Chapitre 10: hokage
inside the hokage office a middle aged man with spiky brown hair wearing red and white robe was sitting on a chair while smoking with pipe . his name was sarutobi hiruzen , the 3rd hokage of hidden leaf village .
other than him and 2 anbu hidden , there were 2 more individuals inside the room . one was a small child and other was a handsome young man . both had signature silver gray hair and handsome looks . both of them were hatake ren and hatake sakumo .
( mc POV)
" sam , I only sense 2 different human chakra signatures hidden on the roof . is this normal ? I thought that I could see everything clearly with sensory talent though .. "
" no partner, sensor ninja just have better control on their mental power and can use chakra to amplify it thus increasing their sensor range . your passive sensory range is 20 meter radius around you and with using chakra you can use sensor jutsu to increase the range many times normal . the good thing is that you can amplify the power of any jutsu with kneading your more more bloodline chakra too . so you can increase your range 10 folds within your current limit too . "
I did not think honestly that my bloodline would provide me such advantage with sensory jutsu too . well it looks that I will have to practice some high rank sensory jutsu to minimize the chances of being discovered while probing someone with my sensory abilities . maybe uncle sakumo would have some kind of good sensory technique with him . I would have to ask uncle sometime.
" sakumo , I heard that your nephew is very talented . he defeated the genius minato namikaze in seconds . Congratulations to you. I just wanted to meet the new genius myself so I hope you are not angry with me calling you suddenly . " the hokage said in a casual tone which surprised me greatly.
I had thought that hokage must have some kind of oppressive air or aura around him but he did not look any different from a vigorous and kind man . I guess hokage in the main timeline of anime must have changed with old age as his present demeanor is very different from my anime knowledge.
" thank you hokage sama for your praise . it's this kid's honour to get his talent recognized by you . " uncle sakumo was also very respectful towards hokage so my impression of hokage improved a lot .
but I was confused now as hokage did not look like a person who would have done so many blunders during his time . for example uchiha massacre and the most important one was letting danzo get away with his sinful deeds . I guessed that hokage must have a soft spot for his friends then because from his strict demeanor, i could not guess any other reason why he let danzo roam free . the bullshit like finding no proof about danzo's dark deeds was crazy. simply because hokage has enough power to eradicate danzo from this world and there was no need for proof at all . this is not a government company from earth where people have to obey so many rules that they get sick of it .
this is ninja world where power and authority is everything. uncle sakumo was respectful towards hokage which meant hokage had enough authority, charisma and power to get kage level experts respect him . so with his authority it must not be a difficult task to kill danzo without presenting enough proof .
looks like danzo was more dangerous than I had thought . he must have his own support backing him like two other elders of the village and good manipulation skills too . otherwise he cannot possibly hide so many dark deeds from the eyes of hokage. someone must have helped him in erasing the tracks that could lead to him . and the most suspicious ones were the 2 elders because only they must have power to move under the radar of hokage undetected. looks like danzo and two other elders were people to be most wary of in this village .
( hokage pov )
this child hatake ren has such calm demeanor unlike that of his small age. the intelligence hidden in his eyes reminded me of orochimaru when he was young like him . I must groom this child well so that he can become a pillar of the village in future along with minato . recently, the borders are getting chaotic so I think that war is near . sigh.. those two greedy bastards onoki and raikage want to capture territories of fire country and I'm worried because if they attack us at the same time then our forces will not be enough.
I just hope that my 3 students jiraya, orochimaru and tsunade can become strong enough in coming few years so that our forces have some powerful new commanders
. tch.. I again got lost in thoughts and forgot about the surroundings . sigh.. being hokage is really tiring and tough job. it would have been so nice if tobirama sensei was alive to give me pointers ..
" ren kun was it ? there is no need to be nervous in my presence . the people living in the village are all a big family so you can just call me uncle sarutobi from now on . " I smiled at small ren but his next words were really unexpected.
" can I call you old man hokage ? it's much more friendly . besides you have too many wrinkles on your face so looks like an old man . dont worry , when I become older then I will become strong enough to protect you and everyone in the village . shishishishi... "
( mc POV)
I said those childish words because I wanted to assure hokage that I had the will of fire in me . these 3 words were too important inside this village as even sensei would definitely use 10 to 20 minutes daily to preach this to academy students. well if phrasing in bad words then this can be called brainwashing too . but if you phrase in good words then it's the symbol of the village to instill the importance of unity and comradeship into everyone. the village was like a kingdom and ninja were the soldiers protecting it . so this concept was too important for the village . even companies on earth have their unique slogans which are no different than symbols of the said company . any businessman or social person could understand the meaning of slogans , if they think about it a little and I was no different from them .
my simple attempt to impress hokage a little had worked as I could tell that his gaze became softened while looking at me but uncle sakumo was sending death glares at me . I could only scratch my head with my head low to fake guilt and embarrassment to ease the anger of my uncle ..
" haha.. now now sakumo ! there is no need to feel angry . ren chan you can call me whatever you want but make sure to show respect in front of others though . you are an intelligent boy so I know that you know the meaning behind my words.. " hokage said to me and uncle sakumo with casual tone .
I was only feeling glad that hokage turned out to be a sensible and friendly person as now I could move somewhat more freely in future. still danzo became the most dangerous personality inside the village within my mind and I had to evaluate other 2 elders properly in time to decide whether they can prove useful to me in future or not ...
