Chapitre 27: A new generation of...

* Blow * * Blow * * Blow *

Drops of sweat escaped from Kiyotaka's forehead, striking with an irregular hammer on the Kengodai sword, which was resting on a sort of tiny-forge held between two bolts.

The soot-filled apron and his protective gloves were torn, revealing the burn marks on his hands and his skin.

* Blow * * Blow *

With each blow he put in the weapon, light escaped from the head of the strange hammer. The tool had a double-sided metal mass, and on each side, small spikes protruded from the black metal.

* Blow * * Blow *

The last two hits of the hammer landed on the sword, which glowed red from all the blows it had taken.

Laying the hammer on the edge of the tiny-forge, Kiyotaka huffed, wiping away the sweat and black grime that had accumulated with a small towel on the side of the forge.

He loosened the bolts on the Kengodai sword, but he didn't take it. Kiyotaka walked over to the new office at the back of the attic.

After the unexpected encounter with Grayfias, Kiyotaka consecrated the rest of his time to restoring the attic and creating a tiny-forge, a hammer, and a new desk using devil magic.

Tiamat had left, taking little Shiro with her. The woman had decided to train the dragon in dragon magic.

'I must hurry.' Kiyotaka sits down on the chair.

The entire surface of the desk was full of paper, crossed out, and stamped. He rubbed his eyes in fatigue before taking a new sheet of paper and writing on it with a pen.

'The hammer of light is made especially to alter the composition of a weapon or an object.' Kiyotaka rubbed his eyes once more, exhaling the tiredness he had accumulated in his body.

'But I'm missing something ... The trigger ...' He put down the pen, then crumpled the crossed out paper into a ball, throwing it on the floor.

'Maybe…' Suddenly, his eyes lit up, he picked up his pen and a new sheet of paper before drawing complex diagrams.

* Vmmmm *

Vibrating sounds echoed from one of Kiyotaka's pants pockets. The boy, so concentrated in his sheets that he didn't even notice someone calling him.

After the fourth ring, the phone fell from his pocket to the floor.

The sound of the phone dropping immediately brought Kiyotaka out of his enlightenment. His eyebrows twitched. He bit his lip in annoyance before reaching down to retrieve the phone.

With the phone in hand, Kiyotaka saw about fifty unread messages.

'As much ?' He thought, shaking his head at the same time.

Sona had sent half the messages, saying he had to come to school or he would be punished and that she wanted to talk to him about something urgently. The other half concerned Rias and his peerage.

He sighed in exasperation, slipping all the messages into 'trash' except one, at which he smiles.

Rising from the chair, Kiyotaka walked over to the hatch then grabbed the ladder to descend to the second floor.

Continuing on his way, he descended the stairs to arrive at the entrance to the house.

Walking softly to the door, he squeezed the handle to open it.

Kiyotaka's eyes rested on the person in front of him. The perfect word to describe the man would be 'Ladle' due to the photo of a woman in a swimsuit on a beach.

"My boy" the man opened his arms wide inviting Kiyotaka to join him.

"Azazel" Kiyotaka took two steps back.

"Ahah, you should find yourself a girlfriend, that will give you some relief." The fallen angel narrowed his eyes in mockery.

"Said the man who stocks a pile of naked woman's magazines and shady DVDs at his house," Kiyotaka said in a voice filled with disdain.

"Oof, it hurts kid" Azazel put his hand on his chest, his heart-piercing.

"Follow me, I need to show you a few things" Kiyotaka motioned for the man to follow him.

"If this is a trap, know that I am not in that category, my boy" Azazel smiles before following him.

Kiyotaka made the same path to arrive, but on the contrary going up the stairs, straight to the attic.

The two climbed the ladder.

"Look, I don't like tight places except if it's a-" Azazel's body shook, his eyes fixed on the tiny-forge, but mostly on the documents on the desk.

"Ho-How?" His mouth dropped to the ground, he rushed towards the crossed-out sheets. Strangely, the fallen angel could understand what Kiyotaka had written on it.

Kiyotaka watched him do it, an imperceptible smile sneaking across his face.

Azazel turned around, his body shaking.

"How did you find out about this?" He showed the paper in his hands to the relaxed Kiyotaka.

"Don't get carried away, I'm missing something, but I don't know what" Kiyotaka looked distractedly on the tiny-forge, more precisely on the sword still lying there.

"You missing something?" Azazel held back from hitting the boy. What he had written on the piece of paper would be worth all the riches in the world. What was he missing?

"It's only a prototype that I've finished for now." Kiyotaka shook his head, exasperated by the child-scientist man.

Resting the sheets on the desk, Azazel did not take his eyes off Kiyotaka.

"ki- Kiyotaka, in what can I be useful?" The sarcasm of before gone, fervor had replaced the old Azazel.

"Simple, but I don't want you to tell anyone." The atmosphere around Kiyotaka turned serious.

"I wouldn't say it, even to my mom." Azazel nodded with his hands over his mouth.

"Alright." Pausing, Kiyotaka approached the sword before taking it in the hands.

Removing his gaze from the weapon, Kiyotaka pointed the sword at the impatient Azazel. "I need you to create the new generation of Sacred-Gears" The sword still pointed at the fallen angel becoming more and more Ecstatic, Kiyotaka finished with a smile, "The Gears of War".
