The Obsidian Abyss stretched endlessly before them, an oppressive expanse of shadow and silence. The faint glow of the Abyssal Nexus Shard in Daniel's grip provided the only illumination in the dark void. The shard pulsed faintly, each beat sending a ripple of unfamiliar energy through Daniel's body.

Mira floated silently beside him, her gaze wary as she scanned their surroundings. The Abyss, although temporarily subdued after their battle with the Champion, felt far from safe.

"That shard," Mira began, breaking the tense silence, "it's dangerous."

"No kidding," Daniel replied, holding it up for a closer look. The shard's light flickered erratically, almost as if reacting to his presence.
