who he is talking about
"It will take decades for me to fix the damage," he says turning to me and I stand up as the chairs, tables, and drinks disappear
"Well, let's go," he says and I open a portal next to us
Walking through it, we arrive at my ship
"Interesting, you bled on the soil to make the wood more compatible with your divine power, The power of the enchantments is not being put into question but some of them could use some alterations," He explains and I nod simply at that
"Where were you?" He asks
"The Skyfathers and those near them were aware of your birth and the differences, but now that Odin has declared Baldur as the prince and heir to his throne, no one has found out where you were," I let out a deep breath at his question
"I was raised by my mother," I tell him as he turns to look at me curiously
"Yet, here you are," He says and I shake my head to let him know that I won't tell him about that and he accepts it
#TIMESKIP 5 YEARS LATER#
"Focus on what you see," I hear Thoth's voice on the outside of my body as a major part of my focus is happening within my mindscape
I am currently putting the finishing touches on my mind palace following some of Thoth's teachings
I am a god, which means, I will live for a long time, and I will also experience a lot
So, this mind palace technique will help me keep my memories organized
Also, help me protect them
I have not let Thoth poke around my head as I have my secrets and I don't want him to rat me out
If there is anything that I have learned this past 5 years is that he is an asshole
If his comments about me being strange for a god didn't put me on edge, he recently started wondering where I learned so much about the elements and how I have progressed through everything that I have shown him
I probably shouldn't have told him about categorizing the elements
Also, he is remaking his library on my ship
"Done?" He asks as I leave my mindscape
"Yes, but there is still much to do,"
"For both of us, you have done well to advance as much as you have,"
"Cut the shit, you know I am terrible at this," I say to him as my grasp on their way of using magic is incredibly low
Almost laughably
"Now, don't compare yourself to me," He says
"I am a god that has been alive longer than you have, and I actually have an advantage over these types of magic you," He says chuckling a bit as I let out a sigh of agreement
Egyptian Magic is rather difficult for me to make use of completely
So much of it is centered on calling out the various names of several deities in order to cast a spell
Which is not something I am willing to do, so far I have only focused on the elemental and mind-related side of things
Through the nature of the spells I am channeling the power of said deity to achieve a wanted and expected effect
Most of it is not exactly tailored to being used by a god
All in all, I am disappointed
This entire endeavor has been a complete waste
Well, maybe not so much, I did get Thoth as an ally
A very powerful ally
But one that is not entirely loyal
As much as I want to get ready for when things go to shit, All I can do at the moment is wait
