The time to wake up came more quickly than Varya expected.

When the sound of her alarm on her bedside table brutally dragged her from the warm embrace of sleep, she couldn't help the groan that escaped her lips. It felt like she had a hangover but she hadn't drunk alcohol in what felt like ages.

Not opening her eyes in fear of the sunlight that was likely shining directly into her room, she smacked at her table until she found the button that turned off the horrible noise and hid under one of her pillows.

Ever since Basileus had been stuck on a planet where his alertness could mean life or death, even the smallest noise bothered him. When he heard her alarm go off, he had to resist the urge to punch it until it stopped.

However, he opened his eyes more easily than Varya, feeling refreshed after such a short amount of sleep. He turned to his company and saw her hiding under one of her large pillows.
