Chapitre 5: Progress

The sun was shining brightly as it radiated its warmth to all life. Infront of the orphanage, children ran around, laughing and playing with their friends, creating lively and joyful atmosphere. In this lively environment, there was one child who stood out. It was Sirius. He sat in a lotus position with his palms resting on his knees in deep meditation. There were small birds who sat on his body, it was as if he was connected with nature.

Sirius kept meditating until someone approached. He opened his eyes to see a young beautiful woman.

"Sirius, why don't you play with people your age?" Martha said as she kept getting closer.

"I can't be bothered. Training is more fun to me than playing with them." Sirius replies as he tells her the truth. To Sirius, getting stronger is the main priority.

"Oh, with you and your training. I always see you train. Kids your age need to have fun too, you know." She pouts as she tells him with concern.

"Also, your house arrest is over. Just don't get into trouble, okay?" Martha said, pinching Sirius's cheek as she spoke.

"Especially with what's on right now..." Martha said it quietly.

Seeing her speak in a low voice suddenly, Sirius gave her a weird look.

"It's nothing. All I want is for you to look out for yourself." Martha whispered in a gentle tone.

Sirius and Martha talked for a while before she went to tend to another child who started crying.

'It's not like I wanted to give him amnesia,' Sirius thought, rubbing his red cheek vengefully.

It had been around two weeks since he last fought. At first, the days went by as normal until he was suddenly called into the director's office. Inside the room, there were three people: the director and the Reyes family. Sirius still remembered the insane gaze the Reyes family gave him. The moment they saw Sirius, they started shouting at him.

It was only through the director's help that they calmed down. He stayed in the room for an hour, getting lectured that such actions were unacceptable and that he could not step outside the orphanage for two weeks as a form of punishment.

During the time he couldn't go outside, he focused on training and improving his skills.

'I need to thank Reyes. These weeks has been quite beneficial.' Sirius thought without remorse. He did not feel sorry for the kid because if he did not hold back, it might be him instead who lost memory. Not to mention, he also got the title from that fight, which made his training even more effective. If he could, he would do it again without any hesitation.

[Title: Little Hero

A title given to those who try to help someone in need despite their young age.

Effect: The effect of your Physical training will be double until its stats reaches 100.]

'Status.' Sirius smiled as he looked at his stats

Wisdom: 23

[Skills: 12]

[Perks: 0]

The growth in his strength was far more than anything he had ever experienced. Sirius then looked at the skills that leveled up.

[Meditation – Lvl 17/100]

[An ability that increases ki control and reduce ki consumption

Effect: 8.5% reduction in ki consumption]

[Evolved right eye – Lvl 3/50]

[This ability allows the user to see targets from a far distance, their blood flow, and muscle movement. The higher the level, the stronger these ocular abilities become, making it easier to identify the weak points of stronger foes.

These are the skills he focused on alongside improving his stats. Beside this, there was another skill that Sirius has been trying to improve it, but the progress was too slow.

[Unarmed combat (Passive) – Lvl 14/100]

[A skill that allows the user to be more proficient at hand-to-hand combat.

Effect: Increase 75% in attack damage with hands and 21% increase in attack speed.]

'After that fight, I'm pretty sure this skill levels up faster the more you fight.' He thought, becoming convinced as he looked at the skill.

At this moment, he felt that he was several times stronger than before. Way stronger to no diff Reyes.

"Ding! Ding! Ding!" A sudden loud bell rings, gathering everyone's attention.

"Everyone who is four years old, please make your way to the hall." A caretaker announces. A few kids, including me, started making our way to the hall. The rest of the kids, lost in their own worlds, did not listen and continued doing whatever they wanted. Eventually, they were guided inside by some of the care workers with much difficulty.

Sirius reached his destination in a few minutes. The hall was very spacious, with a high ceiling. There were many rows of seats neatly arranged on the floor, and some kids were already seated. Following them, he sat down in one of the chairs. It took about ten minutes for all the kids to be inside the hall.

The adults in the room all had serious expressions. Sirius couldn't help but remember Martha's worried look.

Soon enough, the director of the orphanage took to the stage with a heavy expression.

"Good afternoon, everyone. I have suddenly received news from the council that all of you children will begin training in two weeks. Normally, you would only get a little bit of training at the age of 5 as you would focus more on education, learning new things. But there have been changes." The director announces this in front of everyone. Sirius was not surprised as Jason had told him about his before.

Once the kids heard this, they all started to murmur in confusion. This is because planet Cereal is very advanced in terms of technology, so they do not rely on brute strength. But kids being kids, they got excited soon enough.

While all the 4 years old were excited, Sirius was silently observing the grim faces of adults in the hall. He couldn't help but contemplate that there was more to this than it seems.

'I guess no training for today. I need to find what's going on.' Sirius kept listening to the director to find any clues.

It took around 20 minutes for this announcement to end. Many of the kids began to disperse in their small group, where they conversed about the news in excitement. Sirius briefly looked at them, before making his own way as he was not interested in joining their discussion. He was looking for Jason. Once Sirius saw him, he called out to him.

"Jason." As if a lost child in an unknown environment, Jason started to look around like a lost child before finally spotting him.

"Hey, Sirius! I am psyched up for the training, I can't wait!" He exclaimed as he began to shadow box with his tiny hand in the air.

"Haha, same here. I still remember you telling me that you will kick my ass!" Sirius laughed.

"Yeaa!! I will, believe it!!!" He replied with a big smile.

Both of them spoke for a while before going their separate ways. Sirius was trying to find any clue from Jason, but it seemed Jason hadn't heard much from the sisters other than the news that had just been announced.

Sirius roamed around the orphanage, hoping to catch any snippets of conversation from the adults that might give him a clue about the sudden training announcement. However, his hours of investigation were in vain.

Sirius spent hours roaming around without rest. He decided to stop his search to drink water. As he was walking past the hall where the announcement was made, he heard a group of quiet voices behind the door.

".... .... days ..... it ...." One of the people said in a low tone. Sirius could barely hear the voice, so he started to get closer to the door.

"... are the ..... .... .. this invasion?" Sirius kept getting closer to hear more clearly.

"We must fight back."

'There's an invasion on this planet!?' Sirius was shocked by this news. This discovery shook him to his core, causing him to accidentally push the door with his body. Startled, he quickly went to his room to avoid getting caught.

Somewhere in the vast expanse of space, a spider-like giant spaceship floated silently.

"To give me 50 million pol just to exterminate the Cerealians, how generous of you. Ohohohohohoh." A loud, sinister laugh filled the room inside the spaceship. The laugh came from a usually small figure who sat on a hoverboard. Despite his small stature, the people around him looked at him in fear.

"Of course, it is only right to pay the proper amount, Lord Frieza. We, the Heeters family, have been trying to acquire this planet for some time. We have hired mercenaries to eradicate the Cerealians, but we need it very soon for our plan," replied a member of the Heeters family. He was a tall humanoid figure with turquoise skin and dark purple hair with cornrows tied in a ponytail. Behind him were his three siblings, who resembled him closely.

"A plan, you say. Worry not, Elec. I will send those monkeys to do what they are good at."

"Thank you, it's a pleasure doing business with you," Elec said as he handed over the promised 50 million pol.

"Ohohohoho, the pleasure is mine."
