Yang Dong replied, "I came here to study. When I was in school, my family tried all sorts of ways to get me to become an American citizen, thinking that I can become successful here. In the end, after I graduated, I lost my job. I did not have the face to return home and so I can only try and make a living here."

Li Du said, "What's there to be ashamed about? Have you gotten your graduation certificate? If you got it, you can go home and look for a job there. After all, you will be considered an overseas candidate."

Yang Dong laughed bitterly. "The most embarrassing part is that I didn't get it. I didn't get my graduation certificate nor my degree!"
