When she saw the grave expression on Baiyi's face, Laeticia was stunned for a minute before becoming serious herself. "I understand. I believe you."
She was obviously a kind-hearted girl who had little reservations in trusting an amicable man who had saved her life when she was in danger.
"Very well." Baiyi released his grip after a satisfactory nod. He added, "The evil that you felt earlier was a sign that the devils will soon infiltrate Arfin city. An uncommonly powerful demon had been roused—" He pointed at the Mage tower, still covered in thick smoke. "— there. I must stop it as soon as possible."
"I'll go with you!" She cried out in foolish courage.
Holy shiiiiiittt! That was pretty noble of you. And I thought you would never care, Baiyi (see the chapter “Instrumentality”, for example)!
Honestly, even with my experience of watching so much movies, my time spent on TV Tropes.com, my lifeless life in my room watching—and later, predicting—anime, I honestly can’t tell how this is gonna go down yet. I’m not sure how willing is the Author in stripping the demigodhood off our protagonist here, but I suspect Mia would be encountering more problems than searing pain from that formation.
Baiyi, did you forget to, you know, bid a pretty dramatic or heartfelt goodbye to Attie? I mean, she’s still one of your girls! And all we got was just a few passing mentions of her name? SAD!
