Chapitre 112: Chapter 112: Upgraded Again! The System is Truly Unstoppable

"'White Chocolate' Jason Williams' passing skills?" Tang Lei froze for a second, then burst out, "Whoa, this is epic!"

Tang Lei was well aware of Williams' legacy as one of the NBA's flashiest passers—a player whose court vision and flair could deceive not only the defense but even the cameras. His infamous elbow pass was one of the most celebrated moves in league history.

"This is a blessing," Tang Lei thought. "With Williams' passing skills combined with my maxed-out ball-handling, I could do wonders at point guard."

After his brief stint as point guard in the last game, Tang Lei felt a deep excitement for the position. He knew that point guard was the brain of the team, responsible for setting up plays, controlling the tempo, and driving the team's offensive flow. A great point guard could elevate a whole team—a role exemplified in the NBA by Chris Paul, who had transformed teams like the Hornets, Clippers, Rockets, Thunder, and Suns with his leadership and court vision.

Looking back, Tang Lei recalled how Paul had turned the Thunder's losing team into a playoff contender. Then, after joining the Suns, Paul had taken the once-struggling franchise all the way to the Finals in his first season. The impact of a skilled point guard was undeniable.

The thought resonated with Tang Lei—he liked the idea of holding his team's fate in his own hands. The problem with any other position was that he would have to rely on teammates to pass him the ball. A point guard had more autonomy to take control of the game.

"Right now, with Curry and Green already established in those roles, it's hard for me to take over as primary point guard," Tang Lei reasoned. "But if I can keep proving myself to the coach, I'll have my chance."

With the new "White Chocolate" skill boost, Tang Lei knew his odds of securing that position, even with the second unit, had risen. And once he earned the coach's trust with the second unit, it would only be a matter of time before he was leading the first team as well.

"Now, let's put these new attribute points to good use," Tang Lei thought with a smile. He brought up the system screen:

- Player: Tang Lei

- Position: NBA Golden State Warriors Player (Contracted through season end, $3 million)

- Age: 19 years, 107 days

- Height: 6'7"+ (Each attribute point adds 1cm; max increase of 15cm)

- Size: 25 cm

- Wing Span: 7'2" (Maxed)

- Weight: 220 lbs

- Attributes:

 - Driving:100

 - Mid-Range:92+

 - Three-Point: 100

 - Vertical: 100

 - Speed: 92+ (to max out)

 - Defense: 90+

 - Blocks: 100

 - Ball Handling: 100

 - Stamina: 90+

 - Charisma: 100

- Available Attribute Points: 11

First, Tang Lei maxed out his speed, knowing that agility was vital for a point guard. Now he had 3 points remaining. He grinned as he noticed the "Size" attribute between height and wingspan.

"I've got an idea…" Tang Lei smirked, quickly applying the 3 remaining points to "Size." He immediately felt a bit of discomfort but soon realized with delight that his "Little Tang" had grown.

"Wow! I thought it referred to shoe size! This system is unbelievable—absolutely unbeatable," Tang Lei chuckled.

With his attribute upgrades complete, Tang Lei showered and joined Curry and Durant for the post-game press conference.

Reporters wasted no time diving into sensitive questions, probing for comments on the recent spat between Cousins and Green. Tang Lei, always quick on his feet, replied smoothly, "I'm not sure about their relationship. I just know they were spraying each other with champagne in the locker room."

Even Curry and Durant couldn't help but laugh, as did several reporters. Curry discreetly flashed Tang Lei a thumbs-up, impressed with his diplomatic skill.

One reporter persisted, though, probing about Tang Lei's role in the fourth quarter. "In the critical fourth quarter, we noticed you switched to point guard. Was that a choice you requested?"

Tang Lei knew this was a loaded question. If he said yes, it might fuel rumors of him being a "ball hog," but if he said no, he'd risk accusations of dishonesty. To navigate this, Tang Lei gave a deft response, "I'm just doing what the team needs. The position doesn't matter to me; winning does. I'll always prioritize what's best for the team."

The response effectively closed off further questions on the topic.
