Chapitre 490: Serious

Two weeks later.

Lulu had been making sure to balance her work life and school life while still planning this joint event.

Luckily, she was very, very responsible and very very studious if she did say so herself, and she did, and to show that she was even more lucky, her college professor had an emergency so they barely had any classes in the last month which meant she had only her internship and the party.

So here she was, in her car with a grouchy, frowny faced Benjamin sitting in the passenger's seat sulking, because technically she had forced him as usual to follow her here.

"So are you tagging along?" asked Lulu happily as she turned to look at him and he shot her the dirtiest glare he could find.

Lulu chuckled internally, she had noticed that Benjamin had been much more vocal in expressing his thoughts and feelings, and he spared no expense giving her a true piece of his mind and she couldn't be more happy about that.

"No!" he declared instantly as he glared at her. Like usual she had just appeared out of nowhere, ruining all his plans and dragging him here. He could only blame himself after all, he was being too lenient with her, but no matter how much he told her how he needed his space, and how she needed to take things easy, she didn't understand that this wasn't some game, this was his life.

"Oh but come on Ben, what's the point of following me all the way here just to sit in the car in this heat." said Lulu as Benjamin didn't seem to care at all.

"Firstly, I didn't even want to be here, you were the one that dragged me over here." he said.

"And secondly, you go ahead, I am not going anywhere, I am staying here." said Benjamin as now that he thought about it, Lulu had been bugging him more in this week than she had last week, he realized now that it must have had something to do with the fact that whatever nonsense bet she had with Charlie had ended.

"Oh come on Ben, come on, pleaseee, don't be upset, If I dragged you along with me it is for a good reason." said Lulu as Benjamin scoffed.

"Yeah right, stop insisting and go already." said Benjamin as Lulu pouted.

"I'm sorry that you don't feel happy Ben, really I am, and being the good friend that I am, I don't wan to see you suffer." said Lulu.

"So because of that reason, I'll make you an offer you can't refuse." said Lulu jovially as Benjamin narrowed his eyes at her, wondering what she was up to now.

"If you follow me for this one time, I promise you that I won't bug you for a week." declared Lulu honestly as Benjamin looked at her suspiciously, finding it hard to believe that he had just heard her say that.

"I don't believe you." he said frankly, Lulu was one sneaky girl, she could do anything just to get her way.

"Well believe me, I am being very honest with you right now Ben, you must admit that above all I keep my promises always, and I am a woman of my word, you know that, admit it." she said as Benjamin ignored her, he was busy weighing all the possibilities of sweet, free alone time he would finally have all to himself if Lulu was actually being serious.

"Hey, earth to Ben, are you still there?" asked Lulu as she waved her hand in front of Benjamin's eyes when she realized that he seemed to be in a world of his own.

"If you are really being serious about this Miss White, then I accept your offer." said Benjamin as Lulu rolled her eyes hearing him referring to her as 'Miss White'. It frankly annoyed her that he was still so adamant to continue pretending as if they weren't already close friends.

"Yes, I'm very serious Ben, so we have a deal." said Lulu as she brought out her hand for a handshake and Benjamin reluctantly shook her head.

"Yayyyyy, now come on, the sooner we get this meeting over with, the better." said Lulu as she smiled and removed her seatbelt.

"And the sooner I get some alone time." muttered Benjamin under his breath, but Lulu heard him loud and clear and she shook her head. Oh well it didn't matter, Benjamin was her friend and whatever made him happy made her happy.

Lulu got out of her car as she walked to the boot and carried a box from her boot, closing it and locking her car as she walked out of the company's parking lot into the building as Benjamin reluctantly followed after her.

He looked as if he was being forced to follow her... which he was, but no one else needed to know that.

As Lulu walked through the ground level of the company she was met with several smiling faces of people she knew that greeted her and she responded with the same kind of enthusiasm.

What could she say? She was very popular and she had an idea why, who wouldn't like her? She was so easy to love and get along with if you were nice, and if you were not, she would hate your guts and show you what true dislike looked like.

Lulu stopped in front of the elevator as she pressed it to call it to their level. Lulu was not going to lie, her favourite commodity in this entire building was the elevator, she loved to go up and down, and up and down, and up, then down again.

Call her childish if you may, but in the previous company building there were barely four floors, and they had to use stairs to get up and down, but in this new building there were over twenty floors, each belonging to various departments, and of course her brother the boss, had the sweet, sweet first floor with a killer view.

It was a shame that she knew he was such a workaholic that he didn't even look out to see the beautiful cityscape present.

She most especially loved it whenever she had to go see Dom since she got to enjoy the ride, and she loved it even more when she had to come back down to the ground floor, because it felt as if she was in a mini rollercoaster.

The elevator opened with a ding as she and Benjamin entered and she pressed the button that went to the top floor.

Lulu was silently hating the silence that was currently between she and Ben, so in her usual way she decided to get him talking.

"You know, the least you could do is be a gentleman and carry this heavy box for me." said Lulu as she looked at Benjamin, she was carrying the box that had all the materials and information of their month long work of planning, and it was fairly heavy with different colours and fabrics in there and props to be used for the decorations.

"I'm not a gentleman then, and besides, it's not really that heavy, if it was you wouldn't be holding it with just one hand so comfortably." said Benjamin as Lulu laughed, he was very right about that, but hey she was just that strong.

"Oh you are wrong Ben, it is very heavy, it's just that I have a very good personal trainer." replied Lulu as Benjamin looked at her and frowned.

"Yeah right, you haven't even trained in two weeks now." said Benjamin as Lulu laughed sheepeishly.

"Hey, my schedule has been hectic lately, besides, I don't really think I need continuous training, after all, look at how fit I am." said Lulu proudly as if not that she was holding this box, she would have flaunted her figure.

"And yet I caught you eating an entire chocolate cake by yourself this morning." replied Benjamin with a scoff.

"Hey, hey, we don't talk about that okay, that was one moment of weakness, I promise you that I eat healthy eighty percent of the time." said Lulu as she glanced at the changing figures at the top of the elevator door as they climbed higher and higher.

"I don't even know why I'm talking to you, can we please just remain quiet until this is done?" asked Benjamin as he was wondering what he got himself into, being in such an enclosed space with Lulu in which he had no escape from her loud talking and annoying laughter, he didn't think he would be able to survive anymore.

"You're such a downer Ben, you know that?" asked Lulu as Benjamin almost rolled his eyes.

"Yeah I know that, so can we please remain quie—" said Benjamin as he was unable to finish his words when suddenly the elevator stopped with a terrifying rumble that threw both Lulu and Benjamin off balance and the lights flickered off and on continuously.
