Nathan stood outside the café, hesitating before he stepped inside. The weight of the world felt heavy in his chest as thoughts raced through his mind—everything he had discovered about his family, his mother, and the harsh reality of trying to live without his father's wealth. But when he walked in, the comforting smell of fresh coffee and baked goods surrounded him like a warm hug. It wasn't home, but it was becoming something closer to it.

He spotted Scarlett behind the counter, concentrating on the espresso machine as she prepared drinks and coffee for the costumers. Nathan paused for a moment, stared at her for a few minutes before approaching the counter with a smile on his face.

"Morning," he said, his voice sounding a bit too tired.

Scarlett looked up and offered a teasing smile. "You're late, again," she said, wiping her hands on her apron.

"I was just thinking," Nathan replied.
