Chapitre 292: Pulling Her From The Darkness

Varya held Dr. Brie's arm with her left hand and the flowers with her right. Her eyes were downcast while she got adjusted and walked forward to the end of the royal blue carpet that had been rolled out for the occasion. 

"Please stand for the empress," the old advisor who was officiating their wedding announced from the opposite end on a platform. 

Suddenly, everything was completely silent until the wedding guests stood. 

A slow melody started playing through hidden speakers, giving the impression that it was coming out of thin air. It was the same song that seemed to follow her and Basileus around. She had made sure that each time she heard that song it was a good memory for her because of how much it reminded her of the big band music her parents would dance to together late at night. 

She would never know if her parents knew that she had seen those special moments despite thinking she was sleeping.
