Chapitre 288: The Alien, the Cyborg, and the General(5)
On the north side of the city, the entire streets were flooded with water, which was nearly 200 feet deep and steadily rising throughout the city. From the depths emerged Rodeo and Michelle, who had narrowly escaped drowning after being swept away by the current. Gasping for breath, they climbed onto the roof of a bus floating in the floodwaters.
"Phew," Michelle sighed in relief.
Rodeo stood up, surveying the completely submerged streets. In a fit of anger, he punched the roof of the bus as his dark aether cracks were glowing intensely like furnace flames.
"DAAAAAAMNNNNNNNNN ITTTTTTTTTTTTTT!"
Rodeo continued to pound the roof in fury, frustrated by their missed opportunity to strike back at the enemy fleet in a more unorthodox way to stop them. To make matters worse, he saw the bodies of MTF and GOC soldiers drifting below the water's surface, a sight Michelle also noticed.
"Oh god."
"I'LL KILL HIM! I'LL FUCKING KILL HIM!! I'M GONNA KILL THEM ALL!"
Michelle grabbed his arms, trying to stop him from punching, but he struggled to break free.
"LET GO, MICHELLE!"
"No! You are acting way too unhinged and less restrained! Don't you realize it?!"
"GET OFF!"
Michelle slapped his face and forced him to look at her.
"Look at me Rodeo! Get a grip already! We need you in the right mind! I need you in the right mind! Just please, don't let the Forsaken get to you," she pleaded with a mix of anger and concern in her voice.
Before Rodeo could cool down and answer her, Sonic Juice, still in his large water form, emerged from the flood to greet them... in a surprisingly non-hostile manner.
But the only one who remained hostile is Rodeo.
"You!"
"Greetings. My name is Sonic Juice. I'm pretty sure one of your friends had a match with Fu."
Without returning the greeting, Rodeo pointed his Casull and Jackal at Sonic Juice. "You are responsible for this!"
Michelle stepped in front of Rodeo. "Easy!" she said, then looked at Sonic Juice solemnly. "What do you want?"
"I'm sorry for this. You see, I'm in a tough spot with Fu, and I had no choice but to execute the order."
"You know your flood killed a lot of people," Michelle said.
Upon hearing this, Rodeo was itching to pull the trigger.
Sonic Juice lowered his gaze. "Yes, but what choice do I have? I cannot defy Fu's orders and risk my people. Besides, he is far more powerful than I am, and one of your friends has already tasted that power. So I ask you to surrender, and perhaps Fu or the Forsaken might show mercy."
"Sorry, but we're not going to do that," Michelle replied, shaking her head. She drew her spear and sword. "We all have reasons to fight, SJ."
"I can't say the same for your friend there with the cracks. He might be too far gone already."
"I'm still sane," Rodeo chuckled, "Very, very sane."
"If neither of you is willing to surrender, so be it. Forgive me for this."
The next moment, the three of them took their battle stances.

Sonic Juice's water form then slammed his right fist toward them, but the two quickly jumped off the bus roof as his fist crushed it. Michelle grabbed Rodeo and swung away from SJ using her rubber arms to latch onto buildings.
"Hmm…"
Sonic Juice created a tidal wave beneath his feet and began surfing it through the streets, chasing after them.
Michelle glanced back and cursed, "Damn. Rodeo, shoot him!"
Without a word, Rodeo fired multiple shots with Casull and Jackal as Michelle continued swinging from one building to the next. Sonic Juice saw the bullets coming and quickly created a water wall in front of himself. The bullets slowed down and were completely swallowed by the water.
"Bullets are much slower when they go through water. It's a scientific fact, of course."
Then he made multiple water geysers erupt from the flooded streets and headed towards them.
"HOLD ON!" Michelle shouted. Rodeo clung to her tightly as she dodged the geysers by swinging side by side.
Sonic Juice sighed and fired high-pressure water jets from his palms. One of them hit Michelle's arm, causing her to lose her grip and balance. Both of them fell from the air and crashed onto the roof of a building.
"That will do," Sonic Juice remarked. He created a water geyser beneath his feet, launching himself into the air, and landed perfectly on the roof where Rodeo and Michelle lay, noticing Michelle trying to patch the wound on her arm.
"Stand down."
"NEVER!"
"Rodeo! Wait!"
Rodeo didn't heed Michelle's words as he charged at Sonic Juice in a rage state. Sonic Juice's water form went for a right hook, but Rodeo quickly slid underneath the punch and chopped the water form's right arm off. Sonic Juice then fired a water geyser from his left hand, hitting Rodeo and sending him crashing into Michelle.
"JUST LET ME PATCH MY ARM DAMN IT!"
Sonic Juice absorbed the water from the streets, using his hydrokinesis to form a new right arm and he quickly made a water geyser erupt beneath Rodeo and Michelle's feet, but they jumped off the roof just as the geyser blew it away before landing on the roof of another building.
"This is futile. Stand down now!" Sonic Juice demanded.
"MAKE US!" Rodeo shouted back.
Sonic Juice used his powers to create a tidal wave from the flooded streets, directing it toward the building and hitting it with immense force, causing the building to start collapsing.
"JUMP!" Michelle shouted as she and Rodeo leaped to the roof of another building. Sonic Juice launched himself into the air with a geyser and fired a water jet. The two dodged to the left, avoiding the jet that sliced the roof's floor in half as Sonic Juice landed in front of them.
"Water at high PSI can cut through concrete and steel like butter, hence the term 'water jets.' I'm sure you know that," Sonic Juice remarked.
"Everyone does. It's common knowledge," Michelle deadpanned.
Sonic Juice fired more water jets at them, and they dodged by rolling and jumping left and right.
"We need to hit his physical body floating in his water form," Michelle said. "That's how we'll break his water form."
Rodeo and Michelle charged at Sonic Juice, who responded by firing water geysers from both hands, trying to push them off the roof. However, they stood firm by locking their feet to the floor.
"ELECTRIFY IT!" Rodeo shouted.
"But we'll get el—"
Rodeo didn't let Michelle finish when he snatched her Maykr spear, stabbed the geyser with it, and pressed a button on the weapon. Electricity surged through the water, electrocuting all of them and stunning Sonic Juice.
"GOT YOU NOW!"
Ignoring the high voltage, Rodeo rushed toward Sonic Juice and drop-kicked him off the roof, holding onto him as they both fell while Rodeo began to strangle Sonic Juice.
"HAHAHAHA! I'LL KILL YA!"
Sonic Juice used his water form's arms to grab Rodeo and throw him off. Rodeo crashed onto a floating car, while Sonic Juice landed safely in the water and headed for Rodeo.
"I ain't done," Rodeo snarled and jumped toward Sonic Juice, only to be punched into a wall by his water form. Sonic Juice's water form then grabbed Rodeo by the throat and pinned him to the wall.
"There is something wrong with you. Those cracks, they are clouding you."
"GET OFF MY MAN!"
Sonic Juice looked up to see Michelle falling toward him. She swung her sword, cutting his water form's arm in half and freeing Rodeo. Michelle backflipped away, landing next to Rodeo on the roof of the car.
"I HAD HIM!" Rodeo shouted in rage.
"No, you didn't."
Sonic Juice sent another tidal wave at them, and they quickly jumped over it. They spin-kicked Sonic Juice's water form's head, making him crash into a wall while the two landed on top of a partially submerged lamp post.
"SHEER HEA—"
Before Rodeo could finish, Sonic Juice made a water geyser erupt from the building behind them, sending them flying toward him. His water form uppercut them into the air, then quickly fired another geyser, sending them crashing through three buildings and landing on a rooftop.
At that moment, Rodeo came back to his senses and held his head. "Ah, what happened?"
"You were going crazy! That's what!"
As Rodeo and Michelle got up, they saw six massive tidal waves heading toward them from all sides. Rodeo then spotted Sonic Juice on the roof of a nearby building and came up with an idea.
"I have a plan. Stretch your arms to fourteen feet."
Michelle followed his instructions and used her rubbery power to stretch her arms.
"Now grab me and throw me at Sonic Juice with all your might."
Michelle nodded and wrapped her rubber arms around him, spun him around at full speed, and then threw Rodeo at Sonic Juice with all her strength.
"YEEEEEEAAAAAHHHHH!"
"Oh—"
Seeing Rodeo flying at him, Sonic Juice quickly created a massive tidal wave. But Rodeo used his explosive fists to blast right through it, continuing toward Sonic Juice. As he got close, he pierced through Sonic Juice's water form like a bullet, grabbed him, and dragged him out of the water form. They landed on another rooftop, where Rodeo threw Sonic Juice into a chimney, causing him to crash into it. The tidal waves stopped and fell into the water, and Sonic Juice's water form turned into a puddle.
Standing up from his feet, Sonic Juice chuckled, "Finally you come back to your senses. The dark aether lingers within you, it seems."
"So?" Rodeo retorted.
Sonic Juice cracked his neck and took a stance. "It will awaken something within you, I'm afraid. Something bad."
Michelle landed next to Rodeo after swinging her way back to him.
"But I'm not done yet, and besides, I don't need to hide behind my water form to do this!"
Sonic Juice created high-pressure water blades from the palms of both hands and jumped towards them. The two rolled to the left and dodged the slash. Michelle spin-kicked his face, but Sonic Juice kneed her in the chin, dodged a left hook from Rodeo, and headbutted him before sweep-kicking their feet out from under them. He tried to stab them with his blades, but they kicked his face before he could land a blow, forcing him to take a few steps back, holding his face.
Sonic Juice chuckled. "You are fascinating creatures, but I must accomplish Fu's orders."
He fired more water geysers from his hands, manipulating them to move like snakes in the air.
"This is some water bender stuff," Rodeo remarked as he watched the water fly at them. They dodged to the right, but the water moved between their feet, got behind them, and started entering their mouths in order to cut off their air. They collapsed to the floor, holding their necks and struggling to breathe.
"Finally, I subdued you. Now I just need to contact Fu and the rest. I could kill you, but being a prisoner might be the best option."
As Sonic Juice was about to make contact with his boss, Rodeo touched the floor of the roof, turning it into a bomb and blowing it up into atoms, which sent them falling through multiple floors of the building and crashing into a half-flooded office section. Furthermore, the water thankfully broke their fall.
"Ow, you okay?" Rodeo asked Michelle as he stood up.
"I'm good," she replied.
Sonic Juice got up from the water and sent it flying right at them, but Rodeo and Michelle quickly punched the water away and landed blows on Sonic Juice's chest. However, he retaliated by creating a water geyser, which sent them crashing into a wall.
"Eat this!" Rodeo shouted, pulling out Casull and firing a shot, but Sonic Juice effortlessly evaded it.
"You missed."
"Did I?"
The shot bounced off a table and flew right toward Sonic Juice from behind, piercing through his back and bursting out from his chest.
"GAAAH!"
"Now! Hit him with everything!" Rodeo yelled.
Michelle slashed his chest with her spear and sword. Rodeo followed with an uppercut to his face. Michelle kneed his gut, and Rodeo spin-kicked his face. They then both elbowed his face and drew back their right fists.
"MAXIMUM EFFORT!"
Their fists collided with Sonic Juice's face, sending him flying out of the building and crashing onto the roof of a floating oil tanker in the flooded streets.
