Jackie blinked, her disbelief evident. "Are you teasing me, or are you for real?"
Cara's lips curved into a faint smile. "What if I am for real? Would you let me kiss you?" Her voice was low, almost hypnotic, as she leaned closer, their faces now only inches apart.
Jackie stared at her, caught like a deer in headlights. She looked both trapped and mesmerized, unable to tear herself away from Cara's magnetic pull. Succumbing to the temptation, Jackie closed the gap, her lips pressing against Cara's. They were soft and sweet, as if Cara's lips were made of honey.
Cara kissed her back, her own desire igniting like a spark catching fire. This was what she had wanted from the moment she walked into the diner, though she hadn't imagined it would feel this good.
Her hands moved instinctively, slipping beneath Jackie's shirt. Her fingers brushed against Jackie's warm skin before cupping her big silky soft bosom, her touch confident yet reverent. Jackie's breath hitched, a soft moan escaping her lips, but she abruptly pulled away, her chest rising and falling as she tried to catch her breath.
"What are we doing?" Jackie asked, her voice shaky, her eyes searching Cara's face for answers.
"We're doing what feels right," Cara replied without hesitation. Her voice was steady, her gaze locked on Jackie's. "Doesn't it feel right to you?"
Jackie hesitated, her lips parting slightly as she wrestled with her thoughts. "But you turned me down before," she said, her tone laced with confusion. "We argued about it. You made it clear you weren't interested and stormed out of my office."
Cara froze for a moment, realization dawning. Wait a minute... so that argument was about her affair with Rudy?
"So, what are you saying?" Cara asked, her voice softer now. "This doesn't feel right? Or... you don't want me anymore?" She stepped closer, the air between them charged, her eyes never leaving Jackie's.
Jackie's resistance crumbled under Cara's gaze. "I want you more than I've wanted anything in a long time," she admitted, her voice trembling with raw honesty. "But you've got to admit, this is out of nowhere... and it's weird."
Cara lifted her hand, gently cupping Jackie's face. Her thumb grazed her cheek, the touch electric. "Tell me," Cara whispered, her voice coaxing and full of promise, "does this feel weird?"
Before Jackie could respond, Cara's lips captured hers again, the kiss deeper this time, their tongues exploring as if tasting the sweetest indulgence. Jackie melted into the kiss, her earlier doubts dissolving into nothingness.
When Cara finally pulled away, Jackie exhaled shakily. "This is a weirdness I will wholeheartedly embrace," she said with a small, breathless smile.
Cara returned her smile, her own eyes sparkling with mischief. "Should I go back to work now?"
Jackie laughed softly, her composure slowly returning. "You should, but not before giving me some sugar."
Cara grinned as Jackie leaned in, claiming her lips once more. For a brief moment, the world outside faded, and it was just the two of them, lost in a universe of their own making.
When Cara eventually pulled back, Jackie's lips were slightly swollen, her expression dazed yet radiant. "Let's do this again very soon. What do you say?" Cara asked, her tone playful as she moved toward the door, leaving Jackie's longing gaze trailing after her.
"Yes, yes, and yes," Jackie replied enthusiastically, her voice carrying a note of excitement she couldn't hide.
Cara smirked over her shoulder. "You have my number. Hit me up soon."
With that, she slipped out of the office, leaving Jackie speechless and slightly breathless, the faint scent of Cara lingering in the air.

At 6:30 p.m., the sky had already surrendered to the night, and the diner had quieted down, with only a handful of customers scattered across the tables. In the kitchen, Cara leaned against the counter, chatting with Farrah, who was focused on stirring something on the stovetop.
"So, what time are we going to see Grandma tomorrow?" Cara asked, her curiosity piqued.
"I'm thinking tomorrow afternoon, after the rush hour," Farrah replied, keeping her eyes on the pan.
"That works for me. I can't wait to meet this ungodly woman," Cara teased, smirking.
Farrah turned off the burner and let out a mock sigh. "I don't even have a comeback for that."
Cara laughed, crossing her arms. "Seriously, though, it wasn't cool of your dad to call his own mother ungodly."
Farrah shrugged, grabbing a dishcloth to wipe her hands. "He's not a bad person, if that's what you're implying. He's just… overly religious."
"Fair enough. Anyway, our shift's over in an hour. How are we getting home?" Cara asked, changing the subject.
"We're taking the bus, duh," Farrah said, giving Cara a look that suggested the answer should've been obvious.
Cara rolled her eyes. "Jeez, Farrah, you know I don't remember much."
Farrah didn't budge. "Yeah, I know, but this is still common knowledge. We that don't have cars, get on a bus."
Cara sighed, knowing she couldn't argue with that. Sylvester, still adjusting to life in her body, had yet to navigate public transportation in this unfamiliar world.
As their conversation continued, Lisa strolled into the kitchen, her gaze flicking between the two of them. "What are you two gossiping about?" she asked.
"We're talking about you and why you need to get laid ASAP," Cara said with a mischievous grin.
Farrah burst into laughter. "Seriously, Lisa, you've been acting way too pent up lately."
Lisa raised an eyebrow, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Haha, very funny. Even funnier coming from a virgin like you, Farrah."
Farrah's laughter died instantly. "Come on, Lisa, I told you that in confidence," she said, her tone serious.
Wait, she's a virgin? Cara thought, blinking in surprise. She hadn't expected that revelation.
Lisa shrugged nonchalantly. "Yeah, whatever. Anyway, Cara, there's a lady at table 10 specifically asking for you. She says you know her."
Cara frowned, curiosity sparking in her chest. Who could this be?
"Did she give you her name?" Farrah asked, her brows furrowing.
Lisa nodded. "Yeah, she said her name is Joana Trier."
Farrah turned to Cara, her face lighting up with recognition. "That's the vampire chick I told you about."
