Baiyi did not consult the other Voidwalkers regarding the abdication of the throne but no one made any noise at all. After all, none of them were particularly fond of the backwater that is the Steppe. The Walkers used the convenient excuse of it being supposedly protected by the War God: Taking up his name like that, stealing his sword and his woman is bad enough. Now you want to own even his land? If their War God does exist, just on that account, he would have come mano a mano with you!
Man, Baiyi’s disruption of the Steppe’s system, and his casual retreat, reminds me of the end of imperialism when countries just leave their colonies like that. Some places became independent in a good way, while some became embroiled in civil wars and political feuds, spawning radical groups and dictators until today— gah! We should move on to the lighter stuff!
I agree with Attie anyway! Seducing anyone (regardless of gender) is a skill. If it’s innate in everyone do you think we would still have people crying out “nice guys finish last” and “forever virgin” and whatnot? I wish my parents would teach me about it, at least on a rudimentary level.
I know what you’re thinking, Seriously? Tips from my parents? I would roll my eyes at their courtship tactics and lampoon on how lame they are, at the very least! Well, of course you would, Chad, because that’s the children-parent dynamics. But if their tactics are useless, how the hell did you came to be? [insert “black guy pointing to his brain.jpg”]
