Chapitre 130: Transforming Weapons

"Ahhhhhhhhh!"

Hysterical screams echoed throughout the laboratory. A young man draped in a death robe surged with spiritual power, abruptly silencing the chaos. Bai Yi regarded the alchemists with calm authority.

"If you're certain, you can sever the pain and sensory nerves of the experimental subject. That will prevent any further disturbances."

He gestured toward the scene unfolding before him. "What you just witnessed is the result of excessive flesh and blood mutation material. The body's natural rejection can trigger such violent reactions."

"But don't panic. There are ways to save him. For instance, we can administer adrenaline or other stimulants to awaken the body's potential."

From his space ring, Bai Yi produced a massive syringe and injected a full dose of adrenaline. The mass of flesh on the test bench twitched violently, its vitality surging back from the brink of death.

"The life signals of the subject are stabilizing. To save him, we'll need to open his body, locate the arteries, and introduce neutralizing agents to counteract the mutated materials."

Bai Yi found a thick blood vessel and injected a substantial dose of medicine into it. Energy flowed through the mass of flesh, causing it to tremble. Before the alchemists' eyes, the rotting mass slowly took on a humanoid form, expanding in size.

The average height of orcs is around two and a half meters, yet this creature now exceeded three meters. Its muscular frame boasted gray skin adorned with rugged, rock-like patterns, signaling extraordinary strength and defense.

The alchemists observed intently, diligently recording Bai Yi's instructions and the changes in the flesh with their tablets and notepads. If not for the earlier screams, they would appear like eager students learning from a master.

Bai Yi's attention shifted as he injected another dose. The behemoth, now nearing four meters tall, quivered again, blood seeping from its flesh as it began to deform in unpredictable ways.

"There's another possibility," he explained. "Insufficient material, incorrect timing, or errors in the substances can lead to continuous distortion, as we see now. The previous failure was shapeless, but this one is distorting. Though similar, they differ significantly."

"The most glaring distinction is that the unformed failed product lacks offensive capability, while the deformed creature may possess greater or lesser power than a typical transformation. Its instability makes outcomes uncertain."

Bai Yi elaborated, helping the alchemists understand how to avoid such failures. "Once this happens, the chances of saving it dwindle. The best course of action is to have a powerful individual destroy it. However, there's still hope if we can identify where the error occurred."

"The worst-case scenario is that I intervened just before the transformation completed, forcing a disruption at a critical moment."

"In such cases, the alchemist must use their mental power to realign the distortion and restore the sequence of flesh and blood."

He emphasized the importance of the sequence he had discussed in his previous lectures. "This is the key to L-type transformation. Mastering this sequence is essential for avoiding failure."

Bai Yi's formidable mental power enveloped Garrett, causing the wildly distorting tissue to tremble. Starting from the head, the flesh gradually reverted to its near-completed state.

As he reached the legs, Bai Yi approached with a scalpel. "This unblocking process is challenging, but if successful, excess or misplaced substances will form tumors like this one."

He pointed to a sizable tumor on Garrett's leg, measuring half a meter in diameter. "We simply need to remove it, and the transformation can still be perfected. The subject's minor discomfort is not our concern; that falls to the psychologist. Even without one, the promise of a substantial military salary post-transformation can ease their minds."

With deft cuts, Bai Yi excised the tumors, and the wounds healed rapidly with the flow of blood and flesh.

"Now you understand the possible mistakes and changes during L-type transformation. For any abnormal transformation, you have two chances to save your comrades. If you seize them, you will be deemed qualified alchemists."

Bai Yi snapped his fingers, sending a surge of spiritual power into Garrett's mind. With a slight push, Garrett awoke instantly.

[You have successfully completed a silver-level L-type weapon transformation. Experience points +2000, additional experience points +2000.]

"Ahhhhhh!" Garrett screamed upon awakening, his senses overwhelmed. Yet, amidst the mental chaos, he felt surprisingly little pain.

"Tell me how you feel now," Bai Yi asked, a smile playing on his lips.

Garrett shivered, instinctively shrinking away from Bai Yi. He feared retaliation but had no proof. Despite his apprehension, he dared not defy the Lord of the City. "I… I don't feel much… just a bit afraid of syringes and knives."

Bai Yi began scanning Garrett.

Bai Yi was impressed. The attributes grew stronger with combat, and Garrett had awakened two specialties. At his peak, his endurance could potentially reach three hundred.

Satisfied, Bai Yi turned to Garrett. "Remember this. We'll proceed with the next transformation. This time, Garrett will observe and adjust to his new powers from the side."

Garrett's eyes widened in disbelief, but he stood firm, feeling the ground tremble under his feet.

"Crack!" The floor cracked spiderweb-like beneath him, as if crushed by sheer force.

Bai Yi chuckled. "If you damage public property, you'll lose your first month's salary."

Garrett's eyes bulged. "What kind of floor costs ten thousand?"

Seeing the look from Bai Yi, he quickly fell silent. The four-meter-tall orc, muscles straining against his clothes, suddenly seemed a little sheepish. "Yes, Lord City Lord, I'll make it right."

Bai Yi's mental power surged, pulling Magath into the room and shutting the door. "I'll handle your transformation this time without any errors."

With that, Bai Yi knocked Magath unconscious and swiftly initiated the transformation. The process was smooth, taking only about five minutes. Magath emerged as another massive, muscular figure, also reaching four meters.

It seemed Bai Yi's touch was exceptional, as both brothers awakened two specialties, pushing some attributes to the silver limit. They could likely overpower early lower-gold opponents, provided those opponents lacked multiple specialties.

Satisfied with the alchemists' focus, Bai Yi captured two upper-bronze elves for the next demonstration. "Now we'll explore the various scenarios of M-type transformation. Watch closely and learn."

As he began, Zero quickly compiled all relevant data and reactions regarding flesh and blood transformations, feeding them to the AI clone. This would act as a high-level assistant for the silver-level alchemists.

Thirty minutes later, the demonstration concluded.

[You have successfully completed a Silver Level L-type transformation. Experience points +2000, additional experience points +2000.]

[You have successfully completed Bronze-level M-type transformation × 2. Experience points +1000, additional experience points +1000.]

The L-type transformation produced a hulking, muscular figure, while the M-type transformation yielded slender, pallid elves. They appeared almost ethereal, their legs more streamlined, with natural weapons forming on their wrists and ankles.

Unfortunately, neither elf awakened the Ghost Sprint ability, settling for Speed instead. Still, acquiring two silver-level transformations was commendable.

"The devices I provided are now connected to my AI. It has created clones that will assist you in completing transformations," Bai Yi instructed, addressing the four elves adapting to their new forms. "Go inform the others that the 20,000 individuals requiring flesh and blood transformation will be prioritized, while mechanical transformations will wait."

One elf nodded eagerly, vanishing in a flash, leaving the alchemists and the Garrett brothers in awe.

Bai Yi turned back to the five silver alchemists. "From now on, the flesh and blood transformations will begin with the five of you. The bronze-level members will assist while you learn."

The alchemists buzzed with excitement, eager for the opportunity to train.

As soldiers from the Transformation Legion lined up, Bai Yi took a step back, observing the five transformations unfold. With AI support, they quickly grasped the process, and Bai Yi felt confident in their training.

Five days passed.

During this time, the flesh and blood transformations were seamlessly integrated into their routine.

Feeling relaxed, Bai Yi decided to visit the Armament Department. However, the results there were less than ideal. While some alchemical potions had been successfully produced, the equipment remained unfinished. The ultra-high-strength alloys he had brought from the future were still yet to be manufactured.

Bai Yi strolled toward the official streets of the inner city. He found Mina and Irene at the guest residence, both looking contemplative.

As he entered, Mina turned, her expression weary. "Lord City Lord, you're back. Are you finished?"

"Boss! You're finally here!" Irene exclaimed, frustration evident in her tone. "I've been so bored! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss the work you assigned me!"

Bai Yi chuckled. "There's much to do, but I'm here to address Irene's hidden danger."

Irene's expression shifted to disbelief. "You want me to work in this state? Mr. Orr said capitalists should go to hell! Boss, you can't be serious…"

Ignoring her protests, Bai Yi continued, "Irene's inheritance is unique. She absorbed a curse in the inheritance space, which is rooted in elven genetics, granting her elven powers."

"Essentially, she only possesses half of the curse, meaning she has the attributes of a curse healer without all the drawbacks."

Mina interjected, "What do you mean?"

Bai Yi explained, "Irene's healing ability is a double-edged sword. While it can be incredibly potent, it can also turn deadly. With proper guidance, she can excel."

"Irene, you'll be tasked with healing and saving lives," he announced.

"Me? Save people?" Irene stammered, eyes wide. "Are you kidding?"

Mina sighed, recalling her own experiences with Irene's unpredictable abilities. "You've shown promise, but it's a tricky balance."

Bai Yi grinned. "Imagine if you teamed up with Luo Ning. Your combined talents could make you a formidable force in healing and combat."

As he stepped into the City Lord's Mansion, a figure rushed over, exclaiming, "Boss! Sister Irene! You're finally here! I missed you so much! When will we return to the pharmacy?"
