'I would never believe it!' Leigh eyes were filled with trust toward Tia. She was reluctant to believe that Tia would harm her but what more serious problem now was the old man inside the prison with her.
"Sir! Why are you here?" she finally spoke after the two terrorist who has dragged that old man all the way, left.
She seemed to know who this man was. Tia offered water with a cold face, pretending as if she didn't care, "His coughs are irritating to my ear, make him drink it".
She averted her gaze away after offering the bottle of water whereas, Leigh smiled looking at her. She was like, 'I knew you were not that kind of person'.
"Quickly!" Tia thundered feeling irritated by that continuous smile which was darted toward her. It was burdensome.
That sudden thundering voice made the girl flinch and she quickly nodded. She was glancing at Tia from time to time while helping the old man drink, "Are you ok, sir?" she asked kindly.
"Uhmm… argh, yes. Now, I feel better thanks to your kindness lady, but do I know you?" the old man asked.
Tia was curious, too, but she was keeping her eyes from rolling toward their direction. Her finger scratched her nose as she started to give rounds again and in midst of that, she could not hear their conversation, but Leigh looked happy.
'She must have many loved once waiting for her. So, lucky!'
She bit her lips, feeling self-pity because never have she met her family after birth, nor did she have any idea as to who they were.
Once she met Leigh, she even doubted, 'Could she be mine twin sister?'
And her doubt was still alive!
"That sister is really kind, she got demoted while saving me from some bastards who work here. Really sir, don't go on her coldness and look how close we resemble each other."
While Tia was passing by that cell, she heard those words, "How bothersome," she scratched her neck feeling shy as she muttered.
"Don't worry, my grandson would be soon reaching here," as the old man said that Tia took a back turn and stopped in front of him, "This area is so dangerous and deserted, no one is coming here. People can only be brought here," Tia refuted his words.
The old man smirked; he was about to say something when all the emergency alarm started to surround each corner of the wall.
"It must be him," he proud fully muttered.
"Officer 84, get on your position. Start preparing and bring all the prisoners to the warship. Open fire is allowed on anyone discerning the situation," when Tia took out the walky-talky, she got the command.
She didn't have the idea about the situation, but one thing was clear, things didn't look good.
For a moment she even thought of believing what the old man said since whenever she looked at him, he looked so proudful, but what can a 'Grandson' do?
She refused to believe and with some of her people started to open the cell.
There was her and the man who earlier dragged the proudful old man.
"What's going on?" she asked seriously and loudly so that her voice could reach the man far away in between those emergency syren.
The man who was opening the cells hurriedly paused for a moment and replied, "We are attacked, so drag that lazy ass of yours and hurry up before I shoot you for lagging things behind. You know killing is completely fine at this time".
He chuckled with an evil face.
Once again Tia looked at the old man, 'If what he is saying is true than this will be an opportunity hard to come by. I can get freedom, too'.
Even if it was for that moment, Tia become wishful and greedy. And she asked again, "Who is attacking us? Some other terrorist group, is it?"
The man clicked his tongue, "Again and again, do you want to die?" he pointed his gun toward her and all the prisoners who were out, sat down with screams leaving their mouth in fear.
Tia frowned. She already gave up with those wishful thoughts since it was risky.
She took the keys and started to unlock the cells one by one.
But the old man who just walked out had some other plan, "We should sneak out in time, no one will be able to figure out in this chaos". He grinned.
The old man appeared to be very aloof with an easy personality. But those words were not enough for Leigh to leave like this. She wanted Tia to go together.
"That… how about we take her to go together?" judging from the way she asked, she surely believed in what the old man said.
The man pursed his lips as he gave a moment of thought but by then Tia has started to line up the prisoners.
She took the chance and as soon as Tia came near, she grabbed her shirt and whispered, "Sis, please". She blinked cutely while urging Tia to believe her and the old man, "Can't you leave together with us?" she shook her head while asking.
"Why are you so sure that this old man is correct?" the question was valid but the old one got angry.
"Hey young one, who are you calling old? This man still has a lot of vigour and who will dare to come here other than us 'Gordon's' he laughed out loud.
Leigh hushed him.
It was Tia to choose which path she would walk down.
'Gordon's? I think I have heard this name. If I remember correctly, they are a very influential family but… taking risk over some assumptions…'
She gave it a serious thought while working at the same time.
"No one is going anywhere, if you want to live just follow me quietly," she placed her finger over her lips and looked around.
The old man clicked his tongue and gestured Leigh through his eyes, 'See, I told you she would not help us!'.
That's what he meant by those gesturing when Leigh pouted feeling depressed. She didn't want to stay here, but she neither wanted to leave without her saviour.
She was in a troublesome situation when the grandpa seeing the chance held her arm and started to move between the crowd to sneak outside.
"I am telling you; we only need to reach the roof and everything will be over by that time. I will tell my grandson about this young girl, so don't worry and let's leave, he will take care of everything". With an aloof look but serious tone he succeeded in persuading her.
But their luck wasn't that good. The one together with Tia had his eyes on them from quite the beginning of this chaos and now he has caught the both of them.
His gun moved from Leigh to the old man and then reversed. Everyone stopped their movement and moved away from the three.
As Tia realized that something was weird and that the crowd was pushing to a certain side, she moved out of the crowd and reached the centre. The two of them were on their knees and hand folded behind their head while the soldier has his wide grin and eyes scanning them.
"What's up?" Tia asked after swallowing.
The man lifted his eyes and smirked, "You were so near, did you not realize their running intentions?".
Tia threw a look at those two's back. She felt irritated for a moment since they did what she has forbidden them to.
"Let them go. We should focus more on taking all of them out from here," she said.
But she wasn't his superior and his hostility showed, he was waiting for this chance.
He scoffed at her. how can she even think that he will do what she asks! "Leave them? Yo dreaming girl? Taking all of them out from here is not possible…" he agitated and started counting on his fingers, "There are more than fifty of them and we haven't counted the one from other room yet".
Tia took a deep breath, while she was feeling hot out of anxiety, her eyes only for once met Leigh who was glancing back at her.
"Its survival of the fittest for us and obedience for them. They die if they use their mind!" he grinned and was about to shoot those two.
Tia mind was in a total chaos, she didn't really understand why but she had already shot that man and he was now lying on the ground while his blood splattered at those two faces.
Breathing heavily due to anxiety, she scratched her head and swallowed, "Come on, you two, get up and move quickly".
She screamed at them.
Not the old man but Leigh was petrified at the sight of the man lying in front of her. Even her finger was not moving, her whole body was out of question. Seeing her petrified like that, the old man pulled her with all his strength with his lips pursed and breathed in.
"We don't have time for this. Giddy up and get going, young lady," he said to Leigh and turned back, his narrow eyes with the goal of surviving stared Tia, "We should take the stairs. My people are waiting at the roof".
There was still some chance left for Tia. If she wanted, she could just make up something and escape from the punishment of killing her comrade but seeing that confidence and believe in the old man eyes, she nodded, "Ok but remember, if its someone else on the roof than all of us dies here. Choice is yours; I will follow you just this once".
Even if those words that could flicker once confidence, the old man looked calm and ready to grab his freedom again. He didn't utter a word and just dragged Leigh with him since she was, too, shocked to be able to move or think.
…
"How many floors more?" the old man asked.
There was him, Leigh, Tia and some other prisoners who thought that this might be their last chance while some other left on their own.
Tia looked at the stairs and then at the lift at the side. It was out of service due to the emergency situation so they had no choice but to take on those stairs and she said, "Four more floors".
They all were heaving, some in panic while some due to lack of exercise. Tia was guiding them and killing any soldier who caught them escaping.
They passed two floors without any hindrance but while reaching the third they were again spotted by the man who was of the same ranking as Tia and was earlier together with the one who was killed.
"I told you, did I not? Stop fooling around or things will not be easy," he looked like a psycho as he moved toward them.
He was coming from above and because of that they could no longer move toward their goal.
"83, move".
His number assigned was 83. He chuckled hearing her and seeing her so firm.
"So, you finally decided to come in front rather than helping those things from behind," he slightly twisted his neck to the right and then left while staring those prisoners.
He was grinning but the hatred in his eyes was clear.
