Chapter 1: Eye Degeneration? Sorry, That's Just an Illusion

Konoha Hospital, Department of Education.

Tsunade sat casually in her chair, crossing her legs as she examined the application documents in her hand, her curiosity piqued by Takumi's unique eyes.

"Hinata Takumi, you've withdrawn from your ninja team due to bloodline degradation and applied to join the medical department to become a medical ninja?"

"Yes, I want to become a medical ninja and find a way to cure bloodline disease," Takumi explained, laying out his reasons clearly.

In the entire ninja world, medical ninjas were always in short supply, even in Konoha, where their training was prioritized.

Tsunade was more than happy to have someone apply to join the medical department.

The only regret was that Takumi belonged to the Hyuga clan yet had succumbed to bloodline disease.

Tsunade gestured, "Can you tell me about your eyes?"

She was genuinely curious why Takumi's eyes were different, even with the same bloodline degradation.

His azure pupils, speckled with a black dot at the center, resembled a glowing blue star—beautiful and mysterious.

In response to Tsunade's inquiry, Takumi calmly explained, "During a mission with my team, I sustained an injury. While healing, I started experiencing photophobia and blurred vision, and after treatment, I began showing symptoms of bloodline degradation."

While others believed Takumi's Byakugan was degrading, little did they know, this so-called degradation was actually evolution!

To understand the situation, we must go back to before Takumi was transported to this world.

He and a close friend were playing a certain Naruto mobile game. Just three days after the game launched, there was a promotion for recharging, where a payment of 648 could yield an epic draw chance, with a high probability of winning rare items.

Takumi decided to invest, and luck was on his side; he hit the jackpot and obtained the Rinnegan.

Just as Takumi was about to boast to his friend, he suddenly felt dizzy, darkness clouding his vision, and he collapsed onto the couch, losing consciousness.

When he finally regained his senses, he found himself in the Naruto world.

After his injuries healed and the first awakening of the Rinnegan had completed, Takumi withdrew from his ninja team, citing bloodline disease, and submitted an application to join the medical department.

"I approve your application. Starting tomorrow, you'll begin your studies. I hope you can temporarily set aside thoughts of your bloodline disease and approach your studies with a clear mind," Tsunade stated.

"Yes, Lady Tsunade."

With the application sorted, Takumi let out a sigh of relief.

His reasons for wanting to study in the medical department and become a medical ninja were simple: he didn't want to risk his life for his family or the so-called will of fire.

Once he became a medical ninja and secured a job at Konoha Hospital, his family could no longer order him around under the guise of clan responsibilities, nor would he need to take on missions and commissions in the village.

In the ninja world, medical ninjas were known for earning a high income with comparatively less effort.

After leaving the hospital, Takumi specifically purchased several bottles of permanent paint, along with a drawing board and paper before returning home.

Unlike other ninja clans, the layout of the Hyuga clan's estate was quite peculiar.

At the center was the main compound of the clan head, surrounded by residences of the main family members, with further outer layers consisting of the branch family houses, spreading outward in circles.

The lower the clan member's status, the more remote their living area.

Takumi was one of those who lived in the outermost regions.

Closing the door behind him, he set his things down and picked up a bottle of green paint, heading into the bathroom.

Once he removed his headband, his forehead was already stained a vivid green.

The cursed seal of the caged bird had disappeared after the first awakening of his Rinnegan, and the mark on his forehead was one he had painted himself with a marker.

Unfortunately, the paint at home tended to fade.

That's why Takumi had specifically bought permanent paint.

He also purchased the drawing materials to give the impression that he was learning to paint.

The Rinnegan needed to go through three awakenings to stabilize, during which time Takumi could not use its powers. Each awakening required him to hide away in a closed room, waiting for it to finish.

Fortunately, these issues could all be explained away by his bloodline disease.

The clan firmly believed him; after all, Takumi was not the first member of the Hyuga clan to experience bloodline degradation.

However, the way the clan members looked at him was beginning to change.

The Byakugan was a source of pride for the Hyuga clan; bloodline degradation meant losing the Byakugan and, consequently, one's status and value.

Takumi was indifferent to how the clan viewed him. This decayed, dark, and unjust clan was not worth his loyalty or sacrifice.

Once he became a medical ninja, he would move out of the Hyuga estate.

Not caring about others' opinions didn't mean Takumi was willing to tolerate the Byakugan or accept unequal treatment from his clan members.

After using the paint marker to draw the cursed seal on his forehead, Takumi observed his work carefully before snapping his fingers in satisfaction. "Perfect!"

With the disguise complete, Takumi headed to the yard to begin his training.

He completely ignored gentle fist techniques.

Starting today, he needed to work hard on enhancing his chakra control, which was essential for becoming a medical ninja.

Once the Rinnegan completed its three awakenings, he would be strong enough to overturn the main family; why would he care about gentle fist techniques?

Climbing trees and walking on water posed no challenge for Takumi, but these were just the basics for fine chakra control. To become a medical ninja, he would need to put in continuous effort.

The next morning, Takumi packed a lunch box, along with some notebooks and pens for recording, and made his way to Konoha Hospital.

The medical department was directly connected to Konoha Hospital, so he just needed to head there and wait for Tsunade's instructions.

It wasn't long before Tsunade arrived, yawning and her hair a bit tousled.

"Take a look at these books, then tell me what level your chakra control is at. I'm really tired right now and don't have time to teach you."

With that, Tsunade slumped onto the table and fell asleep.

Tsunade is personally teaching me?

Takumi hadn't expected to receive attention from a powerhouse.

Wait, at this time, Tsunade wasn't yet a powerhouse; she hadn't even earned the title of Sannin.

She could only be considered a capable medical jonin.

These were all books prepared by Tsunade, specifically tailored for beginners, perfect for a novice like Takumi.

He walked to a corner, placed his bag down, and opened the book, studying it earnestly.

The first pages introduced medical ninjas, and as he flipped through a few more pages, he found various training methods for fine chakra control and standard classifications.

Walking on water and climbing trees could only be considered the basics.

"Hmm."

Looking at the detailed records in the book, Takumi realized he seemed to have already reached the learning standards for a medical ninja.

It appeared that after the first awakening of his Rinnegan, his chakra control had improved significantly, and over time, this ability continued to enhance.

After all, the Rinnegan was a powerful ocular technique comparable to the Rinne Sharingan, providing Takumi with enhancements across the board.

Suppressing the urge to wake Tsunade, Takumi continued reading.

Unbeknownst to him, the entire morning passed in this manner. Takumi read books for hours while Tsunade remained asleep. Thankfully, there were no severe cases at the hospital that morning, so Tsunade didn't need to intervene directly.

As a result, Tsunade enjoyed a restful sleep, albeit with a rather ungraceful pose.

After all, sleeping with her face pressed against the table made one side prone to turning red and likely resulted in drooling.

Casting a glance at the water stains on the table, Takumi's lips twitched slightly.

Lady Tsunade, you ought to maintain some decorum and image!

If only he had a camera, he could capture a couple of pictures for some embarrassing blackmail.
