She woke up instantly. Cheng Qingchong's body tensed, and her hands that were under the cover gripped the mattress tightly while her eyes scanned him guardedly. Qin Yinan pulled his tie off and let it fall on the empty side of the bed. His gaze that looked out the corner of his eyes accidentally met her.

He paused for a moment before turning to face her.

Qin Yinan had been facing away from Cheng Qingchong earlier, so she didn't have a close look of his face. As his eyes landed on her, she realized his hair was unkempt, his face was lined with tiredness, and his eyes were ringed with dark circles. In essence, it seemed like he was deeply troubled.

In Cheng Qingchong's mind, Qin Yinan had always been clean in his appearance; it was rare for him to appear so slovenly. Cheng Qingchong frowned, and shock flashed across her eyes. The fear and anxiety she felt when she first saw Qin Yinan was gradually replaced by confusion and curiosity.
