Swoosh
Lucian swung the wooden sword horizontally, aiming for Erna's chest. But instead of dodging, Erna used the momentum of the swing to spin around and block Lucian's blow. When Lucian realized he had missed his target, Erna kicked him in the stomach, knocking him back a few feet.
"Well done! That was close," Erna said with a hint of sarcasm.
Erna grabbed the hilt of the wooden sword and held it behind her.
"Since we are here, I'll teach you about Aura, Magic, and Energy Manipulation.
First, let me explain aura; it's a field of energy that surrounds everything. There are two types of auras: positive and negative. Positive auras are usually associated with happiness, positivity, love, health, etc.. Negative auras are related to pain, sadness,
depression, hate, anger, fear, jealousy, and death. Now, both fields can be manipulated depending on the individual's strength.
For example, I can create a shield that can stop arrows. Conversely, I can cause someone to faint with a touch. Both examples use the same technique; however, the results are entirely different. Another thing to mention is that the manipulation of auras is affected by the amount of mana an individual has.
Swoosh
Erna said all of this well, engaging Lucian. She aimed her sword at his torso, which she had previously hit.
She saw Lucian tense up and brace for the incoming attack.
Before Lucian could react, Erna spun around the handle of the wooden sword and slammed it into Lucian's forehead.
"Now I'll show you Aura."
Erna's mana started to form on the wooden sword, and the mana was small strands connecting it to the wooden sword. Then, after a few seconds, it grew until a complete circle covered the weapon.
"All right, now watch closely."
When Erna swung her sword, Lucian felt the shift in the air—something was wrong. Her aura crackled, and before he could even blink, the tip of her wooden sword was already slicing toward his side. Blood Spurted from the wound and sprayed across the ground.
He collapsed onto his knees, unable to move. His eyes were wide open, but he couldn't see anything due to blood loss.
"I-I want to fight more," Lucian thought while soaking in his blood. He was lying on the ground, trying his best to stand. But it didn't matter he still wanted more.
He tried to stand but was unsuccessful in doing so. The blood loss was taking its toll on him, causing his vision to blur, and the pain intensified to an unbearable level. Lucian's head felt like it would explode, and his heart was racing so fast that he thought it would tear out of his chest.
"I need to fight more; I need to kill more. Please help me fight." Those words came from deep within him; he wasn't himself anymore. He was someone else, a monster that needed to kill and devour more. A beast that could destroy everything around him with a thought. He was losing control, his consciousness fading away as he slipped into unconsciousness...
Sensations, sights, sounds, tastes, smells, feelings… everything returned to focus.
Lucian could feel an unrecognizable urge. It wasn't the will to continue fighting; Lucian only wanted to fight so severely. He had become a creature of pure animalistic instinct. He needed to consume as much flesh as possible to satisfy his hunger. It was like an endless thirst that needed to be sated, a hunger that had to be satisfied before he became sick and died.
His body moved on its own accord. He had lost control of his mind and his actions. He ran towards Erna, who stood frozen, staring at her disciple. With speed that defied human limits,
Swoosh
Lucian's body was cloaked in black mana. He looked like a beast or demon, but he was actually a human. The mana that covered him made him look so demonic. It seemed as if the black mana was flowing through his veins.
"It looked like he was trying to form a new skin; the mana covered him from head to toe. It was as if a thick black membrane had formed around his entire body and was slowly being peeled back. It was like watching a snake shedding its skin.
In this motion, Lucian jumped towards Erna, who stood motionless. The moment before his hands touched her body, she closed her eyes.
In an instant, a large ball of white energy formed in her palm.
A barrier that protected her from the blow that was heading straight for her skull. Her eyes were still closed as she concentrated hard and held out her hand, waiting for the right moment. She held her sword covered in her aura and swung it forward with all her might. It was the perfect time. With a swing that could break any bone, her wooden sword slammed into Lucian's forehead.
"Gah… Aaaaaaaah!!!"
Lucian slumped to the floor, and Erna stood above him with her sword.
"haha, more, give me more. It's been too long since I could let off some steam. I've been Locked up for far too long!"
Erna smiled at him as she watched his corpse twitch slightly.
She took a step back and grabbed the handle of her blade. She was ready for the next battle; the hunt for food was now underway.
"W-what is miss erna doing?"
"She is too cool."
The people watching her murmured as Erna walked away, looking over her shoulder.
Lucian struck out with his wooden sword, aiming for the liver. He gripped the sword tightly and swung it upward on Erna's blade with his right hand.
The force caused her sword to spin out of reach, and she could not block it as Lucian's blade sliced through the air. He swung his sword wildly, trying to keep her at bay, but her blade was faster than expected. She dodged every move he tried and kept a safe distance between them.
He kept striking out mindlessly, hoping to catch her off guard, but she was too quick for him.
Erna saw an opening and attacked with a horizontal slash aimed at Lucian's face.
With a loud crack, a gash opened across the side of his head, causing blood to flow freely down his cheek. His movements slowed as he realized what happened.
"Ahhhhhh!"
Blood flowed down his cheek, but his body wouldn't stop moving as if it were a machine. He swung his sword in a download arc.
Erna blocked the attack by letting the wooden sword slide upon hers. She let it slide down her wooden sword and used it to push him backwards until she caught him by surprise. As soon as she did that, she thrust her blade upward, cutting deep into his chest.
"Ngh!"
"That's enough of this, " Erna said, coating her fist with strands of Mana. She struck out her fist, hitting Lucian in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him as she kicked him in the ribs.
As Lucian fell unconscious, Erna ran over and pulled out a vial of liquid. She then fed it to Lucian while saying.
"Good job, you're a real pain in my ass, but I can't say you're bad for entertainment. But don't think I'll forget this little fight, okay."
She finished speaking before placing a bandage on his wound and giving him some water that she mixed with light, attributed to Mana.
A few minutes later, after he had recovered from his injuries, that was previously pouring out blood. Erna picked him up and brought him to the guild hall infirmary.
"Can you heal this man?" Erna asked, looking at the healer standing in front of her.
"Of course, I can miss Erna, but if I may ask, did you cause this?"
"Well, yeah, I didn't plan for him to end like this…"
"Don't worry about it; it happens sometimes, The Healer said with a grin as she placed Lucian onto the infirmary bed. She pulled out a pair of gloves, a mask and some other tools before proceeding to cut his clothes off.
She started by cutting around his abdomen to make sure there were no significant internal damages before she moved to cut away his shirt and pants, leaving only a small towel wrapped around his waist.
After examining the damage and ensuring it was safe, she pulled a needle and injected mana into the open wound. Then, she covered it with a thin layer of gauze. She took a small jar out and poured a white liquid on the wound before covering it with another layer of gauze.
Erna stood up and smiled at the healer while holding a bag where she had put the rest of the clothes before paying the healer.
As she left the infirmary, she glanced over her shoulder, "Rest up, Lucian. Next time, I won't go easy on you, I'll put you through hell, you will wish to be dead when I'm Finished with you."
