Based on the detailed rules of payment determined by the consortium, both Shang and Ye Chong discovered that they would need at least 15 trainees to pass the examination or 7 of them with superior performance in order to attain the target income. That spelled a total challenge as it meant either the group became the top group in the entire course or both Shang and Ye Chong would have nothing. Well, if they managed to attain the target they would need not to worry of having an empty wallet for a long time, given that they did not have to pay like a king. There was also a specialized war machines given as one of the rewards by the consortium. Such model was a hard find in the market so Ye Chong could probably make a fortune out of it even if he did not intend to pilot it.
Wow... no wonder the author insisted us to keep the word "soldier" as part of the title.
The MC *is* making bunch of soldiers everywhere...
Fun Fact:
Did you know? The trial name of this book in English was called "Chronicles of Fal" since it feels like a record of a legend from Fal galaxy making histories?
It was later requested, on behalf of the author, to be changed to "Legend of Super Soldier".
The translators felt it might not sound fitting since the MC could not have been labelled as a "soldier" because soldier is normally associated with someone serving an army, or a particular force like a country and the MC never served for anybody other than he himself. (And Super Soldier sounded prettyyyyyyyyyyy cliche)
The author insisted to at least keep the word "soldier" (I guess to live the spirit of a mech pilot, which the original Chinese word could also be interpreted as a "Teacher-Soldier". It's a new term coined by the author and to be frank, if we call everyone who pilots a mech a super soldier it's gonna sound really weird and would likely disrupt the galactic kind of experience. (I mean even Soldier-76 serves his country lore-wise before)
The translators eventually kept "soldier" and rephrased Super as "supreme" which sounds cooler?
Since hey, to write a sci-fi, you must sound cool, at the very, very least. Cool and simple, memorable.
Heard of Megas-XLR? Yes millennials, go watch it, worth your time, those were our days.
