Chapitre 2: I’m trying to Fly but it’s difficult
A year passed, and Alex or rather Goten had quickly adapted to his new life. The once-foreign surroundings now felt like home, and the vast, colorful world of Dragon Ball unfolded before him like an exhilarating adventure book.
At three years old, Goten had already begun to explore the limits of his abilities in his bedroom. He practiced flying, though his little body was still learning to control the energy that pulsed within him. He would hover a few feet off the ground, determination etched on his face.
"Come on! I'm so close to flying properly! It's been a year of trying just to use my Ki for one simple use!" Goten exclaimed, his small fists clenched in concentration.
He closed his eyes, focusing on the warmth inside him. With a deep breath, he willed his energy to rise, feeling it swirl around him. A small gust of wind kicked up as he lifted a few inches off the floor, but quickly wobbled and landed back on his feet.
"Ugh! Why is this so hard?" he muttered, frustration bubbling up.
As Goten landed with a thud, his frustration was interrupted by a familiar voice from the kitchen.
"Goten! Dinner's ready!" It was Chi-Chi, her tone filled with warmth and encouragement.
Goten sighed, momentarily pushing his flying troubles aside. He scampered into the house, where the comforting aroma of rice and grilled vegetables filled the air. Gohan was already seated at the table, a book resting open beside him.
"Hey, Goten! How's the flying going?" Gohan asked, a teasing smile on his face.
"Not great," Goten admitted, plopping down next to him. "I almost had it this time, but I still can't stay up for long!"
Chi-Chi set down a bowl of food and looked at her sons, her expression softening. "You'll get there, Goten. Just keep practicing. Remember, your father had to work hard to learn too."
Goten nodded, a bit of the frustration melting away. "I know. I just want to be as strong as him like how everyone tells me he is."
Gohan placed a reassuring hand on Goten's shoulder. "You will be. You're half Saiyan like me! Plus, you have me to help you when you need it."
Chi-Chi joined them at the table, serving the food with care. "Now, let's eat. You both need your strength to grow up boys."
As they dug into the meal, Goten couldn't help but feel a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos of his life.
He cherished these moments with his family, even if they were tinged with the absence of Goku or well his now Father for a year since he got reborned a year ago as Goten.
"Goten, after dinner, how about we work on your energy control together?" Gohan suggested, his eyes bright with enthusiasm.
"Really? You'd help me big brother?" Goten asked, eyes wide with hope.
"Of course! I want you to be the best you can be," Gohan replied with a grin.
The meal went by in a blur of laughter and stories, Chi-Chi recounting tales of her cooking mishaps, while Gohan shared funny moments about Krillin to us. Goten felt safe and happy, surrounded by love.
After dinner, they headed outside. The sky was painted in shades of orange and purple as the sun began to set. Gohan demonstrated some basic techniques, patiently guiding Goten through exercises designed to help him harness his Ki.
"Just remember, Goten, it's all about focus and relaxation," Gohan said, watching as Goten concentrated hard.
With renewed determination, Goten closed his eyes, envisioning his energy flowing freely. He lifted off the ground again, this time managing to hover a bit longer before his concentration wavered.
"See? You're getting better!" Gohan cheered.
Goten's face lit up with excitement. "I can feel it! I'll keep practicing until I can fly like you older brother!" As night fell, the stars twinkled overhead, and Goten felt a deep sense of purpose.

As Goten floated back down, his small feet touching the ground softly, a wave of realization washed over him. It had been two years since he had awakened in this new life, two years of being Goten. The memories of his past life as Alex began to blur, merging with the experiences he was now living.
At four years old, What would it be like to grow up as a half Saiyan? He thought about the stories he had heard of battles, friendships, and the bonds forged in the heat of combat. But now, it wasn't just stories it was his life.
Being Goten was different, he mused. His days were filled with training, laughter, and love from Chi-Chi and Gohan. Sometimes he still felt a twinge of longing for the life he once knew, but it was overshadowed by the warmth of family.
He glanced at Gohan, his big brother who had taken on the role of teacher, mentor, and protector.
"I'm so lucky," he thought. "I get to have a family and be a part of something bigger."
His mind wandered to the memories of Goku the heroic tales, the strength, the joy in fighting. Goten felt the weight of that legacy resting on his small shoulders, but he welcomed it. This was an opportunity to create his own story, one that would honor the father he had never known but had come to admire through stories.
"Goten?" Gohan's voice pulled him back to the moment. "You okay?"
"Yeah!" Goten replied, shaking off his thoughts.
