"Alright, everything's ready", "Come on, come on", said Gojo, motioning with his fingers toward him in provocation.
"You asked for it, old man", responded Megumi as he charged at him.
Seeing Megumi charging at him, Gojo responded by getting into a fighting stance, ready for hand-to-hand combat. He had decided to fight Megumi without using the Infinity to make things more interesting. But contrary to Gojo's thoughts, Megumi had no intention of engaging in hand-to-hand combat with him.
When Megumi reached a distance he considered suitable, his hands formed a rabbit shape behind his back, and he summoned a large horde of rabbits around Gojo. At the same time, wings seemed to sprout from him, and he began flying at great speed to a considerable height.
"Being completely surrounded by tiny creatures brings back bad memories. I guess the saying "like father, like son" applies here, doesn't it?"
'Well… if I want to continue this fight, I'll have to destroy these rabbits. The cursed energy they're made of is obstructing my vision', 'Damn it, I never expected to lose sight of a six-year-old kid. I should take this more seriously,' Gojo thought with a smile on his face.
"[Blue]," Gojo exclaimed, then made a wide arc with his hands, and a lapis lazuli-colored sphere engulfed all the rabbits in the blink of an eye.
But Gojo didn't have much time to relax because Megumi, who was in the sky, had summoned Maximum Elephant over him. Realizing something was about to fall on his head when he saw a huge shadow on the ground, Gojo reacted quickly, dodging the spot and enhancing his speed with Blue.
"BOOM" was the deafening sound of the ground splitting from the weight of the Maximum Elephant, which was unsummoned by Megumi once it hit the ground.
"Anyone would think you're trying to kill me, kid!" Gojo shouted with a hint of mischief in his voice as he looked up at the sky.
"You're the strongest, right? I figured that if I wanted a chance against you, I'd have to give it everything I've got. But if you want, I can tone it down a bit, old lady," Megumi responded, looking down at Gojo from the sky.
"It seems you have quite a high level of control over your shikigami, kid. Partially manifesting Nue's wings to fly is something no other user of the Ten Shadows technique has done before, according to the Gojo clan's records."
"But you know what? You're not the only one who can fly, kid," Gojo said, then activated his Infinity and flew directly toward Megumi.
Gojo had decided that as long as the fight remained airborne, he would use his Infinity to fly and bring Megumi down to the ground, and then deactivate it so Megumi could hit him.
Determined to land a punch on the little brat who had dared to try and crush him, Gojo charged his fist with cursed energy, and when he was just inches away from Megumi, he extended it with enough force to slam him into the ground. However, when Gojo tried to hit Megumi, his arm passed right through him, leaving him stunned.
"Surprised, old man?" Megumi said, noticing the expression on Satoru's face.
"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't," Gojo replied.
"Usually, I'm the one people can't touch," the white-haired man declared with a smile.
"How do you do it?" Gojo's voice held a hint of curiosity.
"Although it's pretty obvious if you think about it, I'd rather keep it a secret during this battle," Megumi replied.
"Besides, I'll stop using that technique if it's unnecessary. After all, if my strength depends on a technique that makes me untouchable, I'd die the moment someone figures out how to reach me," Megumi added, indirectly pointing out Gojo's own situation.
Upon hearing Megumi's statement, Gojo's face twisted into a funny expression as he thought: 'Why do I feel like that was aimed at me?'
But Gojo didn't have much time to dwell on Megumi's words, as he launched an attack, initiating a hand-to-hand combat. Deciding to test Megumi's abilities, Gojo held back at first, gradually increasing his strength and speed.
Blows were exchanged, with the occasional kick—Megumi dodged most, while Gojo blocked them. Megumi's fighting style reminded Gojo of a wild beast, charging violently and moving on instinct.
Initially, Gojo's superior technique was evident. However, after a few minutes of combat, Gojo noticed that, surprisingly, Megumi's technique was becoming more refined. Moreover, Megumi began incorporating Gojo's own techniques into his repertoire, using them against him. As if that weren't enough, he occasionally improvised moves that, if successful, he added to his arsenal.
In addition to the evident growth in Megumi's martial skills, Gojo noticed with his Six Eyes that Megumi's cursed energy wasn't depleting. It seemed that as soon as he spent a small portion of his reserves, they instantly replenished. Satisfied with Megumi's abilities, Gojo decided to end the fight by activating his Infinity, since, if the battle turned into a test of endurance, he might lose.
Swoosh!
"?" The surprise was reflected on Megumi's face; he had assumed Gojo wouldn't use his Infinity during this fight. However, seeing his fist stop just inches from Gojo, he realized he had been wrong.
"Surprised? You're not the only one with a technique that makes you untouchable," Gojo said, grinning from ear to ear.
"Come on, give me five."
Doing as requested, Megumi approached Gojo and tried to slap his hand, only for Gojo to start a monologue explaining his technique. "You see, you're not really stopping; your speed just decreases as you get closer to me. This is the defensive application of my cursed technique known as [INFINITY]."
"Of course, since you're still a kid, this explanation might be too complex for you," Gojo teased. "To help it sink into your little head, you can imagine my technique as the manifestation of the tortoise and the hare story: no matter how fast the hare runs, it'll never reach the tortoise," he added with a smile.
"Got it, kiddo?" Gojo asked as he ruffled Megumi's hair.
Swatting Gojo's hand away, Megumi replied, "Mostly, yeah. But tell me, how do you breathe and see if apparently nothing can touch you while you're using [INFINITY]?"
"Oh, that. Well, the thing is, I can decide which phenomena are affected by Infinity and which aren't."
"Hey, Gojo, does this mean you accept my proposal?" Megumi asked, now calmer after all the adrenaline from their fight.
"Ah... that. Well... I'm sorry to inform you that..."
.
.
.
.
"You're approved!" Gojo said, raising both thumbs, with mini blue and red sparks shooting out like fireworks.
"Hurray... I guess," Megumi said, watching the eccentric Gojo.
"Well, changing the subject, now that you've become some kind of benefactor to me, I'll tell you one of the weaknesses of your Infinity that I discovered while you were explaining it," Megumi said.
"Oh? A little kid like you says he can beat my technique?" Gojo responded with interest.
"What, you don't believe me? Well, it's not my problem if you end up dead because of it," Megumi said as he turned to leave.
"Hold it right there, Megumi. You can't say things like that and then leave. Prove it! Go ahead," Gojo said, activating his Infinity.
Turning back, Megumi said, "Okay, Satoru, I'll try to make sure you don't die. But if you do, it's not my fault."
"Relax, I won't die because I'm the strongest," Gojo responded, pointing to himself with his thumb.
"I'll say it again, are you sure?" Megumi repeated with a doubtful tone.
"Go ahead," Gojo gave him a thumbs-up.
"Alright," Megumi said, then extended his shadow in the form of a dome that completely covered Gojo. Megumi's intention was to suck all the air out of the dome, creating an artificial vacuum, which would in turn cause Gojo to be unable to breathe, and the gases inside his body would try to escape, causing internal damage.
'Interesting, what is this kid planning?' were Gojo's thoughts inside the dome, unaware of what was about to happen.
Outside the dome, Megumi was alert, listening for any sign of discomfort from Gojo, ready to dissolve the dome at the slightest complaint.
'Did he mess up? Well, it doesn't matter, after all, no one has ever managed to bypass my INFI-'
"[PURPLE]!"
"Aggh," Gojo fell to the ground, coughing up blood and letting out a deep sigh after destroying the dome Megumi had trapped him in with his Purple technique.
"HAHA"
"HA"
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA," Gojo laughed maniacally.
"Never in my wildest fantasies would I have imagined that I'd be on the verge of death against a 6-year-old kid," Gojo said with a smile, one hand covering his face, while his body healed using Reverse Cursed Technique.
"Are all sorcerers crazy, or is it just you?" Megumi asked as he slowly approached the kneeling Gojo.
"To be a sorcerer, you have to be a little crazy," Gojo replied as he stood up and dusted off his clothes.
"Now... would you mind telling me how you did that?" Gojo asked once he had composed himself.
"Sure, it's actually very simple."
"What I did was use my shadow to absorb all the oxygen inside the dome, creating a vacuum, which caused the gases in your body to want to escape, tearing apart your organs. Oh, and also preventing you from breathing," Megumi explained calmly.
"What the hell?! Damn broken technique," Gojo's words sounded like a complaint, but his tone and facial expression showed happiness and excitement.
"Well... shall we go?" Megumi asked.
"Yes! Onward!!" Gojo said, grabbing Megumi and then flying off at immense speed.
"Stop, you crazy lunatic!!!" Megumi's shouts could be heard in the distance.
