Rin started to slowly get to know other people, as well as herself, slowly filling in her slate .
She met Nautica and Brainstorm who were asked to create human-sized facilities for her by Rodimus. Rin liked Nautica. She was kind and funny and easy to get along with. She was pretty as well.
Brainstorm on the other hand was a different story. He was egotistical and always found a need to flaunt around his achievements and proclaim he was the smartest person there. Rin didn't deny that he was smart. Ater all, she went to him occasionally to ask for something to be made for her. However, after the third time of exclaiming his greatness, she wanted to smash her glass of engex against his head.
As time when on, Ratchet learned that Rin's DNA consisted of carefully engineered cells. There was so many things thrown together, expertly, it was hard to pinpoint what species were used and how someone was able to seamlessly splice DNA to such a degree. He noticed how quick she was to adapt to certain environments. She could handle the freezing temperatures of space and didn't have the need for oxygen. She could safely consume engex and energon, as well as other foods that could have been toxic to humans, and she didn't find the need to consume substances as frequently as a normal human, and yet still retain her energy. While, there were still many mysteries needed to be solved, Ratchet knew that he may never find the right answers. Who had created her and why? Was she from Earth at all? Was she grown in a lab or taken away from her home and experimented on? What was the reason of all the 'enhancements'? He wondered if Chromedome would be able to use his skills as a mnemosurgeon to unlock her memories, however, her brain was very different from a Cybertronian processor, and Ratchet suspected it wouldn't work. He left those questions unsolved for now.
Rin's slate continued to be slowly filled in each day. Others described her a kind, yet sassy organic, with a secret darkside that came out occasionally. On one occasion, a drunk patron was harassing her for being an organic, and she somehow managed to shove a shard of broken glass into his optic. Swerve had said that it happened so fast, he didn't even have time to react before the mech was on the ground clutching his faceplate. He didnt even know how it happened. When asked by Ultra Magnus about the situation, Rin just shrugged and told him that if felt like an instinct kicked in, and sort of lost control.
Another bot she got along with was Tailgate. He had missed on 6 million years of his life and was filling in his own slate, along with his friend Cyclonus, one of the bots she was told to avoid. However, it was impossible if she wanted to hang out with Tailgate. She listened as they talked in old Cybertronian, even learning a few words and phrases herself. She even liked listening to Cyclonus sing ballads. She found it beautiful, even if others heard it as blood curtailing wails.
Then there was Whirl. The second bot she was told to avoid. There was something about him that Rin found... interesting. She had asked Tailgate about him, but Tailgate said that Whirl never really talked about his past, but even he knew what Empurata was. He told her that Whirl had gone through a horrible event that effected how he interacted with others. She had seen how he acted towards his fellow crewmates. He was harsh and rude and people often whispered about him behind his back, but that didn't deter Rin. He often hung around Cyclonus. Rin learned that the two had beef, but didn't ask for details.
Rodimus would check in on her every so often, and take her around the ship and just chat. Rin suspected he also did it to get away from Ultra Magnus. Rin liked the SIC. She liked how organized and on top of things he was. Sure, he was strict and harsh when it came to rules, but Rin didn't mind. She read the entire ten thousand pages of the Autobot Code military manual when he had given it to her, to answer her questions on the rules he constantly brought up. While it did confuse her occasionally, and she knew she wasn't going to follow all of it, she found it interesting nonetheless. She always admired the badges that each person wore, but she never asked for one herself, despite Swerve telling her that she should, just as a reward for actually reading the Autobot Code.
Rin enjoyed listening to Swerve ramble on and on about his interests and other random things that came to his processor. It helped her get a sense of the world she had missed. She would occasionally helped around the bar when she could as she listened to his stories. He taught her how to make drinks what she picked up quickly, and soon she was helping serve patrons beside him. She shared a hab-suite with him where Brainstorm had set up her human facilities. After a jour*, she had a real life and friends. A family. And the adventure was only just beginning.
