Chapitre 91: Grave Offence

England,

Some Distance off Edinburgh,

A battle for dominance raged overhead, mighty destructive spells were thrown sounding akin to cannons and bombs. Lightning roared, tearing asunder the ground as well as any caught up in it's path. Fire and ice filled the sky, angels and fallen angels clashed with one another, the stench of death hung heavy and mana filled the atmosphere.

The Great War between the Three Biblical Factions was yet to waver in intensity despite the fact that they had been warring for decades now. Decades upon decades of nothing but death, destruction, loss, all for the sake of a bid for supremacy over one another.

Still however, musing upon the base and philosophy of such conflict wasn't quite the point.

The elderly man standing on the ground with closed eyes certainly didn't care, hunched over and standing with the help of a wooden staff, he went completely unnoticed by the forces battling just overhead.

But the fact of the matter was that this old man was no man at all. He was the Jade Emperor, the de facto ruler of all Gods respective to his own verse, they heeded his words and obeyed them. He'd also held them from invading the human realm for who knows how long.

Such an individual naturally held incomprehensible power, in the eyes of Okhwang, the angels and fallen angels above were just small flies scurrying about trying to shoot each other down. "Quite disrespectful." A small amused smile formed across his wrinkled face, these insects had quite the nerve, completely ignoring him... No, they hadn't even registered his presence.

Of course, the Jade Emperor was offended..

Who did they even think they were? To ignore the King of the Gods in such a way, his eyes opened to reveal alpha and omega symbols as he raised his staff, the Staff of the Sage, an ancient relic and one of his own weapons.

"Strong Force."

As those two words left his mouth, a swirling distortion appeared right in the centre of the raging battle. Any unlucky enough to be caught up in it died instantly, not even realising what had happened before they were torn to shreds by the spiralling ball of pure energy resulting from Nuclear Fusion... The same process which powers the very stars in the sky.

Some around this energy froze in place, unable to understand the sight before their eyes. Their comrades and enemies alike had been completely eradicated by a 'ball'? A ball that made several within a certain radius scream out in pain as their bodies caught fire out of nowhere.

The very same ball instantly grew to a much larger size, enveloping several miles in pure primal energy, thousands of combatants died in a single instant. In that very same instant, nearly all individuals of the fighting forces were wiped out completely. Gone from the face of the planet as if they had never existed in the first place.

Such was the power of the Jade Emperor.

A distinct ding made Okhwang smile in approval, what was this thing even thinking, killing insects was never going to be a difficult task.

"Retreat my brothers and sisters, immediately!" A serene voice shouted out orders, the despair in the tone however made more than apparent how said commander was feeling. Remiel looked around in astute shock, having no idea as to what had just happened. All he saw was a gigantic ball of spiralling energy the same colour as the Sun and then, it was gone, along with both Angels and Fallen.

Casting a hateful gaze towards the Fallen Angels, the Seraph disappeared in a blinding explosion of light, as did what remained of the angels under his command. The fallen too seemed to despair at what had happened, retreating into purple portals. Shocked, horrified and confused as to what had transpired.

How could they have anticipated such a thing after all. A man.. no, a God of such power was foreign to this world, something they had never seen before.

Ohkwang smiled in delight, weak and pathetic they were but, it was always somewhat amusing to watch them scurry away at the first sight of something above them. Of course, there were those that did not and such individuals interested him.

Samuel was among them, the silver haired teenager knew how powerful Okhwang was and still talked as nonchalantly as ever.

A tear in space opened near the Jade Emperor, making him raise a curious brow towards it. What was it now?

Samuel POV,

On a dirt path, a silver haired teenager could be seen walking with a pleasant smile on his face. The sounds of crickets and other insects of the night seemed to be the only sounds in the night, well, aside from the footsteps of Samuel and his blonde companion.

Elia followed behind Samuel in silence, an annoyed expression had been glued on her face for the duration of their journey.

"How'd you end up joining the church?" Samuel asked curiously, observing their surroundings attentively... Just in case something decided to pop out and jump them.

"I don't need to answer shit." Elia shot down his attempt without remorse, pulling her cloak closer for warmth. The nights did get rather cold after all, she was the normal one. The one in front was the insane monster! He didn't get tired or affected by temperature, what was wrong with him?! She stomped after him in silence.

"Doesn't walking in silence get boring though?" Samuel countered, clearly amused by the exorcist's antics.

"Well..... maybe someday.... Fucking heathen." Elia sighed, returning to a relaxed pace as she now walked by his side. She was technically a prisoner.... or so she thought, but he didn't quite treat her like one, providing for her before himself in most cases... So, the exorcist did find herself warming up to him.... His appearance did help too...

Samuel only chuckled in response, meeting new people was always a delight, meeting such peculiar people even more so.

"Right, let's make camp for the night." Samuel nodded to himself, noticing that his 'prisoner' was getting cold. The silver haired teenager did believe that more often than not, people would return kindness with kindness.

"I know you ain't tired. Get to walking." Elia grumbled, this sly shit thought he could pull one over her. He clearly only wanted to stop cause she was getting cold.

"Oh I'm not. You are, though." Samuel replied nonchalantly, looking up at one of the trees apprehensively, this thing would definitely burn right? He had a way of setting things alight, a way he'd ripped straight from God of High School... Of course he'd not expected it to work but it did.

The exorcist was left lost for words at his bluntness, did this man not know shame or embarrassment? A small blush formed on her cheeks, clearly embarrassed by the straight answer she'd received. She didn't see it coming at all.

Though, the stifled laughter that she heard just a few seconds after made her face turn a bright red in anger and even greater embarrasment,

"Fuck you!"

He was messing with her! The nerve! The exorcist thought about kicking him or something but then immediately decided against it, he didn't deserve that. After his hospitality, the least she could do was treat him right.... Elia sighed and followed after her captor.
