Chapitre 89: Chapter 89: New, Setting Sail Again

"This must have been what the Cancer Clan originally looked like."

"Somewhat like an angel turning into a demon."

The Cancer Clan might have been terrifying, but the Light Wing Clan seemed divine. If they had appeared on Earth a thousand years ago, they might have been worshipped as gods, or perhaps just considered glowing food.

Yan Xia took the Light Wing out of the culture dish and, after testing, found its physical data to be very stable.

After two and a half hours, the Light Wing woke up, first using its antennae to observe its surroundings and then focusing its attention on Yan Xia.

Yan Xia could feel a tingling sensation in his body as the Light Wing's attention was on him.

Ella appeared beside them.

"The Light Wing's electricity is one of its sense organs, capable of generating 3200 volts to sense the environment within a half-meter radius. This ability is even more effective in water, extending the sensing range to fifty meters."

3200 volts—such a voltage, combined with a continuous current, could be lethal even to a whale.

"How similar is its language to that of the Cancer Clan?" Yan Xia asked.

"About 30%."

Not a small amount, but also not a large one. It meant that creating a new language dictionary wouldn't take long, though Yan Xia had no intention of learning it. The languages of advanced civilizations were complex, and learning them without direct knowledge transfer to the brain could take a considerable amount of time.

Fortunately, Ella could calculate it much faster.

By continuously attempting to communicate with the Light Wing and analyzing its emotional expressions and signals, they created a language template.

After a few hours, Ella had a translation system ready, and Yan Xia no longer needed to act.

"Let's have a conversation."

"You don't need to pretend to be ignorant. When I saw your genetic model, I knew your race had hidden something in your genes."

Genes can carry genetic information, allowing beings to know what to do from birth without the need for learning.

Furthermore, genes can also store memories.

Unlike clones, which must have the same memories as the original, this method of storing memories in genes doesn't require consistency. It's more like inserting some knowledge into the genes, allowing new individuals to inherit these memories, which is relatively simpler.

"What?"

The simple message was conveyed and translated into Chinese by Ella.

"I won't say it again. If you continue like this, I'll have to erase your knowledge and memories, and you know what that means—you'll become my permanent subordinate."

"My civilization is no weaker than the one that destroyed yours. I need your honesty."

Indeed, based on the evidence of the war, this Level 2 civilization was not as advanced a thousand years ago as the Galactic Federation is now.

After a long silence, the Light Wing spoke, "This is the greatest threat."

"From the moment I became aware of this world, I understood my mission—to revive the Light Wing Clan, no matter the cost, even if it means becoming a slave."

"Ideally, a Level 1 civilization would have discovered the gene model, but it seems more likely that a Level 2 civilization would find it."

"Ask me anything you want; I'll tell you everything. I just hope you'll give my race a chance to continue."

It had become wise, carrying the knowledge of an entire civilization.

Yan Xia shook his head.

"I don't need to ask anything. We already know what we need to know."

"Not only will I not enslave or oppress you, but I invite you to join the Galactic Federation."

The knowledge of a Level 1 civilization was of great value to Yan Xia.

Ella explained the structure and scale of the Galactic Federation to the Light Wing, who was shocked to learn about its immense power.

"You will become the eleventh race in our Galactic Federation. Are you willing?"

The Light Wing didn't hesitate.

"Of course."

"We don't have anything like this in our civilization."

"We both understand that refusal means I lose interest in you, so you don't have the right to refuse."

The Light Wing, having never experienced social interaction, was still naive.

Yan Xia smiled faintly.

"This is the best choice."

"I'm a very sharing person, and I'd be happy to give you a tour of our main ship. Unfortunately, we're currently on a space journey, so you won't be able to visit our capital."

"You can choose to stay here. I'll leave some soldiers to develop your original star system."

"Or you can choose to travel with me, see another powerful Level 2 civilization, and witness the wonders of the universe."

The Light Wing didn't hold much value for Yan Xia.

The genetic model's information had already been transmitted to the Galactic Federation via light signals, and soon, countless Light Wings would be created, becoming the Federation's eleventh race.

"I choose to travel."

The Light Wing quickly made its decision, seemingly reluctant to stay.

Yan Xia didn't ask the reason.

"Alright, but we'll have to stay here for some time."

And so they stayed for 34 years.

After all the ship's propulsion systems were upgraded, the fleet departed without a second thought.

Only 2,200 years remained until they reached the Olive Branch Civilization.
